Never post or send body checks, especially nude ones, to anyone, anywhere.
I was in the ED community six, seven years ago when I was 13. I had once decided to post a body check because it was so normalized at the time. I was essentially nude in this photo, only wearing underwear and my nipples were scribbled out.
Ten minutes later, I was tagged by an anonymous account who had reposted my body check onto their page. I was very fortunate that I was able to contact enough people to mass report the photo, but if that user never tagged me, blocked me right after screenshotting, there was a very real possibility of my nude 13 year old body still remaining on that Instagram till this day.
There’s some sick people who get off to restrictive eating disorders. Many “ana coaches” or “ana buddies” are disgusting people who sexualize your struggle. I know telling you that this disorder ruined my life and continues to ruin it won’t cause you to delete your account, so just please remain safe while you are here.
If you have some innate desire to post body checks, cut out your face and post pictures where you have shirts and pants on. Block out identifying features. Don’t let evil people take advantage of you in your vulnerable state.
Now at age 20, I see how stupid this was to do. But when I was 13 and starting to become severely mentally ill, I wasn’t able to clearly think things out. So this is just for anyone who was like me. Stay safe.
