Benefits Of ECTA For Young Indians
ECTA, the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, aims to secure Australia’s position in India’s rapidly growing economy. It serves as a stepping-stone towards a comprehensive agreement and facilitates tariff elimination or reduction on Australian goods exports. The agreement also opens new service markets aligned with India’s domestic reform priorities. India is an important trading partner for Australia, and the economies are complementary. ECTA builds on the existing strong foundation and offers new opportunities for trade diversification, benefiting Australian businesses.
Services:
The Services section of ECTA highlights the significance of India as Australia’s third-largest services export market. ECTA aims to provide increased certainty for Australian service suppliers already operating in India by aligning market access with existing settings and commitments made in other trade agreements. Australian services suppliers will gain access to over 85 Indian services sectors and subsectors, including higher education, business services, research and development, communication, construction, insurance, banking, and tourism. India has also agreed to extend any future services market access improvements to Australia in 31 sectors and subsectors. The agreement offers opportunities for Australian financial service providers, retailing, franchising, and wholesale distribution services. Australian internet services businesses can expand with a foreign equity limit of 74 percent for commercial presence. The level of access India will gain to Australia’s services market is consistent with approaches taken in other free trade agreements, including market access commitments at the state and territory level.
Tourism (New options for young Indians to come to Australia):
Australia will offer new access for young Indians to participate in working holidays, with an annual quota of 1,000 places. This initiative is expected to meet workforce requirements and boost tourism in regional Australia. The agreement also promotes reciprocal knowledge exchange by allowing Australians who have completed their studies to gain professional experience in India, while former Indian students can temporarily live, study, and work in Australia after graduation.
Indian students will be eligible for the Post-study work visa, which offers varying lengths of stay based on their educational qualifications, ranging from 18 months for diploma or trade qualifications to four years for doctoral degrees. Additionally, bachelor’s degree graduates with first-class honours in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Information and Communications Technology sectors will have their post-study stay extended from two to three years. India will also establish a reciprocal work-based immigration route for Australian graduates who wish to gain professional experience in India after completing their studies.
Mobility:
The Mobility aspect of ECTA focuses on enhancing people-to-people connections, supporting trade and business activities, and fostering cultural exchange between Australia and India. The agreement facilitates access for skilled service providers, investors, and business visitors from both countries, promoting investment and providing greater certainty for businesses. Australia’s commitments on mobility align with existing visa settings and previous free trade agreements, ensuring the integrity of the visa system. While ECTA does not waive labor market testing, employers in Australia still need to provide evidence of testing the local labor market when necessary. Australia has obtained clarity on visa pathways and application procedures from India, enabling outward mobility for businesses and professionals. The commitments include reasonable processing of applications without undue delays, emphasizing the importance of timely service and trade facilitation. These commitments go beyond what India has previously offered in other free trade agreements or at the World Trade Organization.
Professional:
The Professional Services section of ECTA establishes a Professional Services Working Group to streamline the recognition of qualifications, licensing, and registration procedures between Australia and India. Both countries will engage their professional services bodies to negotiate mutual recognition agreements for qualifications and procedures in regulated occupations. This encourages collaboration and facilitates communication between professional bodies. The Trade in Services Chapter addresses regulatory red tape in India to assist Australians, including Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, providing professional services in India. ECTA mandates transparent fees, reasonable timeframes, status updates, acceptance of electronic applications, and eliminates the need for physical presence for application processing. Additionally, Australia has provided market access for culturally significant occupations, allowing 1,800 qualified professional traditional chefs and yoga instructors to enter India as contractual service suppliers.
ECTA is expected to significantly contribute to the recovery of Australia’s tourism sector. India has committed to providing unrestricted market access for Australian hotel, lodging, travel agency, and tour operator services through cross-border supply and commercial presence. The agreement will benefit education-related travel services, Australia’s largest services export, and enhance the “head turning” effect by introducing a new Work and Holiday program and incentives for Indian students to study in Australia through the Post-study work visa outcome.
