i think writers forget sometimes that stories can be written without any plot. stories without characters. or stories without structure. without meaning. dialogue. setting. genre.  screw writing advice. be the most avant-garde you that you can be. publish blank pages

the absolute mindfuck of learning that when americans said “pumpkin spice” they were talking about like. nutmeg and cinnamon. and not adding pumpkin flavouring to stuff

“Blood is thicker than water”, when used in the context of family over friends, is in fact a wildly incorrect bastardisation. The true, full quote is The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,” and refers to relationships forged by choice holding deeper meaning than those of mere biology.”

Heart of Silver || WIP intro
Tumblr media
general facts
title: Heart of Silver
genre: Urban Fantasy
status: second draft finished at 25k words
themes: depression & friendship
synopsis
After poking her finger on a dead granny’s fork, young ghost-hunter Evelyn finds herself slowly turning into a silver statue and teams up with the infamous curse-broker Ariel to save herself from her rather untimely, possibly painful, demise. But when breaking the curse turns out harder than they assumed, Evelyn has to learn to truly trust Ariel before the silver takes her life.
characters
Evelyn - Evelyn grew up as a ghost hunter and tried to leave that life behind her. Her good friend/accomplice/nemesis Ariel successfully manages to bring her back to the ghosts and monsters though, so it’s no surprise she finds herself cursed by a ghost’s fork. Asking Ariel for help seems like the only option, but is also a good way to get cursed some more.
Ariel - Ariel is a curse-broker with passion. They hand them* out, break them*, experiment with them* to their heart’s content. Their one goal is to be the best curse-broker there is, so breaking a curse that should not be possible to break is the only logical conclusion here. And if they save Evelyn’s life along the way, that is really the cherry on top!  (*referring to the curses, not Ariel’s clients; please don’t believe all those google reviews, thanks!)
