this is such a small moment, but i love it. the asmr youtuber asks "wait you know what asmr is right?" and the cognitive scientist instantly rattles off the full thing of what it actually stands for. Kozakura for sure knows the etymology of the term and likely has read some study or report deliberating over whether asmr is a real neurological phenomenon that can be studied, and if it is, what methods would be best used to study it, and meanwhile Runa here is reacting to hearing the full acronym spoken out loud with "uhh, i guess that sounds right? i just whisper good on the internet lol"

I think detaching disgust from morality is one of the keys to Chilling Out. You can find inner peace by being able to go "hm! Gross" and recognize if it's an actual problem or not. Cause if it's not an actual problem... it's not your problem 馃檹 god bless

I was going through some old photos and I found this doodle of T-SAN THE TEMPLEBORN HIMSELF that I did when reading Otherside Picnic volume 6 for the first time last year.

Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.

Suletta Mercury really did just show up at a space military academy under an assumed identity, demonstrate her terrifying proficiency for killing people with giant robots, get romantically involved with the child of her father's killer... and then end up happily married to same.
Now, obviously her being told in the very first episode that being gay is normal wasn't the only factor in preventing her from becoming a monster in her mother's image, but it sure did help. More Gundam AU settings should try legalizing same-sex marriage. Great results so far.

"A cishet person must have made this, no queer person would ever portray queerness in this way."
"This artist must be white."
"No SA victim would ever handle the subject in this way."
"No woman would ever write women like this."
"This creator is obviously neurotypical. Everyone with autism/ADHD/depression understands-"
Nope.
People who make these blanket statements are very frequently proven wrong when the creator comes out as a member of that group. And even when they aren't proven wrong, even in cases where the creator isn't from the group in question, actual members of the group who don't fit whatever arbitrary criteria are being expressed will see these statements and feel excluded and erased.
Not everyone in your group is going to share your experiences. No single individual gets to personally decide what does or doesn't count as a "valid" expression of trauma or being part of a particular group, and creators are also not obligated to out themselves in order to "prove" their validity.
If something doesn't resonate with you, all that means is that it doesn't resonate with you. You don't have to like it. But you don't get to decide what it means to someone else.
