I don't like Ghibli movies. But I wanted to give The Boy and the Heron a fair shot, so I went to see it. And I went in with a positive attitude, mind you. I wanted to like it.

It was the worst movie I've seen in a while and the worst Ghibli movie I've seen by FAR (granted, I've only seen like 4). 0/10 stars. Do not recommend. Idek who the fuck the target audience is. Dragging and kiddish in parts, so probably not for adults, but way too scary and gross for little kids. For preteens maybe?

But Ghibli fans are something else. All the reviews are wildly positive. Miyazaki could make a movie about bird shit and ppl would praise it lmao

I really appreciate that Anonymous;Code got a full ass English dub and hope that means the Infinity remakes will get them, but omg why are all the science adventure novels so not good lmao. I loved the Steins;Gate anime but everything I've played from it has not been good lol. I haven't finished A;C yet but I kinda stopped playing when main girl Chan was like "I was a brain but I spontaneously grew a body and that made satellites destroy several large cities on Earth" like WHAT that makes no sense at all

Binged Light the Night on Netflix and no one has their head screwed on right and literally everyone who died was terrible and annoying so the murderers were really just doing the world a favor tbh. Also super weak motives on most people's part and Sue is a fucking bitch I feel like the writers should have made her likable to show why Rose would ride or die for her but literally all we see is what a terrible person she is lmao. Yes her life sucks but instead of idk talking to her best friend about her problems she just decides to hate her friend and attempt to ruin her life lmao

Ok somewhere in dive 2 I gave up on normal mode in Baldr Sky cuz I kept dying lmao

I feel like there are plot points that made no sense in the game but overall it was pretty solid, and honestly the fact it had actual, good gameplay wins it several points over other highly-acclaimed mech visual novels (coughMUVLUVcoughFUCKTHATPIECEOFSHITcough).

Last like, three long VNs I read were not good so I'm just glad this one wasn't a waste of time. I still think the main couple's relationship is hella forced and main girl sucks though

K finished 4 dives, in the middle of Reminisce and I think I can safely say...(spoilers below)

I hate Sora so much and I'm not even on her route yet. So many better choices for MC kun. Like literally just about any other girl is a better choice (cept Makoto thank God shes hardly in the game lmao). Nanoha would be a weak choice too but at least like, they have history and didn't only know each other for a few months. I will flip a table if at the end of the true route they don't leave it kinda open so you can end up with whoever you want in your head

I've been playing the Steam version of Baldr Sky since it was on sale and I'd been eyeing it forever. Still on the first route but I'm liking it so far and the robot battles are way more fun than they have any business being. My only other experience with the Baldr universe was the Baldr Force OVA and reading reviews for this game, so I'm going in pretty blind (though the reviews spoiled The Big Bad, I think it'll still be an enjoyable ride).

I know plenty of ppl are mad about the censorship but like, we really don't need gratuitous sex scenes in visual novels. See: most of Uchikoshi's works (though I'm pretty sure he has written eroge and wouldn't be surprised if he wrote more). Anyway. I'm glad there's a version of Baldr Sky where I DON'T have to sit through H scenes, tbh. And since they edited out all the sex for this port, it's kinda fun to be like "oh ok that was definitely where a random ass H scene was" while playing.

I'm just hoping it doesn't have anything Muv-Luv levels of unsavory the further we go. Like I really don't understand how the version of Muv Luv on Steam was able to be placed there cuz even if you can't SEE anything, the descriptions are graphic as hell. No thank you.

ISLAND feels like what happens when a pedo with an incest fetish thinks they can write the next Infinity novel.

Gross factors aside, this game made me so mad cuz it had so many good ideas but the worst execution, terrible characters, and DRAGGED ON FOREVER. Kept thinking, HOPING it would get better, but no. The route that's *omg PLOT TWIST!!!* was somehow even more boring than the 3 that came before it. Oh yeah, and also the whole premise of that route makes no sense and the true ending implies things will never end 8D

I've been playing a lot of idle/afk games and I don't get the appeal. Like, I'm playing them just to play them but they certainly aren't fun. Maybe everyone just plays them to play them and aren't really enjoying it???

Ys IX is so good guys. Like one of the most fun games I've ever played, battle-system wise. And the exploration is super innovative.

I used to be a HUGE tales of fangirl, still give each new one a try even, but Ys has taken over Tales of as the OP JARPG series. Tales of battle hasn't been fun since Xillia II and I don't remember the last time I actually cared about the story...maybe Abyss?? I hated graces, Vesperia had some good points but the battle is too clunky, literally don't even know what happened in Zestiria or Berseria even though I sat through them both, and Arise was like ok this is fine I guess, typical JRPG fare, and then the last part was so dumb and boring (and the environments got ugly and lazy). And tbh all the casts have just been a letdown since Symphonia (no, "edgy" Yuri doesn't do it for me and while Abyss was fun and had a good story I didn't LOVE any of the characters). Like, most of the casts have been FINE, or had at least a few decent characters, but none of them have been my friends for 40+ hours like the ToS cast were.

Anyway, all this to say, if you have felt let down by tales of and crave a really fucking solid JARPG , Ys VIII and IX may not have the best plot or characters (though they both have very serviceable ones and I love Dana) but holy shit is the gameplay what the recent tales of should aspire to be. Hoping the next one will also have amazing characters.

Ok so I want to replay this game I remember next to nothing about and try its sequels/spin offs I never got around to but I can't because the PS4 doesn't have ports for ancient obscure horny weeb games. All I really remember is there are singing magic robot girls that make you stronger in battle and that you "dive" into them by "inserting crystals" which is very sexual and uncomfortable. Oh yeah and the battle system didn't make sense. Also the music fucking slaps which is the main reason I have any interest in revisiting it. EXEC_CHRONICLE=KEY still gives me feels. I think the story was kind of cool too but I don't remember it at all
