So I was playing Persona 3 FES, and I got this during a tough battle. Never knew characters could retreat from battle if they are at low health. You learn something new about your favorite games every day.
This is a sequel to this post I made in January. Thought I'd share the alleged "subliminal effect" commercial for Persona 3. I've left a link to the original file on Archive.org, as well as a transcription of what is said on there.
Whatever you do, if you see the Freedom Gundam or Throne Drei at your wedding, things are gonna get ugly. Especially if you see Throne Drei, cause Nena Trinity WILL fire upon you.
Reminder that Vanilla Persona 3 has been outdated since 2007 when FES first came out. If you have a copy of Vanilla, use it to play FES (Append Edition, if you have a Japanese copy of both of them, Append was never released in the US) or use the save file transfer to carry over your compendium and social stats to make your FES run a bit easier. FES is still the best way to play the PS2 version of Persona 3, and both Portable and Reload don’t invalidate FES as an option for your first Persona 3 experience, since all 3 are good ways to experience Persona 3.
If you like Vanilla Persona 3, that’s perfectly fine! Everyone’s entitled to their own preferences. That being said, FES did add many QOL features and new content (The Answer, Aigis Social Link, Elizabeth Dates, etc.) that it’s hard to go back to Vanilla Persona 3 for some.
Ah, you want to get into Persona 3?
Well, first you have to play FES, Portabe and Reload. Yes, all 3 of them. It's called Persona 3 for a reason.
Then, read the manga and watch the anime. While neither are a flawless adaptation, each one give an insight on different things relating to the characters/specific scenes and are very worth your time.
CD Dramas are a must since they're canon and have plot pieces and slice of life segments between the characters. (Translations)
Play Persona Q, Q2, Arena and Dancing. Like them or hate them, they give you info about the characters at the most random times.
Now learn Japanese.
Read the novels, again they give you insight into the characters that isn't shown in the games. (Velvet Blue has been fan-translated!)
Get all the arbooks and fanbooks to read the interviews since they mention lore bits only written there (do they even make fanbooks for games anymore?)
Watch the stageplay, all 10 acts. Aside from the stellar performances, songs and actors, they also flesh out characters like FeMC and Strega. (Avaible worldwide at Theater Complex in HD for just $5)
I want to keep this atlus staff-only works, but an important exception: While not canon since they're by-fans-for-fans, you have over 40 comic anthologies to read! They're very fun, worth your time and money.
Now get a time machine
Read Atlus Net's posts for P3 development info. (Some saved via Internet Archive)
Get a JP phone and play the P3 mobile games like Escape, EM and ATFM. While it's debatable if they're canon or not since a few bits contradict the games, it's still official P3 content and explain a few story stuff (ATFM has a full recording and rought translation, Escape has recordd bits)
🎉🎉🎉 Congrats!
You're a fan now and know aprox. 50% of P3's canon 👍 I hope you had fun
Here’s a video with subs for this. Just in case it becomes lost media in the future. Also went to the trouble of snapping that on the Wayback Machine so people could be aware of this marketing stunt.
