The rule is this: no powers. Yugi’s cards have no special powers, and Light has the Death Note, but it doesn’t do anything. So they can hit each other with their objects, but Yugi can’t just blow everything up with Exodia, and Light can’t just write his name.

Alternatively, Light just doesn’t have any writing materials.

to be clear. im not gonna yell at or insult someone with a genetic disorder who doesn't want kids for that very reason. or at someone who would have a child with a reduced lifespan because of their family disability and wants to avoid that or whatever. there's no like. perfect way to make that choice and it's personal at the end of the day. what i disagree with is making it a rule that 'of course they don't want and shouldn't want to pass a disability onto their child!' like you understand it's not about the individuals here. there's a million reasons not to have a kid that's personal. but those personal reasons don't need to be a cultural trend or social norm you understand. there has to be, from the very start, the ability for people who will definitely have a disabled child to have that child, and have the support to make that child's life as easy as possible. the solution for these things cannot end in "just don't reproduce". even if they don't want to!! that's not the point!!!

I do think it's pretty funny that fanfic premises based on illegitimate kids as an excuse for crossovers over the years have gone from "Mom character CHEATED on Dad character 😡" to "once upon a time, mommy and daddy had a threesome and now we have YOU!" lmaoooo. People don't want marital discord they just want a third parent

#pretty sure I got blocked for unpopular rwby opinions #which is fair because I’ve also blocked people for annoying rwby opinions #but I still stand by that analysis #because honestly it makes more sense to me in the overarching story #and also for the really popular ship that it was being misattributed to #like #my guy #a significant part of their relationship is built on the foundation of finding a new balance #and something new in the relationship that they didn’t or couldn’t get from the others around them #I feel like it should be at least more tolerable of an idea that the character revisiting old ground #in a way that is maybe not the healthiest but understandable and built on solid trust #for one character #and would be deeply codependent and concerning while also built on much more uncertain ground for the romantic alternative #*that they also supposedly like because it’s healthy and balanced* #could maybe - possibly - be in fact related to the non-romantic option #that shows their imperfect but definite forward movement in recovery #*to be clear there’s a romantic and non romantic interpretation for a certain thing #and imo the nonromantic option makes a lot more sense for both the story and for positive character growth than the romantic option #because of the circumstances and the level of trust built around the particular choice and situation

As someone who is autistic and has BPD and CPTSD and loads of trauma yes you sometimes need to change how you interact with others to keep people around

When I was 13 I hit the few friends I had when I was angry

I had to change that in order to keep those friendships

When I was in my early 20s if I was losing an disagreement with my husband I would threaten to kill myself. My husband told me it hurt him and was cruel and manipulative behaviour, because it was.

So I worked hard to change that to keep my relationship

It's easy to say "I shouldn't have to change for others" and that's true to an extent. You shouldn't change your interests or passions or dim your light. And you should have space to be imperfect and flawed and not have to pretend your ugly bits aren't real. But if something you are doing it causing other people harm you kinda need to change that.

That's called "living in a society"

People adapt to each other and make space for each other in their lives. You adapt to them and they adapt to you

You start being more diligent about throwing away the empty toilet roll because it really bothers them. They start warning you before they run the blender because you hate loud noises

I stopped threatening to kill myself because I was mad I was losing an argument and my husband stopped being so vocally judgemental amount media he personally dislikes

There is a certain type of person who heard the phrase "your emotions are valid" and took that to mean "my emotional reactions and my behaviour are always objectively correct because my emotions are valid and if you have an emotional response or react to what I'm doing negatively then you are wrong and you can't be hurt because my emotions are valid"

And that's a recipe for disaster

Your emotions are valid to feel. They are how you feel and there are reasons you feel the way you do

However, your reactions and behaviour are something you can learn to control and can be irrational

We live in a society and we as people change each other as we interact and that isn't necessarily a bad thing

My current favourite character in Breath of the Wild is Pikango, the incredibly shit artist who turns up around Hyrule to badly paint landscapes and hint me towards my lost memories. If you just talk to him, he seems to be this amazing and talented painter, but like if you look at the canvas
