Serial killers are never obvious. If they were, then they wouldn’t have been able to murder so many people. The ones that especially target younger people are good at getting on both the kids’ and adults’ good side. Portraying them as crazy monsters without much subtlety is...cartoony.

So lay down your grudges against harmless fan girls and let Scott and the crew do their thing.

That post going around complaining about the possibility of Purple Guy being non-repulsive in the FNAF movie really pisses me off

Wouldn’t it just be better if the character was written in a realistic manner and…you know…actually treated like a murder mystery suspect….. People who want him to be repulsive have never met a murderer or seen a goddamn murder mystery before I just wanna say that much

Murderers are collected and charismatic people. They’re usually highly intelligent (and I can bloody tell you now that our suspect here is. He’s a mass murderer, that takes some skill and calculation) and they know how to blend in, if they happen to be the sociopathic variety. Murderers aren’t the stereotype, they aren’t all lonely middle aged men who were shunned by humanity and are now trying to get back. They just seem like normal people. And some of them, in fact, perhaps the majority, do feel regret. It’s just that the media censors it. Trust me, I’ve met some. Hell, one of them I would never have suspected of it and the rest had already done the deed (*one was a friend, the others I met in a prison through a humanities class I took)

And also, the game is a murder mystery and Scott is working with them. They’re not just gonna tell you who he is straight up, that’d go against everything that’s been built up for the past 4 games. So I mean you could have your repulsive and unrealistic character and completely ditch the effort that’s been put in or go with a properly written, researched character with a motivation that’s well disguised as the real killer until the end. Your choice.

And hey, you know what? I get that people don’t want all of his fan girls to feel like what he did was alright but there’s a better way you could do that then making him unrealistic: give him regrets. Give him another character to bounce off of that understands that it’s wrong. Just don’t make him 2 dimensional for the sake of making people feel bad for liking him before. It’s fairly damn simple if you ask me.

These were done by ‘Cartoons’, an animator that very few may know as the creator of Battle Capacity, a free independent fighting game starring Pokemon-inspired characters. It was fun and well done, but it never got much recognition and eventually stopped updating. Still, I think this guy’s animations always deserve a look!
