Advertising.
Advertising. So much advertising.
So, I loathe all these medical prescription advertisements on the media.  Doesn't the doctor prescribe?  Aren’t the folks that are licensed to prescribe, competent and, well, aren’t they licensed to prescribe?  Are there rampant waves of smart, unhealthy Americans clamoring for the drugs recommended by commercial investment in advertising?
Makes no sense.
So, this is true. I saw an advertisement for a schizophrenia drug.  “Ask your doctor.”
Now, part of me says, "Yes, gimme."  Part of me says, "Am I good Jack today or bad Jack."  Part of me says, "My name is Jack?"
What the heck?  Who is paying for that advertisement, irregardless of whether the drug has value?  Capitalism.  Humph.
Clearly, mental health is a salient issue in our society.  Guns, poverty, and genetics are all sidebar to the clear need to invest in social programs.
("Socialism" you say?)
No.  I just think that we can do better for people without the money spent on the  F-35 fighter jet.
I think mental health, getting along, finding purpose, is far more important than weapons of war, and culture domination.
I imagine a world like a specialized summer camp.  Everyone gets a meal, and dogs are assigned to the inmates. The Jack Russell is going to harass the riff-raff.  The Golden is going to stare with need for attention and acceptance of what is.  The Boxer wants another toy and is confused by a lack of routine,  The Border Collie is going to shepherd movement and some purposeful direction, but it doesn’t matter what it is, it just needs to guide.
But everyone gets a dog, and that relationship, that sticky bond makes it all work. We give and we get, and no one complains about the dog getting stuff for “free.” I like my imagined world a lot more than what I see on media.
But, back to my point.  Big pharma gets to advertise, money that adds cost to drugs, I think.  Makes NO sense to me.  And, I guess that is the end of the rant.  Doggo and I plan to walk out in the wild tomorrow.  She will acquire dirt.  I will suffer dirt removal yoga in the shower.
So, that is my rant.  And, as always, “So what?”
I don’t know.

Packing
What to Pack.
Okay, I know this is blurry, but this essentially what I am taking to Michigan.  What is missing is probably my little backpack with my laptop and iPad and camera and iPad/Pod connectors, and phone hookup. I have a little baggy of toiletries, and I learned later in the airport that the wine opener was unacceptable. I have my tennis walking shoes on, and I also have a pair of slaps.  There are two button shirts in the hanging bag.  I added another cotton shirt, and I am wearing one on the flight.  I didn't have to expand the bag, but I checked it at the airport anyway.  Lynette did not check hers. We took off in a plane with a rabbit on the tail. A cotton tail?

Seeking Lower Ground
In my never ending search to lower standards, expectations and personal responsibility, I keep running into snags.  Sometimes I like the result.
