side event 010. ✧ lgc sports festival !
Tumblr media
the bones in her body are hardly made of anything worthwhile. at least, not anything that would guarantee her success when it comes to anything related to athleticism. however, fei’s lack of physical strength she makes up for with will. so as she stands some few meters in front of the archery mark, she stares down that yellow circle as if it’s the only thing standing between her and remarkable triumph.
truth be told, she’s never done this before. her exposure to sports was limited to those of what was included in her school’s physical education curriculum. archery wasn’t one of them. she would probably have better luck with the other team sports but because she’s allowed her ambitious streak to lead her away, there she was strapped in this archery paraphernalia she couldn’t even be bothered to learn the name of. she thinks this may be simple enough—aim, release, and pray to your lucky stars that the arrow would land exactly where she hopes it would.
but it seems it’s much more complicated than that.
suddenly, the target appears farther than how it looked like moments ago. now, even more so, hitting the center felt like a task she couldn’t possibly be able to achieve. her arms were suddenly shaky and her breathing coming in a little too quickly. then again there’s no quitting now; she’s dug herself a hole so she better lie in it.
fei thinks for a fleeting moment how she’d fair if she decided to do the hurdles instead. as quickly as the thought comes, she banishes it. heaven help her limbs and lack of coordination if she’s forced herself to jump and run. archery is definitely the lesser evil of all the individual sports they had to partake in.
soon enough it was her turn. lifting the bow and arrow to the appropriate length, she squints at the target with utmost determination. taking a deep breath, she pulls back, letting the arrow go the same time she releases the breath she was holding in.
before she could even register what has happened, the arrow found its mark.
fei immediately squealed in excitement, jumping up and down in delight. while she wasn’t able to lodge her arrow right in the very middle, she did comparatively better than her expectations. as her arrow founds its home within the spaces of the inner red circle, the young trainee believes she’s warranted some sort of tiny celebration.
sure she wouldn’t be able to take home that coveted olive young coupon but it’s okay; she’s proud of her little accomplishment anyway.

the notion that there is always something left for her to discover never fails to surprise her. sometimes, fei would like to believe that she has it all figured out. that the trainee and of course, the idol life were no longer a pair of two mysteries to her. after all, she’s been training for two years—surely, she already knows everything there is to know. however, each time they thrust something new into her hands and she’s left gaping in shock and subsequently, excitement. apparently, this life would be an endless discovery much to her astonishment.
this exactly what she felt going through those different versatility workshops. while fei was not a hundred percent invested in all of them, she cannot deny that her interest was piqued. she definitely had fun too even if she did so poorly during the acting workshops that she can only laugh at herself.
with the costumes, she thinks she has a little bit of a leverage. while she’s not exactly a fashion forward person, she follows trends and likes dressing up well enough to not feel like she’s embarrassing herself with every movement. “right? i’m surprised too.” she says in agreement, eyes scanning the rows and rows of clothing presented before them. “it’ll be really cool if we could, though. it would be nice to pick out my own costume someday especially if that’ll save me from wearing frills, a randomly cut up dress, or a plastic bag made to look like a dress.” she shudders.

thus far, hyejoo has found all of the versatility workshops helpful and somewhat relaxing after everything they had to do last trimester. it’s far easier for her to listen and learn and marvel at the guests that had gone from dream high roles to now being established industry seniors, and she can only hope she would be like this in a few years, but she also tells herself not to expect too much — so few make it in this industry, and even fewer still get to the point that they are, and there would be a long road ahead of her regardless.
so she decides to focus on the present, which is one of her new year resolutions — that she would think about what’s happening now instead of being sidetracked by the anxieties of the future and the failures of the past. it’s easier said than done, but it’s not so hard when she has fei with her for this workshop.
“i’ve never thought about outfits like this…” she muses, looking at her friend with her head tilted to one side and her pen tapping against the notebook that she had been writing on. not that she didn’t have an interest in fashion, but her usual style had always been comfortable and casual, with a lot of basics that she could mix and match without putting too much thought into it. “i mean, i guess i just kind of assumed that we wouldn’t get much of a say in anything we wore once we debuted? but isn’t it kind of fun?”

