This is all a MYTH perpetrated by men so they don’t have to make sure you are comfortable and sufficiently aroused enough before you have sex with them. It is an excuse to disregard and hurt you.

Seeing older lesbians post things like, “Remember when saying lesbians didn’t like dick wasn’t controversial?” stings so much because as a young teenager…

No. I actually don’t. And it’s awful.

Young lesbians are growing up in this. We’re growing up with no role models or healthy ways to express our exclusive same-sex attraction. We’re growing up with no options being given to us that exclude males and penises.

No, I don’t remember when lesbians could say, “Female homosexuality excludes males.”

I remember watching butches be pressured into transition by the people around them and slowly seeing every masculine girl I knew either give in to femininity or call themselves guys. I remember girls who were attracted to other girls calling themselves “bi” or “q*eer” as the word “lesbian” began to attract too many questions. I remember the first question a lesbian was asked after coming out was, instead of “Have you tried guys, though?” became, “But what about transwomen?” I remember males being the first priority in every coming out. I remember girls who only liked girls calling themselves “pansexual” because sometimes the girls they liked, while always biologically female, sometimes identified as something else.

And I do not remember a time before this. Most young lesbians don’t.

How disgusting is that? I keep hearing that acceptance of “q*eers” is at an all time high, but what about acceptance of gay men and lesbians? Homosexual women are growing up bombarded by “transwomen are biologically female” and “same-sex attraction is bigoted” and “if you just try (girl)dick you’ll actually like it!”

And almost nobody’s questioning it, especially not the girls surrounded by it!

Same-sex attraction is natural. It is biological. There is no changing it. If there’s anything that can be done to help young lesbians, it’s reminding them of this.

A friend of mine told me that she hates that pansexuals aren’t taken seriously and that she feels like people constantly treat her like “a bisexual who’s trying to be special”
