Nevertheless finale thoughts and what we can learn from this show.
When I found out Han So Hee and Song Kang would be starring in a drama together, I knew it would be a great Kdrama. Not only would it show how good they are together both on and off cam, but also it gives us a slice of life of what some relationships are.
CONTAINS SPOILERS! Read at your own risk!
Tumblr media
For all suckers like me, we find bad + play boys interesting because they give so much thrill and fun. They spice up the "relationship" and sometimes you really don't know what to expect. However, that's the thing. You don't really know what to expect. One day, Jae-Eon would be like "oh i dont want to be in a relationship" and then get all worried and jealous. As much as we want to experience the thrill of dating a bad boy, characters like Jae-Eon are guys who we should avoid. You may date them for a short while but in the long term, you might end up getting hurt.
Tumblr media
Even though i was so invested in Jae-eon (cause he’s cute and hot lol), i found it weird that Na-bi wanted to "date" a guy who she knew would break her heart again. I thought she would find someone more vanilla and kind to make up for everything she experienced with her ex. Can't complain much about the time she spent with Jae-Eon because they were cute together,, but toxic.
Tumblr media
Sometimes, the good guys aren't chosen as well. We make mistakes, we choose the wrong people because sometimes the better guys are just too boring. Or even yet, we choose the wrong people because we have some hope for the person we like. After watching the finale, i realized that as much as i want Na-bi to end up with a guy who would take care of her and not take her for granted, she shouldn't choose someone who she doesn't like to begin with. It is wrong for that other person. i feel sorry for  Do-Hyeok/Potato Boy but you know Na-Bi likes toxic 🤪
Tumblr media
Expressing how you feel is nerve-wracking. You risk breaking your heart and your friendship. For the supporting casts, Sol and Ji-wan had a rocky start as Sol wasn't opening up to Ji-Wan. Apparently she already had feelings for Ji-Wan. Ji -Wan was still unsure with her feelings and she didn't want to ruin the relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their chemistry is at a whole new level!!
On the other hand, Bit-Na gave me that "i only like flings" vibe until Gyu-Hyun wanted a serious relationship. They kept fighting but thankfully they worked it out.  You hesitate when you want to tell how you feel because there is this fear that the other person will not reciprocate. I'm happy that the writers gave these two couples a happy ending because they deserve each other.
Tumblr media
Also note: i feel bad for Kim Min-Gwi (Gyu-Hyun) because a lot of his scenes were cut short or his face wasn't seen (i.e. Episode 9) because of his cheating scandal. We shouldn't tolerate cheating so Kim Min-Gwi must learn from this. i do hope he still gets shows after his cheating scandal.
Tumblr media
I thought the best option for Na-bi was to choose herself. Na-bi shouldn't feel pressured to choose any guy. She can choose herself. She can choose to heal, choose to be free, and choose to rediscover herself. Yet, she still chose someone T O X i C. Although the drama showed a slight character development for Jae-Eon wherein he "reflected", it was a bit rushed in my opinion. I wished the drama showed how he changed to be a good boyfriend to Na-Bi.
Tumblr media
Na-Bi's choice may be questionable for some viewers like me. NEVERTHELESS, it was a good show!
Also, can we talk about Song Kang's glow up from Love Alarm to this?? He's so gorgeous! He doesn't look like that youngster anymore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry for posting late! I was on K-drama hiatus because I didn’t know what to watch huhu. Let me know your thoughts about this drama as well! A lot of my friends dropped the show because the couple didn’t have progress lol.

3 kdramas with Life Lessons (aka dramas you should really watch)
Hi everyone! I'm aiming to post at least once a week in this blog but let us see where creative takes me! For this week's post, I am sharing with you 3 kdramas that gave me life lessons. Although a lot of kdramas give lessons that we can learn from, these are the 3 dramas that made me cry a lot lol aka something i related to the most. These dramas are the ones I really recommend to my friends when they want to watch Kdramas that they can learn from.
Also, please suggest dramas that i should watch or write about!
1. Reply 1988
I watched Reply 1988 back in 2016. At first, i had a hard time watching it because of its slow start but after moving past episode 4, i was hooked! Reply 1988 is a story about 5 friends who are very close to their families. They live on the same street called Ssangmun.
Tumblr media
Reply 1988 tackles daily life encounters and problems.  In this drama, it tackles how despite parents not having plenty, they still try to provide as much as they can. The parental love is surely irreplaceable.
Tumblr media
True friends will always be there for you . i remember this episode where Taek lost his baduk game and his friends came over (please correct me if i'm wrong it's been so long lol). it was heartwarming to see how the friends rushed over to make sure Taek was okay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also this scene was so sweet! Deok-sun accompanied Taek on his China trip because his dad got sick(?) and she really took care of him prior to his Baduk match!
