Author's Note: First time writing a little drabble piece for Fallout. I'm interested in doing more once I can come up with more ideas. But please enjoy~

"Hey Charon," Lone turns over on the bed, flashing her ghoul companion a mischievous look. "Wanna cuddle?"
Charon, forever unmoved and oblivious to social cues, remains posted at the corner of Lone's bedroom in Megaton, with large arms clad with leather armor crossed over his chest like he was just itching for a fight. He looks down at her, replaying the question in his head again and again.
"Is that an order?" he asks.
It catches Lone off guard, to a point where she can't help but awkwardly stammer and laugh immediately after the fact. For a moment she'd forgotten their arrangement, as well as the dynamics at play. Suddenly, Lone felt incredibly icky.
"No," she said. "No, it wasn't an order. I was just.... don't worry about it. I was just joking..."
Lone turned back around on the bed, facing the wall so that her face could be red with embarrassment in peace. She kept listening for Charon to step out, his routine at night having not changed since she's acquired his contract all those months ago. If he did leave now, she'd go to bed and be A-OK forgetting this ever happened.
Instead, she feels the mattress behind her begin to sink, a sudden presence shadowing over her like a tall mass. An arm, heavy but warm, rests itself over her gently, warily. When Lone turned slightly, her gaze was met with Charon's side, as he sat at the corner of her bed, letting a single drape over her. That way he could still keep watch of the door, and that way he could be here as well.
Lone doesn't say anything, but she does smile. Without a word, she hugs herself against his arm, letting her eyes close and her mind rest. It's the fastest she's ever fallen asleep he reckons.
Please don’t let fandom ruin something you love. Walk away and unfollow the fans and enjoy the thing by yourself, or find a limited circle of people who ignore the discourse, or get your irl friends into the thing and collectively ignore the Internet community, or blacklist from here to the moon if you need to and only ever scroll through your rarepair ship’s tag on AO3. But don’t let fandom distort a show or a movie or a book or a comic you used to love so badly that you can’t enjoy the original anymore. Please. It isn’t worth it.
