Dwyane Wade Was My First
I want to share something really special with my friends here on Facebook. For those who know me well, I don't usually get to personal, but here goes.
They say you never forget your first! And you definitely wouldn't forget, if your first just happened to be former Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade.
I remember it like it was yesterday. It was long night, a few games removed from the all star break. Everyone... critics and fans alike were asking how could Wade play in the All Star Game, risking injury, especially since it had been a struggle for him to remain healthy during the regular season. We'll...showing no wear and tear and more like a man rejuvenated, Wade scored 23 points. He wasn't the only one scoring that night!
We were in the locker room just after the game, the Miami HEAT versus the New York Knicks; by the way the HEAT won 108-82. Dwyane had a great game, and you know how he is after he's had a good game.
That's when 'it' happened!
The cameras were rolling, reporters questioning and recorders were recording as I was jockeying to get his attention. Our eyes met!!! He gazed deep into into my eyes, as he recognized that it was a person and a voice he hadn't see or heard before. A virgin.
I asked! He listened! And he answered! And he gave me a good 20-30 second soundbite. Yes! The hope of every good audio journalist is to get good quality sound and a good quote. I got both.
If you're still not quite sure-- Dwyane Wade was my first professional NBA locker room interview. He was very gracious and professional. And he treated me like a professional. I was a little nervous at first, but he made my first time one to remember.
Thank you Mr. Dwyane Wade for all the great plays, the great interviews, the great memories and for all that you have done for the city of Miami!!! You represented South Beach with class and style both on and off the court. You will be sorely missed!

The G.O.A.T.
The truly great ones transcend their sport/profession...touching our hearts and souls with their amazing talents and their undeniable charisma. They challenge us, they inspire us and most of all they thrill us.
Muhammad Ali was such a person. Part of “The Champs” charm was his arrogance.
Ali has been quoted as saying this about himself “I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.”
And as he told you that he was “the greatest” he did so with a sly smile; daring you not to believe him, daring you not to fall in love with him.
The 3-time, heavyweight boxing champ, simply and affectionately referred to as the as 'the champ', entertained us in the ring, not only by his boxing prowess, but by the power of his spoken word.  His words packed almost as much punch as his fists.  He was confident, he was cocky and he was colorful. He had a boldness that was unmatched and it unnerved many an opponent.
“Float like a butter fly and sting like a bee” was one of Ali's most colorful sayings.  It described his presence in the ring – as he was quick and light on his feet and his punches were stinging.
He made bold predictions, naming the round in which he would take his opponents out and then proceed to do just that.
The combination of his charm and confidence were polarizing.
With such outlandish statements as this one to the press he had before a fight with George Foreman;
“I've done something new for this fight. I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale; handcuffed lighting, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick.”
Ali had a frankness and honesty about him that also added to his charm.  He was larger than life, but with an air of humanness that drew you in.  Ali once remarked after a fight that he had with Frazier, which he won by TKO, describing the fight as “the closest thing to dying that I know” he also declared Frazier as the “greatest fighter of all times...Next to him.”
Lastly, he was humble and caring. Muhammad Ali cared about the plight of his people.  He stood up for injustice and he fought for what he believed in. He was the people's champion!
This quote from Ali says it all, “service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
He is one of the most recognizable athletes in sports history – simple say 'the champ' or 'the greatest' and everyone knows you are talking about Muhammad Ali.
The truly great one inspire us to want to do more, to be more and to live more.
Rest in Peace - “Champ”

Tom Brady Sets New Postseason Record
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had yet another record-setting week to add to his list of  postseason accomplishments. Last week he threw his 46th postseason career touchdown to surpass legendary quarterback Joe Montana.
Brady with 19 wins, is also the NFL's all-time leader in postseason wins by a starting quarterback.
In Sunday night's divisional game against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady with 6791 yards needed only 10 yards to surpass Denver Broncos Peyton Manning (6800 post season yards) for the top dog spot.  He got that in the first quarter off a five-yard pass to Julian Edelman.
Brady has played in 28 career playoff games, nine AFC Championships and five super bowls.  Now he can add NFL all-time, postseason, passing leader to his long list of postseason accomplishments.

PGA Golfer Robert Allenby and Homeless Women Have Conflicting Stories
The Golf Channel first reported that PGA Tour star Robert Allenby was kidnapped and beaten over the weekend in Hawaii.
Allenby, there for the Sony Open missed the final cut for the tournament, but found himself left with cuts an bruises after his reported kidnapping ordeal.   Michael Middlemo, one of Admiral's Cove caddies, told the Golf Channel that
Allenby was abducted from a Waikiki bar, tossed into a car, driven miles away and subsequently beaten.   New information from CBS Sports and 9 News Australia have Allenby and Charade Keane, the homeless woman who found him, in disagreement over some of the facts.
Originally he stated that a homeless woman found him about six miles from the wine bar where he says he was kidnapped. But in the video below, the homeless woman is now claiming that Allenby was only a block away from his hotel.

"I think eventually everything should come out," said Allenby. "We know that the robbers are using my credit cards downtown. I think the moral of the story is that you have to be super careful."

Chinese Basketball Association Dunking Disaster
Chinese Basketball Association Dunking Disaster
The 2015 NBA All-Star game is February 13-15, and one of the most anticipated events of the weekend is the slam dunk contest.
The best-of-the-best take to the national stage to demonstrate their athletic prowess.  This is their time to shine amongst their peers. We've watched players perform some of the most incredible, the most artistic and most astonishing feats.
We've watched Michael Jordan take off from center court and soar through the air with ease. We've watched Blake Griffin dunk over a car.  And, we've watched Vince Carter dunk while leaping over a 7-foot-2 French center by the name of Frederic Weis in the 2000 Summer Olympics.
We were left speechless!
What made those dunks so great, were not only their degree of difficulty...but that they were successful.
Such was not the case for the contestant in the 2015 Chinese Basketball Association All-Star dunk contest.
The dunker attempted  to jump over five people while doing a two-handed dunk. He was unsuccessful.
He barely clears the first human prop before he falls flat.  I'll give this dunker an “A” for effort and the degree of difficulty and a “F” for failure.
Watch the clip below and you are sure to get a laugh.  Go ahead, he's okay, maybe just a bruised ego.

Tom Brady, White Men Cant' Run
White men can't jump according to a 1992 sports-buddy comedy of the same title. And as stated by Tom Brady Sr. his son Tom Brady...can't run either. In an interview this Sunday morning on the NFL Network, just hours before his son is scheduled to take the field in the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady senior called out his son stating that he's “a pretty slow white guy.”
Brady, not know for his mobility, is a pretty good passer though. Thus far this season he has a 64.1 completion rate and he has thrown for 4109 yards with 33 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.
However, one of the keys to today's match-up, will be to leave the running to those that do it best (the Pats running backs—LaGarrette Blount, Jonas Gray, Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden) thus in essence slowing down Andrew Luck by keeping him off the field.
Tom Brady will set a league record with his ninth conference championship appearance in his 13th full season.
