Sadly, I did not get to attack during AF 2023 :(
I was so busy and always tired, but that was due to... y'know... carrying a child? lol I also had super bad art block because I had burnt myself out when I did my overhaul of the references.
If all goes well, I will attack for Art Fight 2024. I can't wait to know what the theme will be! All the ones on the poll were cool! I'll love whichever one gets picked I'm sure, but I do like some more than others. :)

THIS TOOK ME HOURS....
This piece was revenge for @torisaysyeet attacking me with Emera. I wanted something wholesome with our characters from the campaign, but boy I’d be lying if I didn’t say art block was kicking my ass left and right. I thought about all that I wanted to do and I settled on a wedding picture. I really, REALLY like sappy love pictures and this was one of those. Given the height difference between these two girls, finding a pose that worked and framed well was DIFFICULT. I fell in love with this pose and eventually settled on it.
Then came the hard part: outfit and hair design. For Ginger, it was easy. Her hair was short and her outfit choices would be more masculine. A simple vest and slacks would be good for her. But for Dublin, life threw me a curveball. You see, Jester had their own idea for what Dublin would wear to her wedding and it was a little complicated yet simplistic at the same time. I was willing to try but the hair was giving me so many issues. I think it’s mainly to do with the fact that I struggle with textured hair after not drawing it my whole life but y’know we’ll ignore that fact.
THEN IT HIT ME. The Sims 4 released a wedding pack a couple months ago and it had the PERFECT hairstyle. With that in mind and with Jester’s approval, I started to work on this. All in all, I’m EXTREMELY happy with how it turned out. A bit of the shading got fucked up because of my carelessness but I still love it.
The sketching process took me 3-4 hours. The lineart took me another 3 hours. The coloring and shading all together took me about 3-4 hours. This amounted to around 9-11 hours of work on one piece. That might explain the early burnout for this year. LUL
But I love how it turned out and I can’t complain that this was the last attack I did this year. It was so much fun.

Time to share two of the three attacks I made this year! I only made 3 due to a busy schedule and having a toddler to raise- lmao
The first character is named Magnolia Loveberry. She is a really pretty character and I’m so happy that her creator Campbell (Elephantomer on AF) liked this piece!
The second piece has two characters. One of these characters is my own! She’s my trainersona Lyn! <3 The other character in this picture is Maki Fukuhara. Maki belongs to York (yorkalinas on AF). Per their links on AF, they can also be found on Twitter, Instagram, and @yorkalinas here on Tumblr.

They did this. They did this to me and I love them for it. We play a lesbian couple in my DnD campaign so when they attacked my lovely Emera, I went all out. What did they do in return!? Went all out AND ADDED ANGST. First of all, how dare you-
I’m just teasing! But seriously! Look at their art! Please tell me it isn’t the most gorgeous thing! They are an amazing artist and deserve so much love! And I’m not just saying that because they are practically my sibling!

Team Wither or Team Bloom?
I sat quietly pondering which team I’d ultimately call my family for the month of July. I really was kind of stumped. I like both teams and this was a theme I thought about voting for a lot.
Ultimately, I have decided to choose Team Bloom. This is not just because I have a good idea for my banner for the AF 2022 season. I also picked it to differentiate from my friend / roommate (who is more than likely going to pick Wither).

The time is upon us
Art Fight 2022 is fast approaching. We’re going to be learning our team themes tomorrow at around 5:30pm my time. I’m really REALLY excited and have been hard at work updating references that needed it.
Though I’m just now realizing that my lofty goal of updating all 45 characters + adding new characters before the start of Art Fight next Friday is something I’ll possibly fall short on. But we’ll see. I think I can at least get the characters with their updated reference images.
But anyway, back to the topic of the team theme! I’m super excited and I’m really hoping for something like Fantasy v. Reality or Heroes v. Villains. But in all honesty, I’m completely okay with anything! I’m just super excited to hopefully get more of a chance to participate this year.
I will be doing early bird sign-ups (as usual) and will let you all know what I decide on as my team for the 2022 Art Fight. Until then, I’ll see you all tomorrow at around 6pm (after the reveal of the theme) <3
