Soccer Game #2
Soccer season is in full “swing”. We just had our second game for the 8 week season. After the first game a little over a week ago, and seeing how hard it was on the girls, we spent some extra time at home working on soccer skills. As we played in the backyard, I had both girls running after the ball and running while dribbling the ball. This is a skill that Bailey had not been able to do yet.…

Transitioning Phase
I have recently decided to switch my hosting site from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I originally thought wordpress was wordpress, that there was no difference. I found after signing up with wordpress.com that they are different and that wordpress.com limited what I could do with my blog. So, I decided to switch to wordpress.org.
I am currently in the transition stage of switching them over so…

First Soccer Game
We officially have started a new Saturday ritual, soccer games. I have a confession to make. I wasn’t sure that the girls would be that interested in soccer. My girls’ interests are dress up, tiaras, tea parties, dancing, tumbling, and swimming. So when the topic of soccer came up, I didn’t really expect them to want to play. They surprised me with the decision to play this year. I’m not a soccer…

A few weeks ago my younger sister got married in Las Vegas. Joel and I flew out two days before the wedding to have a little time there to do some sightseeing. I had never been to Las Vegas so I was excited to see what it was all about.
We arrived Thursday night pretty late and were exhausted (and a little frightened by the wreckless cab ride) by the time we reached the hotel. We checked in finding that our booked room was no longer available. They gave us a different room for the night. As we walked into the room we immediately had to leave and go back to get another one. This room smelt like a true vegas, partied too hard in room. It was horrible! So the hotel quickly changed our room. Thankfully this room was nicer than the other one. The next morning we switched to our original room that we had picked.
After switching rooms for the second time we wandered around the strip. We explored shops and Casinos all over the strip. We loved the M&M store, Hershey’s store, and stopping in front of the Statue of Liberty – Las Vegas. It was such a fun time spending time together. Of course just like majority of parents out there, we were more focused on things to get for our children and sending them pictures of our trip, than just focusing on a weekend kid-free.
Mid-day the rest of our family arrived so we visited with them a bit before heading out to explore some more.
That late afternoon we visited the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
I was a little disappointed by the wildlife. All that they had was koi fish and flamingos. I had hoped to see a few more animals.
From there we walked over to the High Roller Observation Wheel. On our way we stopped by Sprinkles Cupcakes. Yes they are just as amazing as they advertise.
We got on the observation deck before sunset. I am terrified of heights so a glass ball going 600 feet into the air is absolutely terrifying to me. The only reasons I went on there was because Joel wanted to go and he is always trying to push me out of my comfort zone and allow me to experience new things. I tried to stand and look at the rim at the scenery but the moment I stood up I felt queasy. So most of the time I sat on a little bench in the middle looking from my seat. We did snap a quick picture of us up in the air before I had to sit back down.
On Saturday we got up to have a quick breakfast and then headed up to start getting ready for the wedding. Joel helped drop my stuff off at my sister-in-law’s room and then he headed to gamble until it was time for him to get ready. I spent the morning with a hair appointment, and helping get everything wrapped up for the wedding. Their ceremony was at 1:30 pm and was followed by a much needed, relaxing celebration of their marriage.
Later that evening Joel and I went over to the Bellagio to watch the fountains. I think that was my favorite part of Vegas. The fountains were absolutely beautiful.
Following the fountains we went to the dueling piano bar inside the Paris Hotel. I love piano bars and this one did not disappoint. We enjoyed a few songs, maybe about an hour, before we had to leave to head back to our room. I was not feeling well and needed to rest.
The following day we got up and had breakfast. Then we went shopping for a little while before gambling for about an hour. Basically we were using up time before having to head to the airport.
This being my first time to visit Vegas, I would say it was an okay city. I’m not sure that I will go back anytime soon.

