“Well, I mean...” Lottie glanced over at the boxes she was carrying and were threatening to topple over. “I-It isn’t your problem so you don’t need to worry, honestly.”
lottiexlyle
Lottie gritted her teeth as she tried to carry the boxes into her store. When the girl spoke she put on her best smile and tried to look like she wasn’t seconds away from dropping everything. “That’s sweet of you but I’m fine! Really!”
“You sure?” Ramona raised one eyebrow, clearly not believing a word the blonde was saying.

“Oh, woah. Looks like you could use some help there.”

“This Harry Potter thing really is huge isn’t it? I can’t think of anything from my childhood that had this kind of impact on pop culture.”
lottiexlyle:
“Most of the main characters are in that red house right? Griffin something? God this is making me feel old.”
‘ gryffindor, yes the three main children of the series are that house! ’

“Oh you’d be surprised at what waitressing can teach you. For one, it teaches you how to curse people out in your head. For another, you learn how to cultivate your patience.”
lottiexlyle:
“Even better reason to stick it out. Once you leave the system you’ll have something to live off of and important skills. Just put on your server face and try not to count the seconds, it’ll make the days seem longer.”
“I guess you have a point. I’m not really sure how being a part-time waitress will give me life skills for when I get booted from the system, but you’re the only one who’s even half attempted to cheer me up, so I guess I appreciate that or whatever.”

“No, seen plenty of those.” Usually in a mirror. “Do you need any help sir?” Lottie approached him tentatively, glancing at the empty bottle. “I don’t think you should be wandering around in this state.”
Frank was walking home, late again, an empty bottle in his hand. He was too tired (or just lazy) to wander over and throw the bottle in one of the trash cans, so he kept stumbling along, one hand in his pocket. And one point, he nearly fell on his face, but he caught himself and stumbled over his feet instead. Frank noticed someone staring and frowned. “What are you looking at, huh? Never seen a sad drunk before?”

“I will admit the name is pretty damn cool, and it seems neat. That Luna girl is a Ravenclaw right? I like her.”
‘ she is! she used to my favourite. ’

“If all you have to do for money is deal with fake people I say stick it out. I know it’s cliche but it could be so much worse.”
“It could be, but I’m already a foster child, so I don’t see how my whole life could get much worse, until I age out of the system. Then, ya know….I’m done for.”

“I always get mixed results, like sometimes I’m Ravenclaw and sometimes I’m Hufflepuff. I like Hufflepuff more because the name sounds funny.”
‘ you’re a total ravencawl! ’ she laughed.

I am one thousand percent done working these fancy events. The people there are so fake. They tip well though, so maybe I should reconsider…

“Thanks man, I just wish people knew how hard cheerleaders push themselves. Like do people think it’s easy to hold up one girl while standing on another girl’s shoulders and be all peppy without worrying about breaking an ankle? At least the uniform was cute.” Lottie shook her head and sighed. “Sorry man, I shouldn’t be dumping all this on you.”
lottiexlyle:
“Yeah, that’s probably right. Fuckin’ stereotypes man, like the second I tell people I was the head cheerleader at my high school, they think I’m some bitch or something.”
“That’s true. Except me. I’d applaud you because my sister was a head cheerleader herself and I know how much gets put into it.”

“Oh I baby talk to all animals, including fish. It feels weird to talk to them any other way.” Lottie crouched so that she was closer to Esteban and gently rubbed her coat. “Look at you, so nice and pretty and carefree. You don’t have to worry about taxes and bills, you just eat grass and look stunning.” She sighed a little. “I wish I was a goat.”
lottiexlyle:
“Oh my God thank you so much.” Lottie gently scratched Esteban behind her ear like her owner suggested, smiling widely. “Who’s a pretty girl?” She cooed. “Who’s a sweet, beautiful little lady?”
Spencer grinned widely and nodded his head. Esteban bleated towards her and rubbed her head against Lottie’s leg. “I gotta admit, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who baby talks her.”

“Nah don’t worry I got it. It’s just, I hate seeing people roll their eyes or make faces when I tell them I was a cheerleader, like it somehow makes me lesser than them.”
“Why don’t people respect cheerleaders more? That shit is fucking hard.”

“That’s most likely a big part of it, but I think it could also be because it’s a female dominated sport and of course everything that is female dominated is belittled and treated like shit. Fuck sexism dude.”
lottiexlyle:
“Why don’t people respect cheerleaders more? That shit is fucking hard.”
“If I had to guess I’d say it’s thanks to television and film. How they represent it itself and the people who do it.”

“Sorry, I just…can I pet her?” Lottie had always had a soft spot for animals, and when was she going to see a goat next? Probably never, so she had to seize this opportunity.
“Don’t worry about it, I can just never tell what’s going on in people’s heads. People have reacted strongly towards her, hence my caution. But of course, go ahead. She likes being scratched behind her ears.”

“Maybe they don’t understand that because they can’t get past the cheerleader tropes on television and in film.”