As much as we want to believe in fate or destiny, we also have to work on our timing. I wont tell you who Daek-sun ended up with, but one of her prospects was too slow in confessing his feelings that the other guy went to her first.

2. Hi Bye Mama
I made a blog post about this in my old blog so I will link the post here but i will summarize again what i learned about this drama. (https://kdramarecommendations.tumblr.com/post/617079730406080512/life-lessons-from-hi-bye-mama)
When we are given second chances, we must seize the opportunity and take it. Not everyone gets second chances yet, when we do, we must cherish it. We never know when we can get a chance again to do something we’ve always wanted to do. Yu-ri got the chance to hold her baby, Seo-Woo, after Yu- ri died in an accident. Yu-ri got a second chance to live shortly just so she can spend time with Seo-woo.
Tumblr media
Life is never easy but it is still something we should be thankful for. As much as we want to live a life of certainty, we never know what the future holds. Everyday is a chance to be grateful for everything that has happened in life. Gang-hwa lost Yu-ri suddenly which caused him trauma. Although it was a traumatic experience to live by, life blessed him with Seo-Woo and his second wife, Min-Jung. Unexpectedly, Min-Jung was a kindhearted step-mom. Somewhat a rare site to see but yet it isn’t impossible to be a kind step-mom.
Tumblr media
Sometimes, life makes us gives up the thing that we loved the most. However, it is because there will be a bigger gift that we can ever imagine. It can be as simple as appreciating the person that has gone before us or becoming wiser or more mature.
Tumblr media
Please check out my post on my previous blog! I made a longer post about Hi Bye Mama! :)
3. 18 Again
18 Again is now one of my top 5 must watch kdramas! I cried so much here for some weird reason but it also because it made me realize how much parents sacrificed a lot for me. Here are life lessons from 18 Again.
Tumblr media
It is never too late to follow your dreams. The leading lady, Jung Da Jeong, got pregnant at around 18 years old that she was not able to fulfill her dream in becoming an announcer. However, she was very resilient and driven that despite being at her late-30s, she still pursued her dream as becoming an announcer.
Tumblr media
Be kind to your parents. It is not always sunshines and rainbows for them. For sure, they have encountered hardships and trials that we may not know about. Yet, we must be patient with them as they were patient with us.
Tumblr media
I cant find a gif with his kids in the show but it was shown in the latter half of the series wherein Woo young/Dae-Young (Lee do hyun’s character), has been saving up for his kids ever since he started working. That scene left me crying!
Although i mentioned earlier that it is never too late to follow your dreams, there are also some instances that there are other callings that we have that are bigger than our initial dreams. Dae Young gave up his basketball career to take care of his young kids. Although he regretted his decision before, it gave him a bigger blessing which was his family.
Tumblr media
By the looks of it, 18 Again isn’t that popular yet in Tumblr because I can’t find gifs about it! I will learn how to make Gifs just to post HAHAHA but anyway Let me know if you have any requests or dramas that I should watch!

2nd leads that should have ended (or had a shot) with the first lead
Admittedly, one of the many things that make kdramas very interesting is their love triangles or second lead. Although I always fall for the first lead, it was these dramas below that made me say "the 2nd lead deserved the main character more". Please don't attack me on this! HAHA These are just my opinions but you can say why the first lead deserved them more.
1. Start up
Both characters, Nam Do San (Nam Joo Hyuk) and Mr. Han Ji Pyeong (Kim So Heon) both had the looks and the brains but if Ji Pyeong wasn't afraid to make a move, he definitely deserved Dal-Mi more. Ji Pyeong was there for Dal-Mi for the longest time, was supportive, and was really loved by her grandma. However, this drama made me realized that if you don't admit your feelings about this person that you dearly liked right away, then you might miss out on having a relationship eventually. Ji Pyeong was just too slow in coming clean with Dal Mi about who really wrote those letters. He had the opportunity to do so in the beginning but he didn't. He also had the opportunity to pursue her when Do San when to San Francisco... BUT NOOO!! HE WAS A CHICKEN I CANT!!!  However, if he did come clean, then there wouldn't be a drama after all 😂
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I thought Ji Pyeong would end up with Seo In Jae (Dal Mi’s sister)  but I guess being friends isn’t that bad!
Tumblr media
2. True Beauty
I'm a big fan of Cha Eun Woo but i think Hwang In-Youp's character, Han Seo-Jun also had a big shot in being Lim Ju-Kyung's leading man. Yes, Lee Su-Ho (Cha Eun-Woo) knew how Ju Kyung looked like bare faced before seeing her with makeup and eventually still fell in love with her with and without makeup, Seo-Jun was that type of guy that despite being notorious, had that soft side in him that can take care of women. This show was definitely about how it is really the personality that makes you fall in love with a person. Seo-Jun met Ju-Kyung when she had full make up on but still liked her when she saw how she looked without makeup. Liking someone is surely about how one makes you feel, aka how their personality affects you.
