💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
Not sure how unpopular this actually is but I know it annoys both Kataang and Zutara shippers when I say it but Aang, Katara, and Zuko are a triumvirate that cannot be separated from each other or removed from the narrative without if falling apart.
Suki? Toph? Sokka? Azula? Iroh?
Any of these characters can be replaced or removed at any point in the story, and the narrative will still hold its weight. You removed Katara, Aang, or Zuko, the whole show collapses in on itself as they are the three pillars that hold the show up
Avatar: The Last Airbender is not just Aang's story. Aang is the Last Airbender, but both Katara and Zuko's narratives circle the Avatar, and their journeys can not be completed without him, but at the same time, his journey can't be completed without them either. The three of them and the three of them alone drive the plot and the story. Fun side quests aside, Sokka, Toph, Suki, Iroh and Azula do not have the narrative pull to carry more than a one-off or a b-plot by themselves.
That isn't to say the other characters aren't enjoyable because they are. Every story needs side characters to enrich the world and build up motives and relationships, and these characters are often some of the most charming ones because they aren't needed but rather wanted. It just means everyone, other than Zuko, Katara, and Aang, isn't needed for the story to move. They are there to be moved, not to move others. They're just wanted for the fanfare, the action, the humor, or the drama. They don't make the story happen, even if they help make the story compelling.
Basically, I think fans who argue over who the main character of the show is, are the fans who understand the show the least because it's not Aang and it's not Zuko and it's not Katara, but rather all three equally. They can not stand by themselves. They would get absolutely nowhere without the other two.

I'm really rusty and out of practice when it comes to drawing but I somehow managed to produce a sketch that I kind of liked. I'm more of a Zutara shipper really so I don't even know how this happened lol.

Fandom Problem #4825:'
The only thing that baffles me more than "you can't have technology in fantasy worlds" is all the fans that defend said stance.
It's all down to writing execution. Some writers can pull it off, and others clearly can't. Assuming it's bad writing on the basis of the idea is not always proper criticism.

Нi, I like your blog! Аre you a fan of ATLA, сan you share your thoughts about Aaron Ehaz please? Тhere is an opinion that he is responsible for the best part of the show. But then there was a story about how badly he treated his female employees, it always hurt me to think about it, considering that ATLA means a lot to me.
There were several reports three or four years ago, after the Dragon Prince was released that Aaron Ehasz is a less good showrunner than he is a writer. And I find it believable. He was, apparently, “my way or highway” type of a showrunner, not a “go team!” showrunner. I wrote about it here: https://avrelia.tumblr.com/post/189200808481/the-hubris-of-aaron
Right now, several years and two more seasons of Dragon Prince later I haven’t read anything about him being either bad or good. To be honest, I am not very interested, and I didn’t search for it, but maybe he did learn his lessons and improved his people skills.
The takeaway for me is following:
AE is a good writer, has lots of interesting ideas and can write compelling characters and narratives and can convince other people about their awesomeness.
He is less good at listening to other people’s ideas.
He is not a perfect human being who swooped in and make AtLA good.
I appreciate Mike and Bryan even more for their ability to bring in all kind of people, listen to their advice, listen to their ideas, incorporating them into their story, or changing their story to make it better, never failing to give credit and praise their team, and also stick to moments they believed important in telling their story. After all, it’s been 20 years since they started working on the story of Aang, and I have never heard any complaints about them being rude or inappropriate or dismissive.
So to summarize, it seems that Bryke are better showrunners than Aaron Ehasz, but I am grateful for his creative involvement with Avatar the Last Airbender. Beside that I know too little to speculate.

I saw a couple posts saying apparently aaron ehasz recently said azula loves zuko when that was never portrayed as such in the show
Also ngl zuko doesn't seem to love her either
I stopped believing a single thing Aaron Ehasz says when he said zutara was originally meant to be canon when that was never the case. Ehasz was also accused of sexism and harassment in the workplace by several women.
Some people in this fandom take Ehasz's word for gospel bc he tells them what they want to hear and panders to certain loud subsets. I just keep thinking there's a reason mans wasn't invited back for tlok or any avatar related production post atla, despite being one of the main writers for atla.
