Having Barton see it, though, would be something all together different and he didn’t want to see just how the archer would react. “Not sure I’d recognise you in purple,” he added, his eyes flickering down to the bow. She had a point; the shield was something he was good at. Same with a gun even though he rarely used them. Steve hadn’t ever tried a bow and while he might actually be a decent shot, he wasn’t certain he wanted to test that theory out. “Guess we’ll find out,” he told her, taking the bow. There was always a first time for everything and taking one of the arrows, he nocked it on the string and aimed it towards the target. Pulling back, he let it fly and was surprised it hit the target. It wasn’t in the centre, but it was better than Tasha.

“ they are my colors . ” she teased , but wondering how the team would react if she designed a suit that was purple . something to think about later . “ i think purple will go great with my eyes. ” she stepped back , arms crossed as she eyed his pose . it was just the same as clint’s - back straight , arms in perfect position . the same pose she had copied when she was testing the arrows . when the arrow hit the target , she nearly pouted - okay , she did pout . she had done everything right and yet she couldn’t hit it . “ beginners luck . ” she threw out , taking a step forward to eye the arrow on the blue and white target ( and no , she didn’t base it off of richards’ colors ) . “ do it again . ” she grabbed another arrow , holding it out .

He’d made a point of not drinking as of late and for a long moment he wondered if someone had managed to spike one of his drinks. As far as he knew he was the only one with a suit similar to what he was seeing in front of him. Osborn had tried to replicate it using his own designs but nothing had ever come close. No one was close in intelligence like he was and it had been amusing to see the other fall from grace. But he hadn’t been in a fight and as far as he knew there hadn’t been any random portals. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be the first time Tony found himself in strange places. At least wherever he’d ended up looked similar to his own universe. The only problem was the suit he was staring at. It, too, looked like his own but it was just slightly off. Like the rest of the universe. “I’m not one you want to fire upon.”

steve would give her one of his lectures if he knew she was checking this out by herself . she usually wouldn’t but jarvis had picked up a signature close by and when the flash of gold and red appeared on her screen - she just kind of flew out of the manor . at his words , she retracted her faceplate , eyeing the other gold and red armor . similar to her own but the difference were there ; she’d say hers was better looking , for sure . the thought of someone ( again ) trying to remake her armor had her near seeing red . still holding an arm out , she raised a brow at him . “ stay there and don’t move . tell me now - where’d you get that suit and who are you ? ”

                 unable to hold back anymore , tasha let out a grin and a short laugh . “ catch me monday to thursday during business hours and i’ll take that ass title from you . ” and now she was craving office . damn her team and their limit of three cups a day . “ there will be regret , trust me . ruining perfectly wonderful coffee will only make you cry harder . it’s an endless cycle . ” she really tried to hold back another laugh , but found herself failing . it ended with a snort as she shook her head . “ interesting , interesting . but now i have to know what you have on your playlist if you think that one would make a good addition . ”

the whites of his mask widened to show his shock. ‘ sorry. i misinterpreted that little crease between your eyebrows as someone on the verge of tears. could have been a sneeze. you never know until you know am i right? ’ much was the case for him when it came to gauging a silent stinker or a sprint to the nearest little boy’s room. ‘ no, thanks. i did my scheduled weeping this morning over a bowl of cheerios. ironic as that was. i’d love to have a listen to that playlist regardless if the offer’s still good though. always looking for new bangers to add to my kill-list. that’s what i call the playlist i listen to while slicing and dicing bad guys. ’

                   “ well , you know what they say about assumptions . ” if - a very big if - she was going to cry , the urge had left her by now . she bit her check to keep her amused smile at bay . “ ah , i prefer to do mine over coffee . the salt from the tears really adds to the flavor . ” a snort nearly left her , quickly covering it up with clearing her throat . “ hmmm , not sure how i feel about those songs ending up on that playlist . don’t think say something by carvavn goes with the mood . ”

                  tasha tilted her head , easily sliding off her sunglasses to stare him down . “ one : don’t tell me what to do . ” would she ever cry in public ? hell no . she had enough to deal with - crying in public would lead to headlines about her being unstable and unfit . “ and people are dicks ; known fact . do you need to cry ? i won’t judge - it’s friday , i’m nicer on friday’s - you can cry away . i have someone’s crying playlist on standby . ”

Raising his eyebrows, he was trying hard not to laugh at the scene in front of him. This world wasn’t exactly his, but he was finding himself able to do some good. And he found himself pushing Natasha to do more than sit in the suit “Oh, I know. I don’t think you could pull off that purple uniform,” he teased, the smirk on his face growing. Steve noticed all the arrows in places where they shouldn’t be. The only place that didn’t have them were the target and that had him trying even harder not to laugh. “With the shield or with the bow?”

                    tasha resisted the urge to stick her tongue out ( she wasn’t five , shut up jan ) , even biting back a grin from forming . it was nice to know even a different version of steve held that playfulness about him - even if she felt like she was dying when he trained her . “ i would look fantastic in that purple uniform , thank you very much . ” she wiggled the bow in her hand before holding it out . “ i know you can handle the shield - but can you handle a bow and arrow ? let’s see it , big guy . ”

                    “ ah , that one . we’ve dealt with it before . ” both of their richards seem to love playing with the unknown , after all . “ it might take a few days to find it - the multiverse is vast and we’ve only just got a system in place to send people back home . ” she nearly gave a full body shudder thinking back to the last time - one reed richards was enough but another one for two weeks ? tasha nearly lost her mind . “ we’ll get you to the right one . it can be . . . a lot , going through so many of them in such a short period . ” she felt for the woman ; so many different universes out there , it can be draining . 

                    her brows rose and she nearly laughed , shaking her head . “ no , i am this universe’s tony stark . we have our own natasha romanoff . i’m still confused as to why my parents named me natasha - but people call me tasha and her nat . and speaking of names - what’s yours ? ”

I. not the mcu nor 616. this blog is based in earth 3490 - which is a completely different universe from the mcu and 616. while i do use comic influence and some mcu influence, this blog is not based in either universe. on the carrd, there is information on earth 3490 that i consider canon to this blog. events that happened in the mcu / 616 either didn’t happen in 3490 or played out differently. i don’t expect anyone else to have a 3490 based muse or verse - tasha’s interactions will mostly be with her in the multiverse or a muse ending up in her universe. 

II. not very shipping friendly. i don’t consider this blog very shipping friendly. tasha will keep an emotional distance from those outside of her universe. they are not the same people she knows and she’s well aware of that fact. this applies heavily to steve rogers as 3490 steve rogers =/= mcu / 616 steve rogers. they are not the steve she knows. while in 3490 she and steve are married - i have axed that from my own canon. her default is single.