Transparency and reducing non-tariff barriers to trade
The Transparency and reducing non-tariff barriers to trade section highlights the commitment of Australia and India to ensure transparency in applying non-tariff measures and prevent them from creating unnecessary trade obstacles. This commitment is aimed at strengthening the trading relationship, as previous non-tariff measures had hindered the smooth flow of Australian exports to India. ECTA includes provisions for both countries to publicly disclose their laws, regulations, decisions, and rulings related to the Trade in Goods chapter, making it easier for Australian businesses to operate in India. The agreement also establishes a Committee on Trade in Goods to facilitate consultations on trade issues, focusing on accelerating tariff elimination and addressing non-tariff barriers to enhance bilateral trade in goods.

Western Australia New Visa Updates For Overseas Workers!
Applicants interested in the Western Australia (WA) skilled immigration visas have a lot to look forward to: the WA government headed by Premier Mark McGowan recently announced that it will cut red tape in an attempt to fix WA’s skilled job crisis.
As WA’s unemployment rate dropped to an all-time low this August, many industries faced and publicly decried the lack of workers to meet an uptick in demand. Popular restaurants, short on servers, chefs and managers, even had to turn away hundreds of customers. In response to the increased demand outpacing the supply of labour, the McGowan government announced a slew of measures to attract more skilled workers and support local industries.
In an update to Western Australian skilled migration news, over 100 occupations have been added to the WA skilled occupation list, bringing the total to more than 300, increasing the list by nearly 60% compared to the previous year. This list includes occupations for workers in the healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and tourism industries. It even includes hairdressers, driving instructors, panel beaters and butchers.
Minimum visa requirements for foreign workers are set by the Federal Government of Australia which oversees the list of eligible occupations. Thereafter, states, such as WA select jobs on that list to include in their own State Nominated Migration Program, which provides applicants with bonuses in the points-based system used by the Department of Home Affairs to approve visas.
WA received 8,140 places for 2022–23, 4,950 more places than the previous year and the third largest allocation overall, after New South Wales and Victoria.
The McGowan government also complimented the substantial increase in the occupation list with changes to the State nomination criteria by providing temporary relaxations such as:
Waiving the $200 application fee
Reducing the requirement to have an employment contract from 12 months to six months
Easing the requirements for applicants to demonstrate “sufficient funds” by doing away with the need to show $20,000 in their bank accounts
Removing additional English requirements for professional and manager occupations
Reducing work experience requirements for the 2022-23 program year to attract more skilled workers to WA
The WA government also announced it aims to allocate nearly $4 million on short-term programs which will help foreign students in developing hospitality and tourism skills. These measures further support the McGowan policies to attract skilled migrants such as its decision in July to launch the new Skilled Migrant Employment Register which connects skilled migrants to state jobs.

Opportunities For International Students Studying In Regional Areas- 485 Visa
Australia is a popular destination for international students because of its high-quality education, excellent facilities, and affordable education. One of the benefits of studying in Australia is the post-study work permit which allows you to stay and work there even after graduation.
Regional Australia is a popular choice for students because it offers many benefits. It helps boost the local economy and relieve pressure on major Australian cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Victoria, Brisbane, etc. You also open yourself up to a fascinating experience.
Let’s dive deep into the blog and learn how to study in a regional area and what regional visas are for Australia with Indeedvisa.
What is an Australian regional area?
Australian immigration policy focuses primarily on regional areas outside Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
As a result, we can divide the regional definition into three categories:
Category 1 includes major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, which are not eligible for regional incentives.
Category 2 includes cities and major regional centers like Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, Wollongong/Illawarra, Geelong, and Hobart.
Category 3 includes regional centers, and other regional areas are eligible for the highest regional incentives.
Skilled migrants who migrate to different places categorized as category 2 or category 3 ‘Regional Centers and Other Regional Areas’ are eligible for regional incentives.
For further information, see: Designated regional areas.
What is the extension for the 485 Graduate Visa in Regional Areas?
If you graduated from an educational institution in a regional area of Australia, you might be eligible to apply for a 1 or 2-year 485 Temporary Graduate Visa extension. The regional areas of Australia are categorized as anywhere outside the big three metropolitan areas — Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
For example, suppose you’re a student who has lived in places such as Perth, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Lake Macquarie, Illawarra, Geelong, Newcastle, Wollongong, Adelaide, Hobart, or Canberra for two years or more. In that case, you might be eligible to apply for a one-year 485 Temporary Graduate visa extension. However, if you’ve lived and studied in any other area of Australia not mentioned above for the same amount of time (2 years), you can apply for a two-year visa extension instead. The student planning to apply for a 1- or 2-year extension must reside in the regional area to successfully extend the visa. A post-work visa extension may be a good option for extending your stay in Australia.
