The interface, or the dial of your watch, can be changed with both, the Fitbit Charge 4, and the Fitbit Sense. One minor advantage that the Fitbit Sense has is that it offers Amazon (Alexa) voice control.the Fitbit Charge 4 doesn't have this feature. Being led through your workout by your device is only supported with the Fitbit Sense. A lot of people use deezer for Fitbit to quickly download music, and use it offline! However, a decent amount of people would also like to see podcasts be available on Fitbit, so we don't have to download an mp3 through the clunky Fitbit interface. Tap playlists to queue them for download.

Plug your watch into the charger. Music downloads automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap the menu icon > Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch. Depending on the amount of music being downloaded, this process may take several minutes or more. Check the progress of the download on the watch’s screen or in the Fitbit app (if your phone is within Bluetooth range). You can listen to and download music from Deezer on your phone or computer while waiting for your download to complete.

Wi-Fi won't work on your watch when the battery is 25% or less.

When setting up Deezer, open the Deezer app on your watch to see your activation code. If the activation code doesn’t appear:

Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.

If the code still doesn’t appear, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

If you see a code on your watch, but can’t enter it at fitbit.com/deezer, make sure you’re using the code displayed on your watch. Each code is tied to a specific user and device and expires after several minutes. If you’re not able to activate Deezer, contact Customer Support.

If the activation code remains on your watch after entering it at fitbit.com/deezer:

Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.

In the Fitbit app, choose the Deezer playlists you want to download, and then place your watch on its charger within range of your Wi-Fi network.

If the activation code doesn’t go away on its own, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

Note that you need a paid Deezer subscription to download playlists to your watch.

How do I listen to Deezer playlists on my Fitbit watch?

After you download your playlists, connect a Bluetooth audio device, such as Fitbit Flyer headphones or a Bluetooth speaker, to your watch. For more information, see How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?

Open the Deezer app on your watch and tap the play button next to a playlist to start playing the music in that playlist. You can also tap the name of the playlist to see the list of tracks. You may need to scroll down to see all of your playlists.

In the list of tracks within a playlist, tap Shuffle All or tap an individual track to play it. The equalizer icon indicates which track is currently playing.

While music is playing, play or pause the track or tap the arrow icons to skip to the next track or previous track (returning to a previous track isn’t possible when listening to Flow). Press the + and - icons to control the volume.

To open additional controls, tap the 3 dots icon. Here, you can change the Bluetooth audio output device.

To listen to a different playlist, press the back button and tap a playlist. Note that you may need to reopen the Deezer app to choose a different playlist.

Note: Open the music controls to change tracks or control volume. From any screen, press and hold the back button on your watch and swipe to the Music Controls screen instead of opening the Deezer app.

Playlists update automatically and Flow updates daily when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network. To adjust which playlists are stored on your watch:

In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.

To remove a playlist, swipe it to the left and tap Delete. To add a new playlist, tap Add Music and select the playlists to download. Only the content not already downloaded to your watch is shown.

Plug your watch into the charger. Playlists download automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap the menu icon > Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch. To force a sync, the device paired to your watch must be nearby with Bluetooth turned on.

Why doesn’t my Flow show up in the Fitbit app?

Because Flow is a personalized soundtrack based on the music you add to your favorites, it can take a day or two before Flow shows up for download in the Fitbit app if this is your first time using Deezer. For more information on Flow, see support.deezer.com.

Why can't I download playlists to my Fitbit watch?

Plug your watch into the charger. Playlists download automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch.

I received an out of space error message—what should I do?

Your Deezer playlists update when your watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network. If you added more tracks to a Deezer playlist that’s synced with your watch, your watch may run out of space when it attempts to download the new content. If you receive this error message, remove some of the music downloaded to your watch:

Can I download new music without plugging my watch in?

Make sure your watch is charged and in range of your Wi-Fi network to verify your account status periodically.

Why are some Deezer tracks not available for playback on my watch?

Although Deezer allows you to upload personal music files to your playlists, these tracks can’t be downloaded to your watch. When you download a playlist that contains personal music files, the unsupported tracks won’t appear on your watch. I can’t start my free Deezer trial—what should I do?

If you activate Deezer on Fitbit but aren’t offered a free trial, contact Deezer for more information about your eligibility. You won’t receive the free trial if you received a free trial to Deezer in the past or already have a paid subscription to Deezer.

How do I unlink my Deezer account from my Fitbit watch?

If you want to use a different Deezer account on your watch or no longer want to use the feature, you can unlink your Deezer account. This will remove all Deezer music from your watch.

In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.

Tap the menu icon > Unlink Deezer account.

Things have been looking up for Winamp ever since the legendary MP3 player quietly survived its December 20 shutdown date.

There had been rumors of a sale by AOL, but now TechCrunch reports that the sale is practically a done deal, with Radionomy agreeing to acquire Winamp’s software and Shoutcast music services.

