I would also like to add the argument that, since dragons keep hoards and are extremely protective of them, that would also make them more inclined towards monocular vision. Like yeah, the greatest threat to a dragon is another dragon and they could come from any angle. But try watching over your vast chamber filled with gold and sparkly things if you are super lazy (dragons are shown to sleep a lot when they don’t hunt) and have to move your head around to actually scan the room (in case of binocular vision).

A sudden, terrifying thought

When you see an animal with its eyes set to the front, like wolves, or humans, that’s usually a predator animal.

If you see an animal with its eyes set farther back, though—to the side—that animal is prey.

Now look at this dragon.

See those eyes?

They’re to the SIDE.

This raises an interesting—and terrifying—question.

What in the name of Lovecraft led evolution to consider DRAGONS…

Replying to the post about podcasts and streams like Critical Role and The Adventure Zone not being able to make money: The policy does state that you can still gain ad revenue and donations, so long as your content is freely accessible. Neither CR nor TAZ charge upfront for their content. The only problem I could possibly see is CR putting their recordings up for subscribers only first and make it accessible to the general public a couple days later.

But yeah, so long as you only get your money from adverts or donations, you can keep posting your podcasts and recorded/streamed play sessions. It’s just that anyone has the right to download the stuff and put it on their own website.

Due to recent changes in the fan content policy, it is now legally shakey ground for anyone to draw adults only content of Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and Axis & Allies branded content.

And to this point, I will not be doing so for the foreseeable future. This should not change my personal works as non of my medieval fantasy works derive from D&D trademarks. It has, however, cut two major IPs off from requests, commissions, and patreon rewards.

One small inconsistency between episodes III and IV has always been how terribly Obi Wan has aged. I mean, it’s been less than 20 years between the events of movies. It all makes sense if you interpret it as the effects of PTSD.

Or I am just talking out of my ass, because Obi Wan at the time of his death was 56 and Sir Alec Guinness was 63 when he played the part of Obi Wan, so there isn’t really that big of a gap.

Darkest Dungeon Stress System in D&D (Download)

This week’s post is something I’ve been working on for a long time, and my first post which is a set of variant rules! Darkest Dungeon’s stress system is perhaps the core part of the game that sets it apart from other dungeon crawler games, and something I’ve really wanted to try implementing into D&D for quite a while. This system is designed to make D&D lea more into horror elements, so for those kind of games, such as those set in the Ravenloft campaign setting, this system presents a way to mechanically track your characters’ fear as they fight whatever horrors the DM has planned.

One of the major choices i made for designing this was having stress go up, instead of down like hit points, so that it’d mirror Darkest Dungeon more closely, and allow stress to build to double it’s value, which is more difficult to explain and track like negative hit points.

The additional rules I added outside of Darkest Dungeon’s original stress system, such as the Soothing Presence feat and the modifications to class abilities were based on the flavour of those abilities, or in comparison to similar abilities of the heroes in Darkest Dungeon, such as the stress gained from a druid’s transformation in reference to the Abomination hero from Darkest Dungeon.

When I was in elementary school I won second price for growing a large pumpkin, but missed out on showing up in the newspaper article because I was too lazy to actually go to the contest (my parents brought the pumpkin in for judging).

I am not usually a fan of spread misinformation as a cheap scare tactic but I can kinda forgive it in this case.

Even if this is not actually now New Zealand internet works and it’s just a phone company cutting you a deal, I FUCKING KNOW that american internet providers will see this model and be like “Yeah, this sounds like a great idea to squeeze people dry”.

This may not be corporate reality in NZ but it will be YOUR corporate reality if you don’t stop the FCC.

this Thanksgiving, you should all be thankful for having the internet the way that you do, and not like this.