What are the benefits of studying in Regional Australia?
The recent announcement of changes to the immigration program in Australia for 2022–23 serves more benefits for international students. Here are the benefits of studying in regional Australia:
1. Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) Extension — Post-Study Work Stream
An international student with a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regional campus of a registered institution can stay in Australia for an extra year on a post-study work visa 485. This visa lets you work full-time after you finish your studies.
2. Bonus points for Migration
International students often choose to study in regional locations because they know the benefits they will receive, one of which is five extra points toward their permanent residency application. It is important to remember these five factors when applying for permanent residency.
3. Small class sizes
International students can find smaller classes in regional locations than in big cities. As a result, students receive a more personalized education.
4. Scholarship
The scholarship is available through the Australian Government, known as destination Australia for overseas students studying at remote universities. Students pursuing certificates, diplomas, and doctorates will be eligible to apply for this grant, which will provide $15,000 per year.
5. Living costs
The cost of living in regional locations is significantly lower than in metropolitan areas. For example, the cost of living in Adelaide is 28% less expensive than in Sydney.
6. Closer to nature
Regional areas are the best choice if you enjoy outdoor activities and being close to nature. Its diverse scenery and animals make Australia one of the world’s most stunning countries. For example, you can find sandy beaches, magnificent deserts, mountains, and reefs across the country. And, if you’re a student attending one of the many regional university campuses, you’ll have even easier access to these exotic locations!
7. Relaxed lifestyle
The pace of life in regional areas of Australia is considerably slower than in metropolitan areas. There is rarely any rush in the area, so you feel at ease. Even at work, people take a laid-back approach.

After the federal election held in May 2022, Australia’s treasurer Jim Chalmers delivered Labor’s first budget in a decade. The federal budget, unveiled on 25th October, brought to light the new Australian government’s priorities for the coming term, including changes in immigration.
The government led by PM Anthony Albanese has committed to improving Australia’s critical skill shortage by bolstering workforce planning. The Migration Program will have a planning level of 195,000 visa places to help tackle industry demands.
Skilled Visa
This year, the number of Skilled Independent Visa Australia will increase substantially — from 79,600 to 142,400. The visas included in this change are in the employer sponsored, skilled independent, regional, as well as state and territory nominated categories.
Employer Sponsored: 35,000
Skilled Independent: 32,100
Regional: 34,000
State/Territory Nominated: 31,000
The following visa places in the skilled visas category, however, have decreased:
Business Innovation and Investment: 5,000
Global Talent: 5,000
Distinguished Talent: 300
Parent Visa
Not only has the government vowed to increase the number of skilled visas available as part of the federal budget, they have nearly doubled the number of parent visas. The estimated planning levels of partner and child visas have decreased, however there will be no limits placed on their number, and they will remain driven by demand.
The number of Parent Migration Visa Australia has gone from 4,500 last year to 8,500 for financial year 2022–23.
In more Australian immigration news today, some of the migration program funding which was cut by the previous government led by Morrison has also been restored.
To improve offshore processing centers and support refugees, the current government aims to bolster visa processing and allocate an additional $576 million to the Department of Home Affairs over a term of four years.
The change in immigration policy is estimated to bring in an additional $935 million in tax revenue over the next four years. Of this, $487 million will be spent on schools and language programs, according to reports.
At the federal budget, the Albanese government vowed to fast track visa processing times and announced an extra $36.1 million to hire up to 500 people for nine months to help reduce long wait times.

The Australian government has changed the visa rules and process requirements in the last few months. These new changes are mainly implemented to make the country’s immigration system more efficient and fast-track the process for high-skilled workers who can contribute to Australia’s economy.

Want to live in Western Australia? Now is the best time!
This is great news for those of you who have been waiting to migrate to WA.
Western Australia secured 8,140 places for 2022-23 in the government’s state nominated migration program, which is 4,160 more than last year. These latest changes will enable people to migrate easily to Western Skilled Independent Visa Australia.
This is a crucial step for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 visa state nomination applications.