Winamp no longer works with Radionomy. I used it often to monitor and also as a 'pilot light' when I was live so the stream wouldn't stop if no one was listening. Radionomy was an online platform that provided tools for operating online radio stations. It was part of Radionomy Group, a company which later acquired the online streaming platform SHOUTcast from Nullsoft, and eventually consolidated Radionomy into its SHOUTcast service. I wasn’t familiar with Radionomy before, but it seems similar in purpose to Shoutcast. Both services allow users to create their own online radio stations, for fun or for profit.

Shoutcast is much larger, touting 45,000 stations, compared to roughly 6,000 with Radionomy, but Radionomy tries to make do-it-yourself broadcasting easier, with a web-based tool for creating radio stations and a licensed library of more than 80,000 songs. Deezer game. Radionomy is also getting more serious about monetization, and last month merged with Targetspot to create an ad network for digital audio. Bringing in Shoutcast’s user base and tools could be pretty interesting.

None of that helps us understand what will become of the Winamp software. Winamp isn’t directly tied to Shoutcast — you can play Shoutcast stations straight from any web browser or from other media players including iTunes and Windows Media Player — so Radionomy may not have much incentive to keep developing standalone MP3 software. Still, there’s room to make Winamp more radio-centric, perhaps by adding a way to browse for stations directly through the software.

TechCrunch reports that the deal could be finalized by Friday, so maybe we’ll learn more about Winamp’s fate soon. In the meantime, you can still download the latest version of Winamp from the official website, or look to unofficial sources for an older version.

I've been told by Tech Support today (I had to contact them as they don't call me) that Deezer is no longer supported via the Multiroom App. This appears to be Samsung's solution to mine and other users problems with accessing Deezer via the App. They haven't chosen to tell any of us and Deezer still appears within the choice of Apps. Samsung multiroom deezer problem.

What a kick in the pants! My station had hit an average of about 113/115 daily hours. With about 30 days left to hit 130, Radionomy dropped the access to the players everyone had links to. A few people followed the instructions and logged in via Radionomy, but most must have just moved on. My listener hours dropped to about 65 now! It's too late to try to correct everything and get my listeners back, so I guess it's goodbye! I won't waste time trying again, I guess it's time to just pony-up and pay for a good service!

There are two ways to design a De-Esser.

For de-essing vocals, it's common to use a compressor that's configured to detect sibilance. For de-essing a full mix, it's usual to filter the signal to isolate the sibilance and compress it, before mixing it back in with the rest of the signal. Essence can do both.

De-essing vocals with software is fairly easy; and using Essence, you need three controls and you're set.

De-essing a full mix is much harder, and mastering engineers invest thousands in hardware boxes to get usable results. In fact, for about a decade, a mastering engineer wanting to invisibly de-ess a vocal in a full mix has been faced with only one, incredibly expensive option.

Essence replaces both.

But the flexibility of Essence allows you to do much more than de-essing. You can use it like a dynamic EQ to manage all manner of subtle (or extreme) mix issues. And best of all, it's incredibly transparent. No weird artefacts; it's as if the original mix was just better.

It turns out that starting with the design for the world's best de-esser concludes with having the most powerful mastering processor in the world today. It's priced as an A-list De-Esser, but that belies the fact that it will allow you to replace expensive outboard hardware, with improved results and as many instances as your computer can handle.

You can run it in a zero-latency ultra-low CPU mode, or crank it up, and even at its most processor hungry, you'll still be able to run dozens across a mix.

A poly mesh or a face-based geometry is a 3D shape made from polygons. Even if the surfaces are “meshed” together, the geometry is not ‘empty’. Think of it like an empty cardboard box. It’s hollow. There is no “material” in the center of the solid. If you slice into it you will see that is ‘empty’.

Meshes can be great for complex surface editing, but cause frequent problems, especially when it comes to rendering and exporting objects. Meshes aren’t always water-tight. It’s easy to accidentally model objects with holes where surfaces join. When rendering meshes or exporting them to other CAD packages, the faces of a mesh can flip and look invisible form certain angles. When 3D printing, the computer can become confused by what is “inside” and “outside” of the mesh.

Solids

Think of a solid like a block of polystyrene. The material fills the solid and it is not hollow. If you slice it in half, there is no empty space.

Solids can make it harder to create complex, curved shapes, although with advances in direct and parametric modeling, this is changing.

ACIS solids are great for things like 3D printing because the computer always knows what is “inside” and what is outside. This can also make calculating volumes easier.

Why use ACIS?

The problem with kernels is that there are many different types and they all work in slightly different ways. This means that the same operation on the same set of solids, might produce different results. As you will know from your high-school maths lessons, something as simple as choosing how many decimals to round numbers like pi or ⅓ to, can have consequences later down the line!

The good news is that ACIS is highly compatible because it is widely used by major CAD applications. There are a few different ideas about what the letters A.C.I.S the most popular seems to be Alan, Charles & Ian’s System (Alan Grayer, Charles Lang and Ian Braid – the creators). However others claim the name was derived from Greek mythology (Acis and Galatea).