Tumblr media
^When Jung Kyung did this to him IT WAS SO CUTE! Like he really fell for her lol.
Tumblr media
Oh well, they would have been cute together.  Sorry Su-ho! ✌🏻
3. Itaewon Class
Another Park Seo Joon kdrama that i liked but i did not like who he ended up with! Park Seo-Joon's first love is Soo-ah, is a career driven woman.  Soo-ah had a lot of conflict of interest, having to choose between Jangga Group, where she works, and Sae-ro-yi (Park Seo Joon). It sucks though that Soo-Ah led Sae-ro-yi for the longest time that he ended up falling in love with Yi-Seo. At some point, I truly believed that Soo-Ah should have given up Jangga Group especially during the time when it was affecting Sae-ro-yi. When you really love a person but also love your career, you really have to choose which one you are willing to keep and give up. Although (i think) she was already willing to sacrifice her career to be with Sae-ro-yi, it was already too late. He already fell in love with Yi-Seo. This drama taught us that life really gives you battles such as choosing your career over your love life or vice versa. However, if you choose one over the other too much, you really miss out the opportunity of the other.   Nevertheless, with the perfect timing, you will eventually get what you deserve (I think Soo-Ah ended up with Park Bo Gum in that drama, they would be really cute) .
Tumblr media
YI-SEO REALLY HAD TO RUIN IT SO ANNOYING!! HAHAHAH
Tumblr media
In this scene though I disagree with Soo-ah. She’s the biggest fool for leading him on!
Tumblr media
^THEY WERE SO CUTE HERE I WAS FANGIRLING SO HARD
Anyway, I will be posting more about these in the future! My next line up would be Reply 1988 (even though I love park bo gum), She Was Pretty, and Love Alarm season 2.

3 Kdramas that you should already be watching this July
Hi! If you followed me before using the same url, you’re probably wondering why my feed is empty. That is because I have decided to make this blog a primary one instead of a secondary one! You can still see my previous posts at kdramarecommendations.tumblr.com! I decided not to delete it because of some memories and some valuable content! lol Anyway here’s to the main event of the blog.
Another month filled with exciting Kdramas! i only have 3 kdramas left to finish my 21 kdramas in 2021 but of course i am going to exceed that! This Month, we have an exciting line up of dramas and you should definitely not miss out on those!
THERE ARE SPOILER GIFS BTW but it’s there to hype you guys up to watch hihi.
1. Nevertheless
Han so Hee (Nabi) and Song Kang's (Jae-Eon) visuals OMG!! We are only 2 episodes in but their chemistry makes me want to scream! Although Song Kang's character, Jae-Eon really is an epitome of "fucboi" vibes, I definitely understand why people would fall for those type. Like hello, the thrill? Of course, if you are looking for someone who can commit, a guy like Jae-Eon should be off the radar. It’s all fun and games until these guys cheat 🤢. I'm sad this drama only has 10 episodes but I can't wait to see how their relationship progresses. Sadly, I heard that in the webtoon, they don't end up with each other but I HOPE THE WRITERS CHANGE THAT HAHAHA. We shall see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also if you have watched this scene above, I WAS LITERALLY S C R E A M I N G. And what happened afterwards bruh I was disappointed HAHAH if you watched it, you know.
Inserting more gifs because THEIR CHEMISTRY REALLY IS SPOT ON
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Hospital Playlist
My childhood dreams of becoming a doctor is lived up here! I love how realistic this drama portrays and how we can see how doctors should interact with their patients. It's also cute to see Doctor Ahn (the pediatrician that was almost a priest lol) have his heart flutter over Doctor Jang (The General Surgery Resident). I'm hoping though that General Surgeon Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk) and Neurosurgeon Chae Song-hwa and up with each other! Even though it is understandable that dating a best friend is risky, their chemistry is undeniable. They deserve each other!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^Also this scene was so heartbreaking! I really hope Song-Hwa changes her mind.
3. My Roommate is a Gumiho
This romantic comedy drama is a must-watch. Lee Hye-Ri never disappoints with her comedic side. Her photoshoots with Jang Ki-Yong would make you think that they are real couple in real life! (Sorry Ryu Jun yeol!). The drama started with Shin Woo-Yeo (Jang Ki-Yong), accidentally giving Lee Dam (Lee Hye-Ri) the gumiho marble that sucks human energy, they started to live together so that Shin Woo-Yeo could somewhat protect Lee Dam. Eventually, they fell in love with each other. However, as all romantic dramas in the kdrama industry, there would be trials and obstacles that the couple has to face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s it for now! I will be writing about the 2nd lead syndrome soon but will have to gather some thoughts! If you have any suggestions on what you guys want to read, feel free to message me hihi
