Rereading sitq and I honestly love Sloane, Tessa and Violet, you don't have to answer if you don't want to but do we get a moment between the 3 of them in the future?

Thank you, I’m glad you love them!! Throwing an OC in always makes me a lil nervous because I never know how they’ll be perceived.

There’s a little bit of Tessa in the next chapter! No Sloane yet, but she might poke her head in before the end. There will definitely be more moments between them coming though

Final verdict on this book: 3 ⭐️ (generously, I could def give it 2.5)

Pretty predictable plot, a lot of telling and no showing, and it fell flat for me in terms of world-building and character depth. It got interesting in like the last 20% so I’ll probably pick up the next one but definitely not my favorite.

There is so far not a single likable character and I hate the nickname Born-In-Fire someone tell me this book is worth it

(Also I’m trying to sun and water myself like a plant whose leaves are drooping so I’ll be back to the internet for real in a day or two to answer all my asks 🫶🏻)

Mira stealing Violet’s coffee like “I need this more” even while she’s recovering from torture is PEAK sibling behavior. Like yeah I’m worried about you and want to take care of you but that doesn’t mean i’m gonna stop annoying you 😂😂😂

Mira was like, she’s fine, she can get more coffee, Riorson will get it for her 😂 plus it adds a sense of normalcy to the situation—Violet doesn’t want to be treated differently or like she’s breakable and her people (Mira and Xaden especially) know that about her

I love that we get to read all the small moments and conversations between Violet and Xaden. It's such a pet peeve of mine when an author writes that the love interests "talk about everything under the sun" but then glossea over those conversations. Your fic is feeding me!!!

ps I love Liam so much. Their bond is everything. Along with the whole squad actually.

Thank you! I understand that a lot of those “filler” moments often have to be cut in published work for the sake of brevity and the plot, but that’s part of the reason I love fic so much. I can put whatever little lovey dovey moments I want in my fic and no one can stop me

What went through Xaden's mind when Violet told him it was him who got tortured in her dream? 🥺

The angst until now was one thing but I think what's yet to come might just kill me 🫠 (and I'll go happily)

It’s hard to say because I think he was feeling a lot of things about that. Fear maybe isn’t the best word—but just the idea that that could happen and they could be separated like that again haunts him in a way. He would go through anything for her, but he’d never want her to feel the way he felt you know? So pretty conflicting emotions, like, of course he would be tortured for Violet, but he also will do anything in his power to make sure that doesn’t happen

The way I was grinning ear to ear reading this chapter (EXCEPT FOR THE SOBBING PART HOW DARE YOU)

This chapter was very Violet (black cat gf) x Xaden(doberman bf) coded, sleepy cat gf being guarded by her scary dog boyfriend

X will shirk their duties for as long as he needs to, who cares if they have a country to run, his wife needs good food and sleep!!!!

 "Xaden loomed over her shoulder" I can tell I'm already going to love reading this bit OVER and OVER again

“You go or I go.”  “You fight dirty,” he murmured.  I already know this is going to be a repeat offense between V and X -- consequences of your actions indeed Xaden

Xaden literally does not CARE. Violet needs a nap so Violet gets a nap. End of story.

Their height difference makes his looming so much funnier because I imagine she maybe reaches his shoulder so he doesn’t even have to try to move or do anything out of the ordinary to glare at people over the top of her head. And Violet will absolutely be using his overprotectiveness to her advantage. Xaden needs to do something but won’t? Oh well she’s queen, she can just go! (Or not.)

Idk I can’t remember if Felix and Devera even so much as looked at each other in canon but I don’t care there’s potential. They would be so badass together.

Mira’s stressed as fuck and having a lot of emotions about life so sleep is evading her. Mira/Brennan showdown hopefully next chapter?? I promise you she’s not calm, she is vibrating with rage but holding it in for Violet’s sake.

I got actual heartache when Liam en Vi tried to reassure eachother. Xaden definitely is Vi's love of her life, but Liam is her soulmate.

I notice a lot of people are asking about snippets or release dates, but I hope you never feel pressured to write this fic. It's so good, it's worth savoring and being enjoyed for a long time.

I love writing Xaden and Violet as just being friends. Just gossiping and throwing knives and eating meals together. Devera has things to do! She is definitely a woman of action. I’ve been promising for months that Liam wouldn’t die and I hope everyone finally believes me now 😭
