I know that there is a translation of this web article somewhere on twitter but I wanted to translate this one and put it as a whole on my tumblr in one place.

This is the article that confirms that Kei x Yaku has 9 episodes in total.

This article is NOT a direct interview but more like an article with quotes from Inukai, this is the article that reveals there are 9 episodes for this series in total. Inukai was not the one to say that there are 9 episodes. The article itself was the one who confirmed it.

I am not well familiar with Tokushima, it’s a small island within Japan, Chiba is nearer to Tokyo. Inukai moved to Chiba from Tokushima when he was young (from Magazine Edge interview). So I assume he's interviewing with Tokushima newspaper snice he was born there.

Actor Inukai Atsuhiro (27 years old) who is from Tokushima prefecture. He stars in a new drama called Kei x Yaku Dangerous partners (airing on Japanese channel very Wednesday at 11:59). The drama starting airing on the 13th of January. A public security officer Kunishita Ichirou and Yazuka member Hanabusa Shirou are in co-operation with each other and form a fake lovers contract to cover their tracks. In order to investigate a case that is unresolved form of a suspense drama. Nobuyuki Suzuki plays as the main character Ichirou who works together with Shirou who plays an important role played by Inukai. Staring in a major role in a new drama in the beginning of the New Year we spoke to Inukai.

Inukai this time plays a character Shirou who is thirsty for danger and yet has a sense of mystery to him. The 1st time Inukai had to dye his hair blond to match Shirou’s character he mentions “The 1st time I saw Shirou character he was similar to a character called Ash Lynx from the manga BANANA FISH. So based on that I tried to visualize his image similar to him and try to show his character that he has a sexy charm to himself”

So building on the basics he added “I act him out as mysterious as possible” In addition to the role Inukai adds that “The tone of his voice and expression change slightly, he works his way around the people he deals with in his own way. But whatever secrets and feelings he has he conceals within himself.” When we asked him about the “attractiveness” of the character he states “The character shows his charm and gestures naturally and you should pay attention to it”.

To devote oneself to become and mimic a completely different person as well as this character being at the edge of danger and action at the very corner. For Inukai who has been in Kamen Rider Build is well used to action scenes but for this role he is involved in a new kind of aggressive action. “For myself to be involved in such aggressive action is really refreshing and a new experience for me” Inukai states in addition he adds “The action scenes vary, if I were to say that Ichirou action scenes were very marital arts then Shirou action scenes are close to a more street fighter thug like style. When you see it in that way it’s really interesting”.

The whole drama consists of 9 episodes in total and are halfway filming the rest of the drama. Inukai comments on the development of the main two characters appeal “The development of the combination of Ichirou and Shirou will change over time, if it is for them to develop and change the outcome of the story overall. But for these two the work they have to do together they will encounter many hardships together. Watching these two go through various dangerous situations is very thrilling and heart pounding and I wish people to see that.”

Finally we asked Inukai about the appeal of Tokushima “I always return to Tokushima every year, the people in Tokushima are always friendly and kind and I feel a sense of warmth to the area when I am spending my days here. Similar to the famous musician Kenshi Yonezu who also was born in Tokushima, I want to carry my name and fame as an actor and show the pride of Tokushima were I came from. I want to help Tokushima in any way I can”. Inukai says as his message to Tokushima.