♡・゚dream of you
lgchyejoo:
the way fei gets excited about the cupcakes makes her excited as well, and she wonders if maybe she had rejected the idea too soon. yes, cupcakes were a bit messy and a little hard to transport, but wouldn’t it be cute if they bought the boxes and tied them with little ribbons? they can decorate the icing with sparkly sprinkles and different candies as well. but logistically, maybe it would be too difficult, and if they fall over while they’re being carried over then they’ll get ruined anyways.
but she thinks macarons would be just as nice, especially if they turn out well and puff up like they’re supposed to, and then they can wrap them up nicely in packages with a bow, and won’t have to worry about them being too messy. “let’s try macarons today, and if they turn out terrible then we can have cupcakes as a plan b. we can probably just get boxes for them? but that’s a little difficult so…” she smiles, looking up from her screen. “fingers crossed this works!”
she looks back to the recipes that she had found, turning the screen toward the other girl so she could see. “there are so many different flavors too! what should we do? i think strawberry might be cute because then they’ll be pink? but matcha sounds like it would taste good? or maybe we can do both?”
fei’s skills in the kitchen were limited to that of what her grandmother has taught her. this means she cannot expect herself to be quite the baking connoisseur as hyejoo appears to be. the older trainee just seems to carry with her an air of confidence so much that fei feels as though there would be nothing to worry about because even if this first attempt would fail their expectations, it’s okay. they can try again, and again, and again. well, hopefully, they don’t have to go through three tries.
“that sounds like a plan!” she smiles, giddy as she’s just ready to get her hands moving. “i think it would be nice to do both. strawberry and matcha feels like the perfect flavor to go with and the colors usually end up looking pretty.” going for both taste and aesthetic in their fan gift makes for the optimum plus points in the eyes of the fans. nothing quite like a gift that tastes good, but is also pretty enough to take pictures of! fei knows she’d love to see posts about their present on social media.
“what were the flavors of the macarons you made before?” she asks curiously, eyeing the ingredients on the screen before lifting her gazes to look at her friend. “this can’t end up badly if you’ve made amazing ones last time!” the fact that things may possibly go wrong has nothing against her express faith in hyejoo.

✧ nobody gets me,
lgcjunkyu:
Tumblr media
[ ... ]
truthfully, junkyu needed this. christmas was a fun time of the year, it was more of a romantic holiday in korea and this time of year was one where most people would feel the love all around. and while junkyu did, it was also a time where he would find himself feeling a bit more melancholy. deep down, he knew that talking about it is the best thing to do, but those who knew it more knew of his reserved like nature which makes it hard for him to speak about some things. this being one, but with fei, he doesn’t worry much because they both understood. junkyu nods along, humming lowly, agreeing. “i’ve not been sleeping as much as i’d like lately, but i’m sorta putting that down to the holiday season and the remembrance that i probably won’t have a christmas with my family.” it was the sad truth, and he genuinely wonders if he’ll ever see his parents over the holidays ever again. he hadn’t since he became a trainee, and it was a bitter feeling. this time of the year made him feel lonely. “i guess this is what we have to do, huh? i always try to look at the good side of it. at least we’re steps closer to the possibility of debuting, right?” he acknowledges, turning his head to glance at fei with a small, bittersweet smile on his face. he can’t help but chuckle slightly, dropping his head down a bit before glancing back up. “it’s okay, i think.. i might have plans? i’m not too sure yet, hopefully it works out though.” he shakes his head. “nope, just a brief text saying ‘merry christmas, work hard!’ not sure why i expected anything more.”
fei would like to believe that she is not overly sentimental. when things get tough, she does not wallow; she pushes through. allowing herself a few moments of relishing in her emotions was about the kindest thing she could ever do for herself. after that, it’s picking up and waving off the metaphorical dust of sadness, or frustration, or anger. then she moves on exactly where she left off. in fact, the teenager hardly ever cries. expressing her emotions in its entirety is a foreign concept to her, much more than the life she’s living at that moment. to be vulnerable and to share a part of her soul with someone is not something she takes lightly. indeed, it takes a special crop of people for that.
she supposes junkyu had entered that special crop of people. it wasn’t difficult to let him in—especially when they share just about the same insecurities. when they talk about these things, she never has to worry that she’ll be greeted by a pitying face because he understands. he can empathize and to her, that is truly the only thing that matters.
it was easy to unload, to talk freely, when she’s comfortable. in a lot of ways this little bench in this little park has become one of her safe spaces. after all, it is only in here where she can divulge and have no fears where her words would lead her. “ugh, i feel you.” she groans. “why does every christmas related thing has to be so colorful, cheerful, and very family oriented? i’m offended.” fei likes christmas, she truly does but she cannot help but think that the holiday season serves as a reminder of all the wholesome family connection that she’s lost through time. of the traditions that fell apart, the presents that were never wrapped, the feasts that were halfheartedly made, and most of all, the merry christmases that never quite reached the soul. through the years, she’s tried building her own traditions but some memories are not easily lost. she knows some never will but she hopes that the new ones will be strong enough to outweigh the old. “yeah, that’s a nice way to put it. i’m sure all of this hard work will be worth it in the end if that means debuting, making music..” she trails off with a small smile on her lips. “in the meantime, we’ll just have to sweat it out i guess.” shrugging, she crosses one leg over another, leaning her head back to look at the spotless sky. “i hope it works out! if not, let me know then we can come up with something.” she smiles, throwing him a quick glance. at his next words, fei cannot help but make a face. “that’s very christmassy, huh.” she deadpans, shaking her head. “unfortunately, that’s what we always do. expect. i’m actually still waiting on my christmas message but i think it’ll be just as sunny as yours.”

