“In 2014 I saw The Kooks live for the first time in my life. They had come to Chile before, but I lived too far from Santiago and didn’t have enough money to travel and to buy the concert tickets. However, in 2014 I was living right next to the place where they would play and I couldn’t be happier. I would finally see the band that was part of the soundtrack of my teenage days. I watched them play live twice, first at lollapalooza and then at their sideshow. I’ll treasure those memories until the day I die.”

“I remember hearing She Moves in Her Own Way on the radio back in 2006 (I was six years old!) and it instantly became my favourite song. Ever since then you guys have been one of my favourite bands and I’d waited for so long to come to one of your shows.

I finally saw you on May 5th this year in Plymouth and I can honestly say, as a regular gig goer, that it was one of my favourite, if not the best gig that I have ever been to. You have so much energy and the vibe was just incredible.

I recently met you again in Birmingham before your show and as usual, you took the time to take pictures and have a chat. I also met some other fans this time with whom I have now formed great friendships, including two people from Spain who I am coming to see you again with in November.

“The first time I listened to The Kooks was at high school and I heard ‘Naive’. It was the beginning of my love for you, but I had to wait until June 10th, 2014 to see you live, at the Trianon in Paris. It is one of my favourite concerts and also the concert that made realise me you are my favourite group. It was also the beginning of an incredible adventure.

Why an adventure? Because to this day I have never missed one of your gigs in Paris. I even travelled several times to see you live; V Festival 2015, Alexandra Palace a few months ago , Glasgow for TRNSMT Festival and soon Wembley in December and Bordeaux for Climax Festival. The last crazy thing I did? My first tattoo: “Junk of the Heart”. Because this song is everything.  

And now? I hope to one day have the opportunity to meet you, and to tell you that you are so talented and that your music is everything, and also thank you for all that you bring me.

So, thank you, The Kooks.

“I’ve been in love with your songs since my stepfather and I listened in 2009; I was just 14. “She Moves In Her Own Way” was one of my favourites and we started to follow your songs, and my step father bought every song book so he can play them on guitar. We’ve been following you ever since.

We saw you for the first time in Paris in 2010, then in Lyon, in Caen, my hometown when you came at Beauregard’s festival. I saw you guys in Milan in 2015 when luckily you were playing just the week after I moved there; the whole family and I saw you in London in December of the same year. This year we will all see you in Brussels where I’m living now. At my 18th birthday party, my stepfather played “She Moves In Her Own Way” with French lyrics that related to my life and it was just moving and amazing. Thank you guys for the great music and thank you for bringing my family together.”