Homeschooling for Preschool and Are They Ready for Kindergarten?
Homeschooling for Preschool and Are They Ready for Kindergarten?
We have been homeschooling Preschool for 6 months now. The decision to homeschool part time (they go to school the other part) came about when we were discussing what to do to prepare them for Kindergarten. My twins’ birthday is on the cut-off for starting school but school starts two weeks before their fifth birthday. So they will be four when they start Kindergarten. We had the choice to hold…

Spring Break Day 1
The first day of spring break started as a usual Saturday morning with running errands.I had to go to two different stores that morning so the girls each got a turn to go shopping with me one on one, which they loved. When we finished our errands, we all went out for a family walk and bike ride for the girls. We spent about 30 minutes and 6 blocks of walking/riding bikes.
This was a bit of a challenge for Bailey because of all of her past physical delays. She has always struggled with the walking, running, jumping, and now pedaling a bike. After two years of physical therapy, she has been able to grow out of most of the challenges but running and bike riding are still two challenges she needs to work on. She was the one on Saturday that wanted to ride longer. But by the time we reached the final two blocks she was out of energy. We had to cheer her on and encourage her to keep going. Joel and I were so proud of her and how hard she worked that day.
When we got home, I gave them all a special treat because that ride was the longest they had ever gone on and Bailey needed a reward for how hard it was on her alone. So I gave them some of our homemade fruit popcicles. Their little brother enjoyed one too, although he didn’t have to work at all on the walk. He just enjoyed the ride in the stroller.
After lunch and some time resting, we all went back outside and remained outside in the backyard playing until dinner time. We all loved being outside, this was the first time in a week that we had been able to go out.
The girls ended the night with a camp out in their room.
Spring Break Day 2
Our second day was Sunday, time change day. UGH!!! I have to stop for a moment and say, I HATE SPRING FORWARD! Can we do away with time change already?!? It’s hard on adults, it’s hard on children, it’s time to get rid of it! (Vent over!)
As a usual Sunday morning, we got up and headed to church. I was incredibly tired this morning because I had been up with Mason for several hours. He usually wakes up between 3 and 4 am and is awake for an hour to two hours. We don’t know why but it’s awful and we have tried everything to keep him asleep. Nothing has worked and these two parents stay tired. Well this night he got up at the new 4 am and was awake until 6 am. My alarm goes off at 6:30 am so I didn’t get any sleep past 4 am. I got ready for church and then got the girls up. They were not happy about waking up earlier than normal and were quite grumpy.
After church service, we relaxed and spent the afternoon playing games and watching movies. It was really gross outside so we couldn’t go out and play. The girls had a second night of camp out in their tents that night.
Spring Break Day 3
Monday morning we woke up to another chilly and cloudy morning. Since we weren’t able to play outside, we spent the morning playing games and watching the movie Cars in the playroom. The kids played “snapper chase” which was basically the two older ones running and hiding from little brother. The girls would run from room to room “hiding” from Mason. He would run happily through the house searching for them, which was not hard because they were giggling and squealing wherever they were. It was precious! One of the cute moments where everyone is getting along and playing together.
After lunch we got ready for the girls Cinderella Ballet camp. They found out about the camp on Friday of last week and have been reminding me each day that they start on Monday.
The ballet camp was an hour and half long. It started with stretching and then went in to teaching them a few ballet positions, first, second, fifth, sixth, plie and saute.
They played games on their ballet toes, played musical ballet positions, hopped around like ballet frogs and even walked like ballet flamingos. It was precious! They had so much fun! The camp ended with a craft activity. They made a cinderella magic wand with ribbon, markers, and stickers. Such a fun way for them to end the class.
Spring Break Day 4
Another morning that was relaxing in our pjs and playing games around the house.  The girls had ballet camp again today. They played games and danced around the room. Their favorite game was freeze dance.
The girls had soccer practice after ballet camp. Boy were they tired that night.
Spring Break Day 5
This morning we woke up and hurried around so that we could play outside. It was still cool in the morning but we were anxious to be outside. The kids played in their sandbox, jumped on their trampoline and ran around chasing their brother.
After lunch and nap time we headed out for day 3 of ballet camp. This time little brother joined us. (He had been on daddy duty Monday and Tuesday but dad was in the field on Wednesday). The girls enjoyed ballet camp and little brother enjoyed the first 10 minutes of watching them before starting to throw a fit. I spent the next hour fighting him. Thankfully they got to a point in the camp that I could gather the girls a few minutes early to head home. I was so tired that night we skipped normal dinner plans and made breakfast for dinner (Bailey’s  favorite) and watched a movie after.
Spring break day 6
This morning we got up and picked up the house a bit. We finished all of our house chores about 10:15 and then read books and played in the playroom until lunch time. It was a relaxing morning again, no rushing!
After lunch we were off to the last day of ballet camp. I had little brother again but daddy got to come and watch (and take little brother) for part of the time. I think that was the best part for the girls, daddy was able to come watch.
Later on they had soccer practice again. Little brother and I were able to join. I hoped him running after the ball would make him sleep that night (it didn’t).
Spring break day 7
Another morning getting to do whatever we wanted. It was really nice! We played all morning and then had lunch. Joel came home at lunch and we all drove out to the sand dunes to go sledding. We arrived around 2:30 pm. The girls were so excited. Little brother loved the sand just not on his feet. We tried our first sledding on a low hill, didn’t go anywhere so we found a higher hill and tried it. Joel went first to test it out. He was quickly followed by Brooke and Bailey. Mason and I went down once together and then he went again with dad. After four times sliding down and climbing back up, the girls were exhausted! So we cleaned up and headed home .
The final two days of spring break
We played at the house all day over the weekend. The girls got to ride their bikes with dad. He gave them each one on one time while they rode their bikes and played at the park. Mason got mom snuggle time, which is all he wanted.
Once it was warm in the afternoons, we pulled out the crazy sprinkler and let the kids have some water play. The girls knew what to do immediately but Mason was less depressed. We had to take him through the sprinkler. Let’s just say he is not a fan. However he is a fan of swim shorts and no shirts.
Spring Break Recap Spring Break Day 1 The first day of spring break started as a usual Saturday morning with running errands.I had to go to two different stores that morning so the girls each got a turn to go shopping with me one on one, which they loved.

