Spring. That magical time of year when our favorite local farmers markets reopen for the season. Whether you’re just browsing or you’re on a mission to find fresh ingredients for a specific recipe, we’ve complied a list of all our favorite spots to peruse – one for each of our Cava Grill locations. Happy market-going!

Bethesda Row

Pay a visit to the Bethesda Central Farm Market, which is actually open every Sunday year round from 9am to 1:30 pm at the Bethesda Elementary School parking lot; if you get there early enough, you may even luck out with a parking spot! 

Or, check out the Bethesda-Farm Women’s Market, open every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:30 am to 4pm.

#ProTip: For the Women’s Market, stop by for Food Truck Fridays held weekly from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Chinatown

If you’re around our H Street location, your best bet is the Penn Quarter FreshFarm Market, held Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm. With rotating vendors each week, there is never a lack of opportunities to try something new – and don’t miss the CityCenter FreshFarm location either – operating on Tuesdays from 11am to 2pm.

#ProTip: Check out the FreshFarm site to keep track of the vendors in attendance and where they will be located.

Columbia Heights

If you’re looking for 15+ vendors and a vast selection of fresh produce, desserts, and meals, make sure you visit the Columbia Heights Community Marketplace, held on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.

#ProTip: Always remember these two things: bags and bills. Bring your own cloth bags to put your purchases in, and try your best to bring along smaller bills to make the transaction as easy as possible (many vendors don’t accept credit cards).

Kentlands

For a fun weekend activity the whole family will enjoy, head over to the Main Street Farmers’ and Artists’ Market, open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The great thing about this market: it’s open year round and the products reflect each season (for this spring, make sure you shop their yummy jams/jellies and fresh fruit).

#ProTip: Bring your furry friend, and grab them a snack at Bark!; they will love it, and love you even more.

Montgomery Mall

Have some free time in the Bethesda area? Head toward the Pike Central Farm Market, open Saturdays from 9am to 1:30pm.

#ProTip: You usually will get the best deals if you buy in bulk, especially on fresh veggies and fruits that are in season – so pick them all up while you’re there!

Mosaic District

Held every Sunday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, the Mosaic Central Farm Market brings together a wide variety of wholesome producers ranging from Westmoreland Berry Farm to Zayna’s Delight.

#ProTip: Do a lap before purchasing anything. You’ll get a feel for everything that’s available at the market – and it’s a great way to price check before you dive in.

Tenleytown

On Wednesdays from 11am to 4pm, American University hosts a small, but bountiful, Farmers Market that brings together Agora Farm’s fresh produce and Girardot’s Crumbs amazing artisan breads.

#ProTip: Also at the market, you can find different local artisans selling goods like tapestries, vintage records, and jewelry.

Tysons Corner  

The Tysons Sunday Farmers’ Market is held, you guessed it, every Sunday from 10am to 2pm. This epic market rounds up about 16 local vendors to bring you a variety of fresh produce.

#ProTip: Get there early to make sure you have the best selection – and avoid the crowd.