“Probably, if you see me walk like I have clay legs tomorrow, you’ll know what’s up,” Céleste answered. “Honestly, who wouldn’t? The trainers seem to be in a bad mood today, all of them I mean. Practises are getting a lot worse too. Wonder if something’s up with the company these days, or if it’s just a case of everyone being stressed. Oh well,” she commented absentmindedly. She patted the area around her for her water bottle, and upon finding it, tried to fountain it, only to have the water squirt all over her face.
Céleste checked the time, and immediately sat up. “We have four minutes and a half until practice resumes, want to start those stretches now?”
“that’ll probably happen to me too.” she comments, shaking her head. why couldn’t she have been born with adept muscles and an affinity for dancing too? life would have been easier. “right? i wonder what went up their noses for them to be acting like this.” thinking about all that they have already been put through makes her want to whine but knowing how that will reflect terribly on her, she lays down steaming in her own exhaustion instead. “sucks that we have to suffer just because they can’t handle their stress, though.” the younger says with a frown.
it fees like they have only been resting for a few seconds and already, they have to be up on their feet again. “only four minutes left?” she sighs but nevertheless pulled herself up to stand. “let’s do it then. maybe it could help ease the pain a little bit!”

the thought of being out there, meeting people, exploring different avenues that she normally would not have thought was possible was exhilarating. when she had auditioned for the company, she was miles away from south korea and knew only the barest of information with regard to what life was like as a trainee. while she was not wholly ignorant, fei cannot deny that she knew very little. the teenager even thought that all she is set out to do was to come in, train for extensive hours, leave, and repeat. never did she think she would be allowed to participate in grand scale events like the one they’re about to join.
she supposes two years later and she should have been used to it. however, she’s still a wide-eyed young girl, except perhaps with a lot more subtlety.
“ohhh,” she says, glancing at the older girl with a spark of excitement in her eyes. “cupcakes would be really yummy. we can even decorate the icing with lots of cute candies!” thinking about the technicalities, she mellows down a little. “but yeah, it might be a little messy. if not, we might have to buy a lot of those individual cupcake boxes and that sounds a bit wasteful.”
pursing her lips, fei thinks through their options with utmost seriousness. they do want to give nice gifts to the fans so decisions like this shouldn’t be taken lightly. “macarons would be nice! we can do a trial run today?” she asks, a smile on her lips. “you’ll have to guide me though because i know nothing about it!” she laughs.

she thinks the fact that they get to compete in this sports festival is just a little bit crazy, since she’s watched these types of athletic idol shows when she was younger, and now she’s going to compete in them instead of looking at them from behind a tv screen. but what’s even more crazy to her is the fact that they have actual, real life fans? or maybe they’re not really fans of her, exactly, and they’re probably more for the boys than anything else anyways, but even still she feels like it’s kind of heartwarming to have people cheering for her as she’s playing these games.
“what do you think we should make?” she asks her friend as she scrolls down on her phone at all the different recipes, excited to make these gifts for the fans, but especially excited that she can do it with her friend. “i thought cupcakes, but cupcakes are a little too messy if we have to transport them? unless we put them in boxes. and cookies are nice but will too many people make cookies?”
hyejoo bites on her lower lip, feeling her brain working overtime just for this and looking to fei for opinions. “or maybe we can do macarons? they’re a little difficult but i made them last time and i think they came out pretty good?” but there’s always a chance that they fail, and she wouldn’t want to gift the fans deflated, misshapen macarons. “or maybe if they turn out ugly we can just bake regular cookies instead?”