A year ago we took Mason on his fi rst trip to the zoo. We loaded all three kids up and drove to the “local” zoo, which is actually two hours away from our town.
Well, it just so happened that we chose to go to the zoo on the same day we did last year. (A gr-teat coincidence). This was a surprise for the kids. Once again, we loaded them up in the car and set out to drive the two hour trip to the zoo. About an hour and a half in Bailey and Brooke both started asking where we were going. They thought we were going shopping around town and did not understand why daddy was still driving us to the store. We had not told them anything about where we were going, they just made an assumption and we let their little imaginations get creative. It was comical to Joel and I both that it took them that long to notice that we were still driving.
As we pulled into the parking lot of the zoo around noon, the girls knew exactly where we were and what we were going to do. They were so excited and could not wait to get inside to see the animals. Mason was just excited to get out of the car. :)
Our zoo is much smaller than what I grew up visiting but we still enjoy going. You can walk the entire zoo in two hours or less. My children like to walk slowly through the different exhibits so it takes us a little longer. We don’t mind though because their expressions with each animals is so fun to watch.
We traveled around the zoo seeing the birds, flamingos, small monkeys, lions, cheetahs, tigers, zebras, and a few other small animals. Their favorite exhibit is the newest one at our zoo, the giraffe habitat. A few years ago the zoo renovated the girafee habitat to allow visitors to feed the giraffes. They created a jungle themed hut that you walk up ramps to, and the giraffes walk up to be fed leaves. You had the giraffe a leaf and it reaches out with it’s long tongue and snatches it out of your hand. The girls love feeding the giraffes. We went through the exhibit twice. The first time Mason was not interested in the giraffes or feeding time. The second time he let me hold him while I fed the leaf to the giraffe. He had no interest in holding the leaf or getting too close to the large animal. Maybe next time he will feed the giraffe. Or in a year or so! ;)
In the short three hours we were at the zoo they walked around and around, including Mason. The girls would walk around to the exhibits and Mason would run around hoping we would chase him. It’s nice having a smaller zoo for him to run like this. There wasn’t a ton of people there so he could do some slight roaming and not be stuck in the stroller the entire time. By the time we left the zoo they were all tired which was nice because it was a two hour drive back home.
Our Trip to the Zoo A year ago we took Mason on his fi rst trip to the zoo. We loaded all three kids up and drove to the "local" zoo, which is actually two hours away from our town.

Spring Break Plans
Spring Break is next week. We will be staying home this Spring Break. Even though we don’t have big plans for a trip, I have some small things planned for our Spring Break.
We usually spend spring break playing, relaxing, and being a bit lazy. This spring break we may do a little homeschool work. With all the sickness that we have had in our house, we have missed two weeks of homeschool lessons.…

The Twin War Room
The Twin War Room
When I had my girls four and a half years ago, we made a precious little nursery set up for two. Two cribs, two sets of bedding, two of it all. A lot of furniture in their little room but we wanted them to have a special place all of their own. From there we moved them to toddler beds using their convertible cribs. Again, two of their own little things.
When little brother was making his debut…
