Board game Mockup
Design Process
For the design of the board game, I began by drawing out a plan for what I wanted the board and what side (e.g shot glass, box etc) I wanted to look like. I then moved to illustrator and began my first iteration.

Reasoning for Collateral
Posters x3
I chose to ad posters because everyone looks at posters while walking. A good way to give information in an aesthetic way.
Board game
A board game is card/board game which allows players to grow more personal and fulfilling relationships rather than superficial ‘social media’ relationships. This is good collateral for Log Off as it agrees with the mission of Log Off.
Floor + ceiling advertising
I want a creative floor ad which would read “Look Up” (because people look down when they’re on the phone. The ceiling with have a 3d character grabbing the persons phone?
Instagram
Instagram ‘ads’ and posts are good collateral for Log Off as the target audience spends most of their time on social media it would be the perfect place to encourage limited social media time.
3-fold
A 3-fold booklet/leaflet could be placed in cafes to encourage conversation.

Iteration 1
For my collateral I’m doing Instagram ad along with the Instagram feed.
Design Process
I began by using art boards on illustrator and created iterations from there. Something I learnt from my first iterations (above) was to reduce the amount of text, as most people on Instgram don’t want to read a whole paragraph but rather simple sentences.

Logo Iterations
I chose to go with the person being sucked into a screen as it created more of an image about what ‘Log Off’ is about without actually telling the audience to log off.
I decide to go with the image rather than the word because I thought I would come across as more of a logo than just two words. I also think it will resonate more with my target audience because it makes you look at the logo and think rather than just two words.

What is the challenge of your campaign and how you are solving it?
The challenge of the campaign is to bring awareness to the mental health implications of the overconsumption and addiction of social media. A study carried out by the University of Pennsylvania, examined 140 students to either continue using their social media as usual or limit the time they spend on these apps to only 30 minutes. Before being given the results, the students were asked to complete a survey asking them about their past mental health struggles. The results show that out of 140 who limited their social media time usage to 30 minutes were significantly happier and had lower levels of depression and loneliness. Melissa G. Hunt says “Using less social media than you normally would lead to significant decreases in both depression and loneliness. These effects are particularly pronounced for folks who were more depressed when they came into the study.” Overall, we don’t need to cut out social media from our lives rather just monitor and reflect on the time we spend on the apps. After researching, I found the best way to solve the problem would be to educate Gen Z about how harmful social media is.