trainee mission 005.  ✧ week four performance: i’m your girl by s.e.s !
Tumblr media
the eight-week show was halfway over; the realization hits her with a sadness she couldn’t quite explain.
as someone who did not grow up listening to any of the songs that they performed or were about to perform, fei does not harbor any nostalgic feelings for it. it was not quite like that of the other trainees who had some of the songs already memorized because of childhood familiarity or some sort. not like some of them who expressed elated reactions upon receiving their music sheets because they were excited to perform something they grew up listening to on the radio or watching on music shows. to her, it was different.
these songs did not possess with it any nostalgia when she listens to them. if anything, they were all new to her ears; especially the ones that were released before she was born. having been born a sea and an entire culture away, her musical influences were different. however, she’s pleased to realize that this fact did not take away from her ability to appreciate what their songs are. if anything, she loves them even more.
fei was surprised to find out just how much she actually likes the songs they have performed thus far. while most of them required a lot of performance energy they weren’t overly complicated enough that she’d have to curse dancing. she just had to amplify her stage enthusiasm and she should be all good.
this week’s song was i’m your girl, a piece she immediately fell in love with upon first listen. there was something comforting about the song and she likes its upbeat and fun flair. when it was time to perform the song, she finds herself smiling throughout the performance. as soon as she steps foot on that stage and upon hearing the first few notes of the song, her spirits were already lifted.
the fact that the song relied on good vocals means she gets to show off. the eighteen-year-old trainee tried her best to leave a good impression when her parts came along. there wasn’t a lot because she had to share the song with the other junior trainees but she hopes that she was remarkable enough to be remembered. even with such thoughts, she did not forget to enjoy her performance. bringing along a smile with every step that she takes.
once they were done filming, she steps off the stage with a relieved smile. another week, another performance finished. as they approach the fifth out of the eight-week show, she thinks maybe she should relish in this experience more. it was after all, quite a happy affair performing the songs that built the industry they’re living in.

trainee mission 005. ✧ sketch portion for tell me by wonder girls !
Tumblr media
these sketches were fun to film albeit most of the time she has to admit they were sort of cringeworthy. perhaps that was her age influencing her thoughts; adhering more to things naturally considered trendy means there are times when she had to do something that makes her bite down on her lower lip to prevent herself from saying something she might regret. or things where she’d had to close her eyes in embarrassment shortly after she’s done doing it.
these sketches were often some of it.
or perhaps it’s just in her personality. fei doesn’t see the appeal of having to stand in some portion of the stage and act prettily, adorably, or seriously depending on the mood that their performance requires. as someone who doesn’t have the talent for acting or modeling, she thinks she wouldn’t appear well on camera the way the other trainees would. so filming these sections would usually have her counting down the minutes until her part was over. until then, she would have to smile, gaze at the camera intensely, or do something else that the production deems necessary for the introduction.
the fun was mostly because it was the calm before the onslaught of performances. aside from that, it was nice seeing the stage before she was to dance on it or to see what paraphernalia was decorated to give the performances a more unique appeal.
when she was called to film her portion, fei wastes no time. to be quick about it means she could finish earlier. they were tasked to act sweetly; smile, wink, maybe blow a kiss, or if you’re feeling particularly brave, do all of the above. since she’s not and never really was when it comes to these things, fei opted just to smile. she looks at the lenses of the camera as it pans over her with the warmest smile she can muster. even so, that apparently requires a lot of re-filming.
standing there for around twenty minutes being asked to the same thing or try another thing worries her. she couldn’t have looked that bad, right? however, when the production director finally calls cut, there’s a smile on his face which she returns with a look of utmost gratitude. when she takes a peek at what she’s done, she’s slightly relieved. it wasn’t her best but it definitely wasn’t her worst too. for that, she’s content. when it comes to this she doesn’t feel like she had to show up too much.
with that, she steps off the stage as another person was called. now, it’s time to prepare for the performance and that’s another thing on its own.

