the whole point of a zine is that it's cheap to produce, amateur and homemade. if you're being asked to apply to participate in a print project, it is not a zine. if the final product is being printed and bound professionally, it is not a zine. if you are being asked to enter into any kind of licensing agreement more complex than "my work can be reproduced as part of this publication" it is not a zine. nine times put of ten if the final product costs more than $5 you have left zine country. im so serious about this.

People often say to me: “You draw like some kind of inhuman machine.  If I eat your brain, will I gain your power?”  The answer is yes, but there is another way. The key to precise drawing is building up muscle memory so that your arm/hand/fingers do the things you want them to do when you want them to do them.  Teaching yourself to draw a straight line or to make sweet curves is just a matter of practice and there are some exercises you can do to help improve. If you’re going to be doodling in class or during meetings anyway, why not put that time to good use?

feeling nostalgic for fandom meta. Yeah incorrect quotes and memes are cool but have you tried an in depth psychological analysis of your fave with supporting evidence and quotes from their source material? Have you used tumblr’s unique format to your full advantage to ramble on and on about the tropes that they address and subvert and how their arc changes and develops? Have you ever sat down with a spreadsheet to get real autistic about all of their canon iterations and compared it to fanon portrayals?
