She/they. Mun is 27. Pan, non-binary, and pro BLM. Autistic with the tendancy to spam when excited, so please do bare with me. Also if you get a random DM from me I swear I’m not a stalker, just someone desperate for new Rpers (and feel free to ask me/DM me about that too, Mun’s a mom friend desperate for interactions). Ignore my about. It’s relatively right, but sorely needs an update.
Bit telling that for years and years evangelical religious extremists have been allowed on university campuses with their bullhorns and horrific imagery where they harass students into physical altercations and when students complain to the university’s administration they just shrug their shoulders citing freedom of speech but when those same tuition-paying students start protesting against war and genocide they call SWAT
Things that will make your computer meaningfully faster:
Replacing a HDD with an SSD
Adding RAM
Graphics cards if you're nasty
Uninstalling resource hogs like Norton or McAfee (if you're using Windows then the built-in Windows Security is perfectly fine; if you're using a mac consider bitdefender as a free antivirus or eset as a less resource intensive paid option)
Customizing what runs on startup for your computer
Things that are likely to make internet browsing specifically meaningfully faster:
Installing firefox and setting it up with ublock origin
adding the Auto Tab Discard extension to firefox to sleep unused tabs so that they aren't constantly reloading
Closing some fucking tabs bud I'm sorry I know it hurts I'm guilty of this too
Things that will make your computer faster if you are actually having a problem:
Running malwarebytes and shutting down any malicious programs it finds.
Correcting disk utilization errors
Things that will make your computer superficially faster and may slightly improve your user experience temporarily:
Clearing cache and cookies on your browser
Restarting the computer
Changing your screen resolution
Uninstalling unused browser extensions
Things that do not actually make your computer faster:
Deleting files
Registry cleaners
Defragging your drive
Passively wishing that your computer was faster instead of actually just adding more fucking RAM.
This post is brought to you by the lady with the 7-year-old laptop that she refuses to leave overnight for us to run scans on or take apart so that we can put RAM in it and who insists on coming by for 30-minute visits hoping we can make her computer faster.
Gaza is not starving. Gaza is being starved by Israel. their condition is so bad that they are forced to consume animal feed just to keep their stomach full. but it isn't providing them any nutrition which is causing malnutrition. this is one of the most well documented genocide of all time and yet there are people who deny it or worse, they don't care. please don't turn away from their suffering and keep talking about Gaza.
Fuck Israel and fuck everyone who still wants to pretend this is confusing or complicated. Is it really that hard to point out the "bad people" in a scenario where a multi-billion military apparatus is handcuffing and killing children and medical staff inside a fucking hospital?
my advice for making art again after years of not making art when making art is intrinsic to who you are and also you feel like you Can't Do It Anymore
you have to find the door in your brain where the little guy lives who likes to make stuff and is insane. and then you have to open the door and let him out
at that point I typically listen to some music for five or six hours while the little man in my brain does insane things and then I come back and clean up and take care of human things. and he goes back into. the door
I found a desktop app called Obsidian and spent the entire day moving everything from my WIP to it. Best part is that you can directly link docs to each other, and a graph shows you the entire "map" of your worldbuilding and how each little thing is connected to others.
Y'all, the only doc I have left on Google Drive is the first rough draft dont ask me how long it is thats not important rn
It's so organized and pretty 😭