lgctsuki:
if last week she got to rap and next week involves a song even more challenging that will force her to show her vocals again, she decides this is the right moment to go for it and prepare to walk up to the stage confidently. not that she would suddenly become a great singer like the other girl, but she could at least try to close the gap. no matter where her talents were, tsuki didn’t want to look limited in such a competitive industry. she managed to develop a skill, so why not others?
tsuki smiles, relieved and thankful. there’s no point repeating her lines if she was doing it wrong, but she trusted fei to point out what it was and show her the right way to sing it. this, or she would have to ask a coach for help and she was pretty sure they wouldn’t be as patient as the younger girl. “i don’t know… doesn’t it sound a bit flat?” she shrugs, unable to tell if it was the issue or not. “thank you! i think it will be easier to follow your lead,” she says, eyes moving to the lyrics sheet out of habit.
Tumblr media
although the thought of food made her want to skip practice and go straight to the reward, it motivated her to give her best and finish this quickly. “i know!” she giggles, proud of knowing the other trainee so well. “we need energy for the dance practice later so it’s a deal! say what you want and we’ll get it,” she grins, then shakes her head lightly and prepares to sing along. as expected, even if it’s still confusing, it does feel different (and better). “oh oh i think it get it now!” she says excitedly. tsuki sings again, this time by herself, and turns to fei for her opinion. “better, no?”
tilting her head to the side, fei tried her best to recall just what she head from the older female moments ago but as expected, her short term memory fails her just then. “let’s figure it out together!” she says instead. truthfully, she doesn’t think she heard anything wrong. if she did, her lack of filter means she would’ve reacted already. even if it was just a look of confusion or a wrinkle of her nose. the fact that she didn’t means it was all good. either that or she just wasn’t paying enough attention as she should.
“ohh, i think the street food tent just around the corner should be open by now? maybe we can go there!” it was absolutely one of her favorite places to eat at because of the scrumptious food and the cheap prices. for someone who’s hardly making bank, fei likes to think she’s slowly starting to master the art of locating the cheapest food places that seoul has to offer. the street food tent near the company was one of her tried and trusted. she was positive the other trainees can attest to its goodness.
good things must wait, though, as the two began to sing in chorus. while she’s always been critical of herself when it comes to singing, it was a bit challenging to be the same when it comes to her friends. she did pick up where she felt the older was lacking but before she can comment, tsuki beat her to it. fei can only laugh, watching the other girl with an amused and adoring expression. when tsuki gives it another go, fei raises both of her hands for a moderated applause. “yeah, that was better! i was just about to say that was where i felt you fell a little but you picked it up quickly. you’re such a quick learner!” she smiles.

✧ nobody gets me,
lgcjunkyu:
Tumblr media
this time of year was the time that junkyu had an unbalanced sort of relationship with it. the cold nights and nippy mornings made him not want to leave his bed, would rather curl up into a ball and let his duvet devour him whole. it made getting up difficult, and as much as he bulked up with layers and scarves and puffy jackets, for some reason he could always still feel the cold air nipping at his skin. snow however, he leaned more towards positive feelings for it. as annoying as it could be sometimes, it was relaxing, nice, and junkyu quite enjoyed talking walks through the park when it was snowing.
and surprisingly, that’s what he finds himself doing. dressed up in many layers and all cozy, he makes sure he’s ready to battle winter the moment he steps outside. with the park as his destination, he slowly makes his way there, enjoying and appreciating the snow as it falls and settles on the ground.
the park isn’t too busy, in fact, it was the perfect balance of peace mixed with presence and the initial walk through was so relaxing. content, the soft voices of children dotted around the park, the odd few playing with the little amount of snow that was on the ground - this was the holiday season. his usual bench is free upon arrival, so he heads straight over and sits down, stretching his legs out in front of him while his hands dig deeper into his pockets (he came prepared, with a heat warmer in each pocket - on days like this he’d never leave the dorm without at least one). the familiar voice calling out his name breaks him away from his thoughts, watching the younger girl sit beside him. “fancy seeing you here,” junkyu says, a joking tone underlying his words. both of them knew why they were there, deep down. “as good as i can be. how about you?” not exactly the truth, but not exactly a lie. “i wish i did, but i don’t think i have much to say, to be honest. nostalgia is really fun, challenging but fun. not going home to see my parents over the holidays.”
it was difficult to be comfortable when they’re seated in a wooden bench that was just minutes ago caked in a layer of snow. yet with the amount of times that they have both been in this very chair, it was as though her body recognized the familiarity of it all. that on instinct, she crosses one leg over another, one shoulder draped over the arm of the bench as if it was a piece of furniture that belongs to her. perhaps in some ways it does because really, who else goes here at the same frequency as they do? at least enough to feel like she’s practically molded into this bench.
truthfully, aside from the parents and their children, they were the only ones here. no other sane teenagers or twenty-somethings would find themselves in a park, talking to someone as if you would a therapist. well, no one that she knows of.
at his greeting she stifles a laugh. not that because it was particularly funny in itself but because they are definitely the only ones who will know what it means. when they’re both here, it’s because they both knew that something isn’t right before they even get to talk about it.  so many thoughtful words and questions exchanged between them in the amount of time they have known each other. being here was a code only fei and junkyu knows about. “i’m doing good too. tired but to be honest, when are we ever not?” such is the life that they have. exhaustion was just part of the life that they’ve chosen. if someone isn’t feeling like so, then they must be doing something differently. “right? i like that we get to do something different every week but it definitely requires a lot of work.” crossing her arms, she leans back a little as junkyu talks about his holiday plans. or lack thereof, so it seems. “oh, well, if you need tips on holiday entertainment, i can tell you a thing or two.” she hasn’t seen hers in two years, she’d like to think she has something to dispense. “did they ask you to come though?”

