“I found this 50s dress at a vintage-by-the-pound place in Williamsburg floating in a sea of Y2K and 80s acetate. It’s absolutely homemade and my guess is that it was likely the result of an old Vogue or Simplicity pattern. She’s flannel with shell buttons and she’s really special. I collect colorful square-crown wide-brim hats. This one is nothing special, but the color sure is. I was given the scarf, and the sweater is a recent eBay find. The shoes are Carel. I find as I get older, I gravitate toward more quality textiles and classier silhouettes. It helps to distract from the dumpster fire that is my existence.”
