FINAL CAS REFLECTION

What did you enjoy most about CAS?

For me, CAS was a great and inspiring journey throughout these two years of the IB programme. What I most enjoyed about CAS was the time I had to spend on things I like such as playing the piano or volunteering at RMHC and I had to do it regularly which developed some habits. Additionally, it once again evoked my passion which is playing the piano and developed my skills as I practiced regularly.

What was your greatest challenge and how did you overcome this?

My biggest challenge to overcome throughout was definitely the time management and regularity of my CAS activities. However, as I continued my CAS journey I managed to develop regularity of my CAS activities and as an example, I wanted to play the piano so much that I tended to play for a couple hours until late evening, as CAS evoked back my passion towards music.

What have you achieved through CAS?

The CAS programme has taught me regularity and determination to fulfil specific tasks. I have achieved regularity by doing my CAS activities once a week at least and in my free time creating drafts of my posts for my CAS portfolio and adding pictures as soon as possible. Then the only thing needed for later was adding the text. Similarly, I have also learned how to write a proper reflection and developed a mechanism of my posting.

What abilities and skills did you develop most significantly in CAS? 

I developed my ability in digital drawing definitely. I can now create various design functions in the app I am using by exploring ne. Moreover, by constantly practising playing the piano, I developed my skills in the musical field. My hands are definitely more trained and I am now able to add some details and musical ornaments while creating piano covers of my favourite songs. Moreover, I learned a lot about group work and coordination of projects

Which learning outcome did you find most easy to achieve? Most difficult to achieve?

The easiest learning outcome was most definitely identifying my own strengths and growths as each CAS activity was specifically directed towards my needs and wants as well as what I enjoy doing most. The hardest learning outcome for me was probably recognising and considering the ethics of choices and actions.

SERVICE - FEBRUARY

As service for this month I participated in a school activity which was the meeting with younger students from MYP2 regarding their dream subject paths. During that meeting, younger people had the chance to ask older years for any advice and they could ask questions. I was a representative of Polish A and talked about languages in the language rooom.

CREATIVITY - FEBRUARY

As a part of the Girls Global Ready Programme, we had to fill in our February challenge which focused on Women in Business. our challenge was to create a start-up idea, fill in a business plan as well as record a short pitch. Our idea was an app that connected international students and helped them find cool study spots. We also recorded a short pitch for our business. REFLECTION: For me the February challange was the most fun and the most creative out of all that we already encountered. I adore working with my teammates and creating great solutions to real-world problems!

ACTIVITY - FEBRUARY

This week, me and my best friend went to the gym together where we spent time working out. This time we focused on the arm workout and overall corpse. We spent there an hour and a half starting with a warm-up, weight lifting and a cooldown with elements of corpse training.

REFLECTION: The time spent together was very fun as we did something productive as well as exciting. This was a very valuable time.

SERVICE - FEBRUARY

This weekend I went to Rondal McDonald's Foundation with my best friend. We spent about 2 hours at the hospital playing with a young girl named Cynthia. She was a very nice and heartwarming person. At first she was shy but as time went by she badem more comfortable with us. She wanted to do bracelets with use - and overall the three of us made about 15 bracelets!

REFLECTION: As always this was a valuable time spent at the hospital, and I am very glad I could help at the foundation. Moreover, I am very happy for the time we spent with Cynthia as I had the opportunity to feel like a child again and relive my childhood memories by making friendship bracelets.

ACTIVITY - FEBRUARY

This week, I went to the gym alone to focus on my abilities. I focused on my arms during the workout performing exercises such as bicep curls using weights. I spent about 1,5 hours there. I also did a short warm-up and coll down at the beginning and the end.

REFLECTION: The workout was very nice, and I am glad I finally had time to focus and be more precise while performing exercises

CREATIVITY - FEBRUARY

In February me and a couple of my school peers had the opportunity to meet with a famous Polish director Jan Komasa. We first introduced ourselves and watched a movie produced by one of my peers. Then we had a discussion and watched another production by Komasa.

REFLECTION: This was a very valuable meeting that made me have a completely different point of view on life. It was very nice to meet

CREATIVITY - JANUARY

This month as my creativity I decided to learn how to play a piano version of one of my favourite songs from a concert. The intro was stuck in my mind for some days and I finally decided to try to play it. Practising it was tough at first, but it became easier as time passed.

REFLECTION: Even though I had a complete breakdown and did not want to play it at one time, I decided to get through it and continue - and I am really glad I did that.

CREATIVITY - JANUARY

For my Creativity this month, I created another TikTok for the school's account. Making it was very fun, yet quicker than usual.

REFLECTION: Creating this was very entertaining as I also found out about some of my friends' favourite films and tv shows. I hope it goes viral😜

ACTIVITY - JANUARY

During the second week of skiing me and my friends and family explored different regions of the Dolomites as we visited different ski resorts. This week I also had the opportunity to ski more as I could ski by myself and I fortunately managed to ski about 20-30 km per day.

REFLECTION: It was very fun to ski by myself, as I love to ski very fast without anyone slowing me down. Moreover, I tried learning some ski tricks such as a simple jump on obstacles and 360 turns.

ACTIVITY - JANUARY

For my acticity this month, I went skiing with my parents for two weeks. During the first week I was skiing with little kids, helping them to learn. I gained a lot of ski experience as I had the opportunity to observe the exercises given to the kids, as well as a lot of life experiences because I had to take care of little kids.

REFLECTION: It was a lot of hard work, yet very fun. I gained a lot of different experience which will definitely be needed in the future. I learned how to deal with little kids and learned some tricks as an instructor. The most important skill of all was responsibility and determination.

SERVICE - JANUARY

As my second service in January, I decided to help in school's social media accounts. I did a photoshoot with my friends showing our school's new t-shirts so that people know they are available to buy.

REFLECTION: The photoshoot was a very nice idea - I have never done something quite like this before. I am glad that the pictures turned out nice:)
