might come back to what i said about taking a break from posting, or just being. on here. the demons are getting way stronger and really i just want to grind art not necesssarily like one defeats their cybergrind best score but more like someone doing an Earthbound no psi items equipment save slot challenge but remove the level cap, if that makes sense

i just want to stop feeling like garbage about my art and actually do something about it instead of whine yk, and notes and numbers and the mental knots i do to my brain are not helping

to be honest sometimes it's a bit frustrating to see people unable to fathom that Mario and Luigi could also be in their 20s and not in their 30s, like oh yes oh truly there has never been such a thing as guys in their mid to late 20s who happen to be on the shorter end height wise, chubby and also have very fast growing facial hair like be for fucking real

desperately want to yap about au and project ideas so i guess here's what i have that's fitting for this blog, i guess

au ideas (all smash based (sorry)):

SLICE OF LIFE/TV SHOW: this is a Nesscas au where Lucas and Ness have more or less of a "normal life" as middle schoolers in a Nintendo themed city as they try and naviguate the events that happened in their lives as well as their growing feelings for each other. they usually hang out with other Smash characters as well as their relatives or their in universe friends. Smash bros itself is more or less a TV show where the characters would fight in specific contexts similar to the in game fights, but this is a background element since the focus is Ness and Lucas' relationship. this one would most likely be a comic

"SHADOW GOVERNMENT" (sorry for the name): smash au where generations (aka every newcomer to every game as a group) must fight an organisation as they try to find eachother. might be similar in tone to something like the Subspace Emissary but set in another Nintendo based city. the goal of this one would be to practice more serious linear writing as well as fight scenes in a comic format. it'd also be much more reliant on the characters' games as backstories as they'd probably be teleported in some way to this city. so far the ideas i do have for this would be Peach and Bowser acting as a dual team in fights and have their ingame dynamic (based on the rpgs for example) bounce from that both in fighting and in terms of comedy, as well as Toon Link and Lucas befriending eachother, Toon Link more or less wishing to act as Lucas' "big brother" figure before knowing about Claus. this one too would be a comic

"Song of the Gods": mostly an au where everyone is in and comes from an inside Fantasy like universe, very very vaguely inspired by the gba and 3DS Fire Emblem games as well as the Atelier series everyone would have a sort of stereotypical fantasy class based on their own games' roles and actions/fighting style, as well as variants depending on their alternative moveset and backstories. there'd probably be a lot of adaptation work needed, things such as making game series into countries or regions or something, as well as adapting every non human into an in-universe species i think. this one would be a mix of comics and fake game captures i think.

more general art projects:

100 days of Lucas ootds: this one's pretty self explanatory, i want to start drawing more finished looking pieces and a daily challenge like this one might be a good start, the ootds would be the ones i wear, might also include my eye looks if i feel like it

100 days of Nesscas: fluffy series of drawings featuring Ness and Lucas falling in love and following their super duper awkward but ultimately loving relationship, with more attention placed on backgrounds and general storytelling. will definitely happen before i start genuinely working on the aus

idk what all this is worth tbh but i just know i am silly and i want people to see my silliness

everytime i draw Lucas i have to tell myself to say fuck to actual perspective and give his little hairdo the astroboy treatment by having it always go forward in the direction he's facing

and then i start crying because i never feel secure enough to color his and Claus eyes brown when everyone (including past me) usually colors them blue and green respectively. sad!
