she could never quite get used to the cameras in her face, even no longer being classed as a ‘newer’ trainee. there’s a slight timid pose in the way she stands, hands folded over each other as they rest in front of her. then the red button signals the start of the recording, and hanae takes a deep breath and smiles. the perk in her voice resonates through the room, the smile still visible on her face. “have you ever heard someone sing while hula hooping? have you ever heard someone sing while hula hooping doing a hand stand? i’m about to show you.” it’s the pros of her long history of gymnastics, and considering she wanted her introduction video to stand out in some way rather than simply just standing there and singing or dancing, she decided to switch it up a bit. she gets in a hand stand position, bending her legs back to swiftly pick up the hula hoop with her foot and settles it before kickstarting the spin. hanae wants a few moments before starting to sing, her chosen song dally she felt suited her tone, and had a few different ranges where she could show the stability of her voice while upside down and spinning a hula hoop. while her stability might not be the best, she thought it was pretty good for a mere trainee anyway. when the chorus comes to an end, she slows the spin of the hula hoop and lets her legs fall, grabbing onto the hoop and standing upright again. “my name’s sato hanae, originally from kyoto, now i’m living in seoul in hopes to pursue my dreams of becoming an idol. i’m still not sure what i want my specialty to be, i like the idea of dancing and singing, but if i can become an all-rounder, then i hope to be one that you all love and anticipate!”

this is what the stack of songs that have yet to see the light of fame being hoarded is for, sehun reminds himself. the camera light blinds him in an instant, the spotlight focused on where he’s situated in the room. to say he is tense would be an understatement. it shows, from the way visage struggles to hold onto a smile, to the way fingers persistently—desperately attempt to refrain from fiddling.    such sentiments disappear as fast as they appear when the music initiates the start of recording; the previous version of himself faded into nothingness. the deafening silence of the room is replaced by the smoothness of lyrics that weave into a song to showcase where the core of expertise lies within sehun; a versatile flow in rapping that often switches with high and low notes of vocals, all equally distributed through to the end.   and when the melody concludes itself, sehun is quick to bow as a gesture of courtesy despite it being towards a camera of all things.   “hello,” the voice greets with a tone of softness, gentle in its nature — a feature which is bound to come off as a surprise, given the unrelenting pace of rapping and singing just moments prior. “i’m kim sehun. i’m 23 years old, and i hope to become an idol that focuses on producing and rapping. if you stick around, i’ll be sure to show more sides of myself to you in the future.”
