This fandom is so exhausting.

Y’all will have the same conversation over and over again about John Lennon and Paul McCartney possibly being in a romantic relationship but can’t sustain a discussion about the anti-Asian and anti-black behavior that’s so prominent in these circles.

The only time black fans are valued is when we’re saying “John Lennon wasn’t racist, actually.”. The only time (specifically east) Asian fans are valued is if they’re trashing Yoko. But then want to lament about this fandom not being as active or “everyone leaving”.

No one’s even asking for you to constantly talk about black people and asian people. Just don’t stay silent when you see clear mistreatment happening. Stop rewarding ignorant people with validation when they’re called out. And stop gaslighting fans and downplaying their concerns when they speak out.

I really don’t want to “leave” this fandom and not have any interest towards this band that played a huge part in my musical journey and love for music. Especially since Get Back is coming out. But it’s so hard not to lose interest when every interaction with a fan becomes extremely tiring and uncomfortable. And no it’s NOT just me who feels this way, damn. I hate being the only one consistently talking about it, I really do.

I just wish people backed up their words with action.