Now, before we discuss why we feel excited, let us take a step back and break down the WA state nomination requirements for the 2022-23 program year.
Western Australia State Nomination – Let’s start with the basics!
Here are the most recent conditions on how to apply for Western Australia state nomination Visa. This procedure must be followed by all candidates seeking state nominations.
You must have evidence of skill assessment for your nominated occupation from assessment authority.
Check whether your nominated occupation falls in category of Graduate stream, Schedule 2 or Schedule 1.
You must submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect after completion of skill assessment.
You must mention whether you’re applying for WA state nomination or any state/territory in your application (choose your preferred state as WA if want to get invited for Western Australia).
To be chosen for a Skilled Nominated Visa 190 or Skilled Regional Visa 491, you meet the requirements set by Home Affairs. Note: Getting a nomination from Western Australia does not guarantee your visa to be accepted by the Department of Home Affairs.
To receive the invitation, you should meet the Department of Home Affairs’ minimum point requirements. To be qualified for the invitation to apply for a visa, you must have a score of at least 65.
An applicant may or may not require job offer and/or experience for the nominated occupation from combined list of WA depending upon subclass (190/491) and state nomination stream. If you are nominated, you should do the following things:
You must notify the Settlement Service Team of your arrival.
If applying for Subclass 190, You must agree to live and work in Western Australia for at least two years.
If applying for Subclass 491, You must agree to live and work in Western Australia until Subclass 191 is granted.
You must complete a settlement survey every six months for these two years.
Do you know how many visa categories there are for you?
There are two skill nomination visa categories:
Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190):
A permanent visa that allows you to live and work in all the areas of Australia is called a subclass 190 skilled nomination Visa. You make commitment to live in Western Australia for initial 2 years once visa is approved.
You must score 60 on your Australia Immigration Points Test to apply for this visa. The nomination from Western Australia will give you 5 points which will be automatically added to your expression of interest in SkillSelect.
·   Skilled work regional provisional visa (Subclass 491):
Subclass 491 Visa is a provisional four-year visa that allows you to live and work in a region of Western Australia including Perth. You must have lived and worked in Western Australia for at least three years and make more than 53,900 AUD before applying for permanent residence.
You must score 50 on your Australia Immigration Points Test to apply for this visa. The nomination from regional Western Australia will give you 15 extra points, which will be added to your expression of interest in SkillSelect.
Your ranking is determined by a lot of factors, including but not limited to:
Currently residing in Western Australia
currently residing in another Australian state or territory
currently residing offshore
 highest EOI points score
 Oldest EOI submission date
This is mostly not straightforward, so always Registered Migration Agent Perth to plan your visa.
What is so special about the 2022-23 program year?
We can now talk about why we are so thrilled about the upcoming program year now that you have a basic understanding of how state nomination Australia works.
The graduate occupation list just received a considerable expansion. It will have approximately more than 350 occupations when the new program year begins. Western Australia has been allocated 5,350 spots for Subclass 190 and 2,790 spots for Subclass 491. Amongst 140+ new occupations, critical additions to the occupation list include but are not limited to:

This provides prospective applicants with another alternative when considering relocation to Australia. Western Australia will also continue to use the capabilities of these brilliant individuals from other countries to address labour market shortages and post-pandemic recovery.
So, the final question is – why should you move to Western Australia?
Western Australia continued to succeed and remain relatively safe during the pandemic while appreciating one of the world’s best economies.

If you are planning to visit Australia to see friends and family or to just experience the Australian culture and beauty then the suitable visa stream is Australian Tourist Visa (Subclass 600).  This Visa stream also allows you to study for up to 3 months but for studies this is not an appropriate visa stream. Though this visa permits you to study for a brief time period, it does not allow you to work in Australia. Tourist Australia is a temporary visa. You can stay for the period or dates specified on the visa grant letter. The length of your visa varies from case to case basis. Factors like how long you want to stay and why you want to stay in Australia affects the duration of your visa. The entire process of visiting Australia and applying for Visa can be a hassle and that is why appointing a Tourist Visa Agent Australia can help you to ease out the entire process. A tourist Visa agent will be aware of the new guidelines issued from time to time and will help in getting your application approved. Australian Visitor visa has three categories Tourist Visitor (Someone visiting Australia for leisure and recreation or to meet friends and family, Business visitor (For businesspersons making short business trips for business, negotiations or to attend events), Sponsored family visitor(For family members outside Australia who are sponsored for a visit visa by an Australian citizen or permanent resident). Different Visa categories have different processing time:
        Tourist visitor – 25% of applications: Less than 1 day / 50% of applications: 6 days/ 75% of applications: 26 days / 90% of applications: 37 days

It is better to have all your documentation on point to get approval of your visa application fast without any issues.
