Spent two weeks staying in one of the most sacred places in Japan- Ise. Went all the way down to a small fishing village in 鳥羽(Toba) called 石鏡(Ijika) for some sashimi and fresh seafood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still remember I was actually very depressed at that time because of the allergic reaction on my face and other parts of my body. Depressed, frustrated and insecure at the same time, even the beautiful scene could not wash away all my negative feelings.

toh-kee-yoooooo
New post after 2 years! Found some good old photos in my laptop, so decided to make a new post.
Tumblr media
It’s been 5 months since I left Japan and graduated from uni. Still unemployed and life had been a bit boring. I somehow miss my uni life and life in Tokyo.
Tumblr media
Used to wander around the streets in Aoyama and Omotesando alone in the afternoons. And whenever I felt tired, I would just go into a cafe, grab a cup of coffee, rest and relax.
Tumblr media
I miss winter in Tokyo. Winter in Tokyo seldom rains and is mostly sunny or at least cloudy. But I don’t miss the cool dry air which always makes my skin dehydrated and even itchy and my nose runny.
Tumblr media
Living alone gives me the freedom to do whatever what I want to do and go to whatever place I want to go at any time I want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tokyo- one of the most hustling and bustling cities in the world.
Tumblr media
However, Tokyo can be very quiet and peaceful at the same time. Like the Tanashi neighborhood where I used to live for four years.
Hope to see you soon, Tokyo:)

Didn’t know the famous haiku poet Matsuo Basho had been here as well until I arrived. The season he came was summer, and here’s the haiku he composed,
Yeah, but what my eyes saw was very different from what he experienced. All I saw was a white world- snow, snow and snow. Snow everywhere. No vibrant green trees nor did I hear any cicada singing. Except one thing that I agreed with Basho, yamadera was indeed a very quiet and peaceful place.
Tumblr media
The stairs on the way to the temple were all covered by snow. As a person from a tropical island, I barely had any experience walking on the snow and not to say walking up or down the steep and slippery snowy stairs. However, I was lucky enough to meet some super nice おじさん to help me went through the nightmare. I always feel people in inaka are kinder and I was right again this time.

Couldn’t focus on studying thus decided to spend my whole afternoon in the book town, 神保町(jimbocho). Wandered around and visited some pretty amazing bookshops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, to me, they’re not merely bookshops. Instead, these shops are more like heaven of all kinds of vintage stuff, only most of the shops sell books. And I ended up buying a few pretty cute vintage postcards. A day well spent:)

It has only been 2 days since I came back from kansai. This time, traveling with my film camera instead of the digital one, hoping to capture a different taste of kansai. And since I couldn’t wait until I go back to Taiwan to have all my films developed (so much cheaper to develop film in Taiwan than in Tokyo), I went all the way to 自由が丘(jiyugaoka) to a famous camera shop- Popeye to get my 4 rolls of film developed. The result of them are pretty amazing and better than I expected.
So, start with the very first temple we visited when we arrived at Kyoto- Toji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fire buckets with water are placed around the temple buildings because Toji has been destroyed due to fire for several times.
I love the way they piled up these buckets. Like pyramids.
