I’m not sure why I was feeling obsessed with photographing myself lighting a Palo Santo stick on Sunday but I just went with it...I think because the light was beautiful, and fire always fun/dangerous to photograph.

I did some lighting tests today in my living room. Had some fun with it and kinda liked this pic I took of myself by the end of it.

A few weeks ago I was interviewed by A Photo Editor for the Daily Edit about my Bloomberg Businessweek Gem Show article. So honored to have made it onto the Daily Edit. Read the full interview about how the story came about here.

I shot a photo essay for Bloomberg BusinessWeek on the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. It was an incredible experience being there and shooting this project. Upon my return to LA, I felt like my brain was going to explode with information about minerals. It was as if I had been abducted by mineral obsessed aliens, brainwashed and returned to earth. The story came out on Friday and brought me back to reality. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. It's feels especially sweet as I pitched the story idea and carried it out to it's final product. More images are on my site here. And Bloomberg BW's link here.

I just got back from an amazing month long road trip through California, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. I finished it with 5 days of shooting in Mount Shasta with my friend and fellow photographer Jenny Hueston. Here's a picture of her as we were setting out in the morning to shoot pictures.

I shot a Lobster Roll Festival this week for Time Out. I pitched the story because Lobster Rolls are my favorite food on earth. I just wanted to be in a situation where I could eat them in an unlimited capacity and photograph them at the same time. It was a dream!