Pandemic did affect Australian tourism because of the strict restrictions it imposed and with shutting down the borders nobody could visit or leave Australia. Which immigration consultant is best for Australia
Australia has always been a popular choice among people all around the world to migrate to and start a better life. Australia is known for having a better standard of living, more job opportunities and a right blend of cultures. Apart from job opportunities, Australia also has great education institutions offering courses in various fields which will eventually open new avenues of career opportunities for you. Even if you are planning to move to regional Australia the opportunities are endless. Regional Australia has its own charm, from easy going crowds to beautiful coastal weather. Australia has it all.
The first thing to keep in mind when planning to move abroad is to be aware of the entire moving process. Starting from which Visa category to apply for, managing the documentation for your application to accommodation. This is when you will need immigration agents who will ease out the entire process for you. There are many good Visa Consultant Australia who will walk you through the entire process properly. However if you are prepared to move to a specific part of Australia like Perth, you can contact Migration Agents Perth for a better overview of life in that specific city. Perth Migration Agent or any other migration agent is an essential part of the process. The choice of consulting a migration agent has a lot of benefits starting from being well — Versed with every step of the process even the minor intricacies. Migration agents come across hundreds and thousands of cases and they help them to easily figure out the visa process and live a comfortable life in Australia. Every case is different from another and migration agents constantly keep in mind almost every provision of Migration law to manage different circumstances. Migration agents are very well versed and help you to avoid any mistakes in your application.
They have great expertise and specialization in the entire migration process which keeps on regulating as per the new laws introduced by the government. Migration agents make sure to be updated with the law so that they can help people acquire their dreams without any hassle. They will advise you about the best options for migration to Australia according to your application. Another benefit of appointing a migration agent is that if you go through any ups and downs with your application, a good migration agent will guide you on every step of the way.
When choosing a migration agent the first thing to keep in mind is if the migration agent registered with the office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). This organization regulates all migration agents in Australia registered with them and makes sure that they offer the right assistance needed from them. In case a migration agent is not registered with MARA you cannot be sure of their integrality and might end up being a victim of fraud also their knowledge about the regulation of laws will not be up to date.
Unregistered agents can act out of order anytime and there is no place you can report them. It’s always better to choose a registered immigrant agent who would actually work things out for you and not scam you. Another point to keep in mind is what other clients have to say about them. One of the best ways to know if the agent is going to help you with the entire process according to your needs or not is to talk with clients they have worked with in the past. This will also make you aware about the way of working, their experience and their approach. A good place to start with is to go through online reviews. These reviews are real and no company can delete the reviews online. See what your requirement is and how an agent or firm fits your needs. At the end of the day your agent should understand your requirements and help you with it.
Another thing that can help you to choose the best immigrant agent for yourself is meeting the agent face-to-face. This helps you to connect with the agent and trust their work. Engaging with your agent in person helps you to know whether their functioning is suitable to you or not. This seems like a basic step but a lot of people do not find the necessity of meeting their agent. Once you meet your agent you can also ask them questions that will make you aware of their efficiency and experience in the same field you are looking for assistance for. If somehow you are not able to meet your agent in person try arranging a video call. One last thing to keep in mind when choosing an immigration agent is their success rate; this helps you to evaluate their performance over the years. Although agents cannot guarantee success on your visa application, the success rate is one factor through which you can make out how successful an agent has been with their work in the past. A good migration agent will always take cases they truly believe in and not give any false hopes however there are some agents who will take any and every case that comes to them. Choosing wisely will always be in your hand.
Best migration agents will never give you false hope and make you aware of your situation properly. Not every case is easy to handle; some cases have minor issues that need to be dealt with perfection. An efficient agent will have a good experience even with complicated cases and will make sure to help you out the right way and guide you wherever your application lacks direction.
