UGH. YEAH. I FEEL THIS COMPLETELY

Was on SSRIs for a long while, was not aware of this side effect.

Which is so so irritating because it has changed my sex drive so much. I’m much less respondent to it, if that makes sense. Especially when I was on them.

Also when I started them, my boyfriend noticed that even the things I liked had changed. I used to be pretty adventurous? But now the things I used to like don’t do it for me anymore. I feel like I’m more… tame, I guess.

Don’t get me started how while I was on them, it was extremely hard to even have an orgasm. I wasn’t able to have one until AFTER I had gotten off them.

Now whenever I get my meds adjusted, I refuse SSRIs. I won’t take them. Not like any of the ones I were on helped anyway 🙃

so are we going to talk about how SSRIs, even taken for short periods of time, cause long term sexual dysfunction that can, and for many people does, persist for decades after they stop taking the medication? were we ever going to talk about that? were any of my doctors ever going to warn me that taking this medication could damage my sex life permanently? are we going to talk about this in the context of the frankly alarming number of young people who are put on these medications as teenagers? or the sudden sharp rise in people id'ing as asexual? no?