✧ from the top,
lgcgayoon:
Tumblr media
Céleste loves practise, she really does. But when Fei slid down the wall beside her, utterly exhausted, Céleste felt that. Droplets of sweat were dripping down her face, and her shirt felt entirely soaked. Her weakness was already dance, and it didn’t help that the choreography was basically a glorified artistic form of potato sack racing with all its constant jumps. By the time the group reached the halfway point of practice, Céleste’s eyes were already glued onto the clock, silently waiting for break time.
So when their trainer finally finally lets them off break, Céleste stumbled immediately to the wall where her water bottle was, unceremoniously dropped onto her butt, etiquette be damned. “My legs are too tired for my brain to process that it hurts,” she commented, looking up to Fei as she shifted to a more comfortable position on the floor. Lying on her back, she continued, “I don’t know, maybe she sold her soul to the devil? I mean, I would too.” Deciding to temporarily throw away her sense of shame, Céleste started staring at the ceiling. She patted the floor beside her. “Lie down and rest while you can. This is still the warmup for the main practice. Last five minutes of break we’ll do some stretches, sound good? Great.” And with that, she closed her eyes (for the time being).
before signing with the company, her experience with dancing had been meager. at most, they were just school performances that were done for the purpose of fun and engagement. here, what they are doing feels like a make-or-break type of thing; the dances, no matter how tiring they are, have to be executed to near perfection or else repercussions will be faced. if it’s not in the words of their trainers, then it’s definitely in the criticisms of the people who will be watching them. fei wouldn’t want to be at the receiving end of either.
she was no prodigy when it comes to dancing, which is why she supposes she’s having such a hard time sometimes. while she’s definitely improved since her first dance practice, the eighteen-year-old knows she still has a long way to go. “me too. i think our brains are delayed and might only start processing the pain tomorrow.” when it’s time to jump out of bed and every move feels like their muscles are being prodded on. crossing her arms over her chest, she huffs as she thinks about the sheer talent one must’ve had to be as skillful as her. “if that’s the only way, i’d be ready to give myself up too.” scrunching her nose, she thinks about how strange they might sound like to anyone who didn’t know them. “i can’t believe that was just the warm up. it’s like they exist to make us truly suffer or something.” she says sarcastically, following the older’s instructions as she lays down beside her.

the variety in the weekly performances help pique her enthusiasm in a significant manner. fei feels excited to enter the practice room every day because she knew there would be something to learn about that is quite different from the day before. the young trainee knows it was a blessing to feel that way. after all, a two year trainee like herself ought to feel burnout by now. she’s glad there doesn’t seem to be even an inkling of it thus far.
but if there is anything that is exhausting with the changes in performances is that just as when she thought she finally masters the first song, suddenly, they’re moving on to the next. it means an extra amount of work; remarkable efforts or else she would be falling behind. fei cannot have that.
“oh, of course, of course!” she quips, leaning closer to the older girl as she takes a peak at the music sheet she’s holding. “are you sure? you sound good when we were doing it earlier.” with a quick wave of her hand, she smiles. “but okay let’s try then after maybe you can go alone so i can pick up what you’re hearing.”
she reads through the line tsuki was pointing to earlier and was ready to cue them when she’s suddenly distracted by the promise of dinner. “let’s hurry then!” she says with a laugh. “you know i’ll never turn down food.” raising her hand, she cues them as she lifts her fingers to count to three. at three, she sings along with the other, making sure to keep her ear out to listen intently.

one thing at a time. first, she will make sure she won’t stand out like a sore thumb on stage when it comes to her singing, then she can start thinking about dancing that thankfully is not too complex this time but for some reason tsuki can’t shake off the feeling that she’d end up slapping herself in the middle of the performance with that arm move.
watching fei sing as they practice, she can’t help but look at the other with admiration. some people were born gifted and, even if she was not one of them, tsuki was glad she had enough determination to improve and the help from her dear (and very patient) friends. “fei, can you sing this part with me? i don’t know… it doesn’t sound right when i do it.” she whines, pointing to the highlighted verse on her sheet, the only one she’s singing this time.
to be honest, she’s tired and a little frustrated, but she wasn’t as familiar with the song as the korean trainees probably were, so she couldn’t get up and slack off. reaching for a bag of chips, she eats one and quietly offers some to the younger girl. “please help me out so we can finish this and go grab dinner somewhere. my treat!” she suggests with a grin. —  @lgcfei ♡

