Listen, capri-sun kitty, you gotta understand two things. One, this conversation includes someone named Davekat-sucks, truly it's a mystery why they talk about Dave often. Two, the cardinal sin of Act 6 character development isn't that everyone is shitty to each other, no it's that everyone is fucking boring. Everyone becomes slightly less funny and their worst traits consume them in a way that isn't even entertaining. Davekat and Rosemary just get the most attention and flak because they involve very popular characters in very popular ships and are very controversial. Controversial in a way that Gamzee x Terezi simply isn't, because everyone knows GxT sucks ass, the narrative itself is screaming at you that it sucks. On the other hand, Homestuck doesn't believe Davekat or Rosemary sucks, it has the gall to show you the two most boring ships ever and tell you they're good for the characters.

So instead of fighting against someone who can literally DESTROY THE UNIVERSE IN BOTH TIME AND SPACE, the other villain that KILLED YOUR BROTHER, or the troll queen that ruled over Dirk/Roxy's timeline who are both his father/mother and sister/brother, Dave chooses to fight a FUCKOFF version of Spade Slicks that shows up for one moment and is only brought back after Hussie forgot that he was a thing. Who has no other fucking reason to fight against Dirk or Terezi besides the fact he was just mind controlled by Lil Cal/LE/Caliborn.

The thing that kills me with the "katnep are siblings" theory, is that Karkat did the troll ectobiology. He sent the beta trolls first and the dancestors second to Beforus, and then the opposite in Alternia

That makes Signless/Disciple have more chances of actually being related than Karkat/Nepeta. That is, assuming that BeforusKarkat and BeforusNepeta fucked.

Kankri and Meulin get a pass because Meulin is in love with Kurloz. We learn nothing much about what they think about the other nor about how they feel about their adult selves being in love. That even extends to the Beforus ancestors. It's all a confusing mess when it comes to ectobiology and troll slurry. Like does that mean all the Beta Kids in general are siblings when John created them because they were born on that meteor itself? Or are they not because of the separate DNA each one is made from? Does it paradoxically make Karkat the father of the Beta Trolls he leads? So is he now considered an legal adult now and nobody can ship him with someone young because he is labeled as a dad? Most just go for the easy way and say "Don't think about it." At worst, people cherry pick which people are considered siblings. So things like Scourge Sisters for Vriska and Terezi, won't be a literal familial relationship for some.

My incredibly totally risky prediction is that the final, most terrible ship will involve Cronus (boring) If this fandom has any guts the final awful ship will be one of the many that actually made the comic worse.

Anything with Cronus is automatically a bad ship. Even a selfcest Cronus is awvful. Here is hoping that final ship is somehow involved either base webcomic or the shitty sequels. I can't believe I'm gonna go to bat for Act 6 here, or an Alpha Kid, but it's literally just because it's the right thing to do. Out of all 4 of the Alpha Kids Roxy is the one who is portrayed as the nicest. I hope this doesn't need pointing out if you know anything about Roxy, but the way she provides for the carapacians over herself is proof enough. Roxy made the matriorb because she's a hero, she doesn't need an incentive. Now, would it be more interesting if her and Dirk were racist against Alternians, and that is something that would color their future interactions with any trolls, maybe even eventually overcome though character development? Well, one of my friends says yes, and that it'd also be funny, but we work with what we're given.
