I'm losing my mind a bit here my ass was fully raised Catholic and I also have no idea what in the fresh hell any of these jackass professors were talking about. Water? Ovals? I mean yeah I barely paid attention and stopped going to church the second I was no longer forced to go, but I don't know I've heard of any of this? I mean I've visited the Vatican museum twice am I just stupid? Those gory crucifixes really look like they're supposed to be spurting blood not water wat. IS this common knowledge? Being raised by areligious jews with 0 exposure to christianity outside pop culture is so fun. One time I asked my ex-catholic friend why a picture of jesus had a bristle crown and she looked at me like I was insane. One time I heard someone mention the "lance of longinus" and responded, word for word, "Like from Evangelion?" One time during a history lesson my professor described an important monk and scholar as "Dominican" and I spent the rest of class super confused and hung up on it because I was very sure that the Dominican Republic didn't meaningfully exist as an entity back then, maybe she meant he was a native Taino or something but that's a weird way to say that and I'm pretty sure this was pre- European contact? Really fucks people up when they realize I genuinely have no idea.

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

It should be illegal for health insurance companies to not tell you how much you're going to owe for a medical procedure or doctor visit or whatever and whether they'll cover it or not until MONTHS after you got it done. It's fucking atrocious they're allowed to do this.

You're telling me you just now got around to telling me how much for a doctor's visit I had. EIGHT. FUCKING. MONTHS. ago after months and months of crickets. Unacceptable.

If a website has a paywall, like New York Times, DO NOT use the ctrl+A shortcut then the ctrl+c shortcut as fast as you can because then you may accidentally copy the entire article before the paywall comes up. And definitely don't do ctrl+v into the next google doc or whatever you open because then you will accidentally paste the entire article into a google doc or something!!!! I repeat DO NOT do this because it is piracy which is absolutely totally wrong!!!