✧ from the top,
@lgcgayoon
there are moments when the exhaustion dulls her sense of reality. when she’s been practicing for too much for a considerable amount of time that the seconds and the minutes seem to slow down. suddenly, it feels as though they are hours away from the supposed rest period. the heavy weight of her body and her sweat slicked back making every moment feel as excruciating even though truth be told, it probably wasn’t even all that bad.
so when their coach tells them that they can rest for fifteen minutes, she all but fell face first into the floor.
of course she didn’t, though. there is still some semblance of decorum left in her. however, she did drag her way through the other side of the room, sliding down the wall into a sitting position with all the energy left in her.
“i can’t do it anymore.” she says to the female next to her, lolling her head to the side to properly look at gayoon. “all that bouncing around is making my head hurt. how did the original singer manage to store this much energy in all her performances? i need to know.” perhaps she’s being quite the drama queen but she’d say it’s part of her exhaustion. “gayoon, you have to help me keep it up.”

✧ nobody gets me,
@lgcjunkyu
bundled in the thickest jacket she can find, she wallows in her thoughts as she watches her shoe print leave marks on the layer of snow that coats the pavement. fei has somewhat of a love-hate relationship with this season. while she quite likes the cold and the fact that snow means the holidays are coming, she doesn’t care much for the seasonal sadness that usually comes along with it. how was it that the deeper she burrows herself in her blankets, the more that her thoughts becomes all the more consuming? she doesn’t get it.
she supposes this is why she’s here, though—an attempt to unravel her thoughts with someone who understands her enough to help pick things apart with her.
“choi junkyu,” the younger girl says as a way of greeting, plopping herself down on the space next to the male in the otherwise isolated park’s bench. fei releases a sigh, watching as her breathe materializes like smoke before her very eyes. “how are you?” she asks genuinely, glancing at him from the corner of her eye. “anything new you’d like to tell me about?” she asks cheekily, crossing her arms as she leans back on the seat comfortably. “maybe you’d have more exciting things to share. my life is so boring all i can say about it is that i’m enjoying nostalgia a lot. other than that it’s just—“ waving a hand. “nothing.”

vlive prompt 004.  ✧ welcome to fei’s autumn kitchen !
Tumblr media
the knowledge and skills she possesses when it comes to cooking are quite robust, all thanks to the guidance of her grandmother. the eighteen year old can remember with utmost fondness some of her early teenaged memories spent sitting in her nainai’s kitchen, watching as she turns an array of fresh ingredients into something delectable. quite frankly, if there is anything that she misses the most about china, it would be her grandmother and her cooking.
which was why the decision to use her recipe for this autumn themed video came as an easy one.
“hello everyone!” she waves to the camera as soon as her cue began. “it’s me, fei, back on your screens to share with all of you my favorite fall recipe.” she finishes off her first spiel with a smile on her lips, the rise in her voice alluding to the excitement that she feels.
“fall is probably one of my favorite seasons because of the way the leaves would turn a pretty shade of orange and because after such a very warm summer, finally, it’s about the get cold again.” getting her audience to relate was always a plus, she thinks. yet more than anything it’s truly an honest sentiment although perhaps just minced more nicely. fei absolutely abhors summer but of course she wouldn’t be so callous in expressing that. “and since fall brings us some cold days and nights, i thought, what better recipe to share than something that can hopefully bring you comfort? technically this hot and sour soup can be made anytime in the year but personally, i enjoy it the most during the fall season.”
with that, she begins introducing the ingredients they will use for the cooking session. fei makes sure to emphasize just how easy it is to make and how it can be made with a variety of ingredients depending on someone’s preference. “the one i will be making with you today is the recipe that i learned from my grandmother. not to be biased but i think she makes the best hot and sour soup.” she laughs.
once every food item was accounted for, she begins.
first, fei goes through the process of marinating the chosen meat. quite meticulously, she explains each step she goes through as if she’s actually hosting a cooking show wherein the people who are watching would be hanging on to every word that falls off of her lips. then, she begins sautéing her vegetables. as she waits for the vegetables to cook, she entertains her audience with conversation on things such as where she’s learned how to cook and the best advice she’s learned from her grandmother. “i wish you guys can smell how good it is. it’s making me so excited to eat!” was her enthusing energy, looking at the camera with a bright smile.
as she pours in the liquid, she did it a bit carelessly and squeals when a few sloshed over the side of her pot. “no!” she whines softly, pouting as she looks at the small puddle that fell on the stove, and then at the camera. “be careful! don’t be like me, okay?” she says, winking.
she continues with the rest of the steps until it was finally time to add the whisked egg as a finishing touch. “now we’re on to our last step! to make a beautiful egg drop in the soup, we will slowly pour in our whisked egg on one hand while stirring the soup with a pair of chopsticks on another. are you ready?” nodding her head a the camera, she proceeds to do as she says with intense focus. once all the egg was in, she cheers in delight. “wohoo! perfect!” she says, wiggling her body in a victorious dance.
“just like that, we have your amazing hot and sour soup!” pouring a ladle filled soup in a small bowl, she picks up her utensils to give it a try. “best enjoyed when it’s still steaming! just make sure to blow on it carefully so you don’t burn yourself.”
taking a sip, she closes her eyes as the familiar taste greets her tastebuds. hmmm, that’s really good.” fei can’t stop smiling. maybe it’s because she thinks she’s done a really good job at this and she’s just extremely pleased with herself. as she takes another spoonful, she can’t help but rave about it more to the still recording camera.
“everyone! if you make this at home, tell me how it went, okay? that’s all for me today. again, it’s fei and i hope to see you next time! bye!” just like when she started, she waves at the camera. as the recording stops and she begins helping the staff clean up, the young girl encourages everyone to try one of the few times she’s brought a piece of her home to her current life.

