cutting a family member off for going to college is always going to be a bigger betrayal than them going to college. locking someone in a cell to violently detox and possibly die is always going to be a bigger betrayal than trusting in a friend and lover to help you save the world. blaming someone for following your own stated wishes and not resurrecting you is always going to be a bigger betrayal than them not pulling you out of what they thought was heaven. every time, EVERY TIME, dean blamed sam for betraying him dean committed a worse betrayal

and on that note i want more about what happened in the cage because you’d have to twist my arm to make me believe that Sam fought for all of those years against Lucifer- you’re telling me sam ‘stockholm syndrome’ winchester stood his ground and maintained this idea that satan was bad and terrible and disgusting for over 100 years? i don’t buy it. i want a darker supernatural where Sam comes back and he’s not himself and he’s quiet and brooding and always sad and Dean thinks it’s because of all the horrible hell memories because of course, why wouldn’t it be? but when Sam’s wall starts to crack, Dean catches him on his knees in the dark in the middle of the night, mumbling words that Dean can’t quite hear without getting any closer but the most emphatic phrases sound something like please, and i swear, and only you. head tilted back, pleading with an invisible force. Dean confronts him about it later after he gets a few drinks in him and Sam looks down and in the most pathetic voice says god, Dean, i miss him. i miss him.