hello everyone !! this is keith ( 21+, gmt+8 ) with my first muse here and i’m very excited to finally be able to join lgc ♡ i’m still in the process of figuring out everything so i apologise in advance for any inevitable no thoughts, head empty moments on my end. with that being said, here we have my extremely dedicated muse xiao jingfei !!! i don’t have an extensive plots page for her at the moment but i do have her profile and bio set up. i also wrote some quick info as well as some potential plots under the cut for efficiency’s sake ~ if you’d like to plot please like this post so i can take that as a cue to head to your dms !! i’m also reachable through twitter @crwnofwishes or discord scarletrose#9866 ❤️
INFO
xiao jingfei, who often goes by fei is a ‘02 liner and a scorpio sun!
she grew up in shanghai, china and lived there until she had to move to south korea after winning her audition
has been a legacy trainee since july 2018 and her main focus is on vocals 🎤
since she’s only been in korea for two years, her speaking abilities are still a constant work-in-progress but she’d like to believe she’s getting better everyday!
becoming a singer is her lifelong dream so she wouldn’t stop grinding until she gets to achieve that
she also has an emotional attachment to singing so much that she regards it as a constant companion and an escape
winning her audition for lgc was really hitting two birds with one stone for her: she gets to leave her family situation in china and finally take the first step to the achievement of her dreams!
a very sweet and friendly girl overall but is the type to hold longstanding grudges and be vengeful when she feels that she’s been particularly wronged
other than that !!! she’s really all smiles and good energy 🥰
also!! on her last year of high school and is so excited to be done with it so she can focus on training full time 💯
10/10 would be the type to pull out a guitar in the most random of moments and play a song everyone knows so they can all join in on her impromptu jamming session
POTENTIAL PLOTS
friends!!! best friends!! anyone she can just laugh and be happy with!!
interactions/connections with junior trainees evening session and girls from dorm a!!!
someone who can help her improve with her korean, please 🥺 ( a. either you go for the #toughlove route and force her to speak with you ONLY in korean even though you also know how to speak her other languages or b. you’re the nicest, sweetest person who’s ever taught her the language )
someone she goes to the same high school with?? ( will prob be based on where your muse goes to school at since i haven’t specified where she’ll go )
someone who can show her around the city!!
an older brother/sister figure who basically taught her the ropes of living in seoul ( i.e. how to take public transpo, showed her the best places to eat, drew her away from tourist traps, etc. )
or alternatively, an older brother/sister figure who helped/is still helping her assimilate in the entertainment industry
someone who has had the misfortune of witnessing her anger once and could never see her the same way again
a senior trainee she can look up to when it comes to singing!
someone who can help her with dancing!
someone she can practice playing her acoustic guitar with wherein most of the time it just turns into a fun jamming session
everything else let’s brainstorm!! ❤️
