Beach Towel Guide – How to Choose the Right One for You!
Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about beach vacations! One of the most important things to remember when packing for a trip to the beach is to bring a good beach towel. Not all towels are created equal, and there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind when choosing one for yourself. In this blog post, we’ll give you a quick guide on how to choose the right beach towel for you.
Size Matters The first thing you’ll want to consider when choosing a beach towel is size. You’ll want to make sure that the towel is big enough to comfortably lie down on or wrap around your body. A good rule of thumb is to choose a towel that is at least 60 inches long and 30 inches wide. However, if you are taller than average or plan on using the towel for other activities like picnicking or yoga, you may want to choose an extra-large towel that is 70 inches long and 40 inches wide.
Material Matters The next thing you’ll want to consider is material. Beach towels are typically made from cotton, linen, or microfiber. Cotton towels are soft and absorbent but can take a long time to dry. Linen towels are also absorbent but tend to be heavier than cotton towels. Microfiber towels are lightweight and quick-drying but may not be as absorbent as cotton or linen towels. Ultimately, the best material for you will depend on your personal preferences and needs.
Design Matters Too! Of course, you’ll also want to consider design when choosing a beach towel. Do you want a solid color or a pattern? stripes or flowers? The options are endless! If you plan on using your towel for other activities like picnicking or yoga, you may want to choose a more neutral design so that it can easily match with other items. However, if you just want a towel for lounging on the beach, feel free to go wild with color and pattern!
We hope this quick guide has helped you narrow down your choices when it comes to finding the perfect beach towel for your needs! Just remember to keep size, material, and design in mind when making your decision. Happy summer!

Summer Activities to Take Advantage of at the Beach
We all want to make the most of summer, and what better way to do that than by spending some time at the beach? Whether you’re a beach bum or a sun-seeker, there are plenty of activities for you to try this summer. Here are five ideas for activities that will make the most of your time at the beach.
Kayaking: Kayaking is a great way to explore different parts of the beach that may not be easily accessible from land. It also provides a unique view since you’ll be in the water as opposed to on land. Plus, it’s great exercise if you get tired of laying in the sand all day!
Beach Volleyball: Beach volleyball is an iconic summer activity and it's perfect for getting your friends together for some friendly competition. The best part? You don't need any special equipment other than a net and some balls! It's easy to set up and even easier to play – so grab your friends and get ready to hit the sand!
Standup Paddle boarding (SUP): If you’re looking for something new and exciting, standup paddle boarding (SUP) is definitely worth trying out. Not only is it physically challenging, but it also offers stunning views when done in open waters like oceans or lakes. If you're feeling adventurous, why not take a SUP yoga class? It'll give you a chance to get your body moving while enjoying nature around you!
Boating: Boating is one of those activities that can be as relaxed or as wild as you want it to be – depending on what type of boat you choose! Spend an afternoon leisurely sailing around or rent out a speedboat for an adrenaline-filled ride on the waves – whatever floats your boat! And if fishing isn't your thing, just bring some snacks and drinks aboard and enjoy a sunset cruise with friends or family instead!
Beach Bonfire & S'mores: Nothing quite screams “summer night” like gathering around a bonfire with friends while roasting marshmallows over an open flame. Of course, don’t forget about making s'mores too – they’re always welcome additions to any bonfire! Plus, this activity won't cost much either; all you need are sticks, firewood, marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate bars – voilà instant fun times with friends!
As we move into warmer weather months here in Canada it's important that we take advantage of our beautiful coastlines before winter comes back around again. So gather up your favorite people and head down to your local beach this summer - there's no better time than now for exploring new activities outdoors! From kayaking and standup paddle boarding (SUP) to beach volleyball and bonfires - there are plenty of ways for humans young and old alike to soak up some sun this season while having lots of fun along the way too! Enjoy yourselves out there folks - happy summering everyone!! : )

Making Waves of Change: How You Can Help with Ocean Conservation
The ocean is an incredibly important ecosystem that needs to be protected and conserved. Although it may feel overwhelming, you can make a difference in helping protect the oceans from human-induced issues such as plastic pollution, climate change, and overfishing. Here are some creative ways to get involved in ocean conservation.
Be an Advocate for Change Advocacy is one of the most effective ways to create change. Writing letters or emails to policymakers expressing your support for ocean conservation initiatives can have a big impact on helping create legislation that will protect our oceans. Additionally, social media has become an increasingly powerful tool for advocating for change—sharing posts about ocean conservation and tagging governmental representatives can help increase awareness and lead to meaningful action.
Educate Yourself Education is key when it comes to making a difference in anything; this is especially true when it comes to taking action on environmental issues like ocean conservation. Taking time to learn more about the threats facing our oceans, understanding how they’re affecting marine life and coastal communities, as well as learning more about successful initiatives and how they’re being implemented can give you a better perspective on how you can help by taking meaningful action.
Volunteer Your Time Volunteering your time directly helps organizations working towards protecting the oceans in various ways (e.g., beach cleanups, collecting data on species populations). Joining a local volunteer group or organization related to ocean conservation gives you access to events where you can be part of something bigger than yourself while also meeting people who share the same passion as you do! Volunteering is also great if you want hands-on experience with marine life and learning new skills related to conservation efforts.
No matter who you are or what your background is, there are countless ways for individuals like us all over the world to get involved in ocean conservation efforts. By becoming an advocate for change, educating ourselves about current issues facing our oceans, and volunteering time with dedicated organizations working towards protecting them, we can make waves of positive change happen! Together we will ensure that future generations will have healthy oceans full of life—so start swimming now!

The Wonders of the Ocean Tides
From the gentle ebb and flow to the crashing waves, the ocean tides are a mysterious and powerful force. But have you ever wondered what causes them? How do they work and why do they matter? Let’s explore the wonders of the ocean tides.
What Causes Tides? Tides are caused by two main factors; the gravitational pull of the moon, and centrifugal force from Earth’s rotation. As gravity from the moon pulls on Earth, it causes water levels to rise in certain areas. At the same time, as Earth rotates, it pushes against water, creating a centrifugal force that results in low tide in other areas. Together these forces create a pattern of high and low tides that repeat every 12 hours and 25 minutes (known as a lunar day).
The size of each tidal wave is determined by several factors including the strength of gravity between Earth and moon; how close or far away they are; and whether or not there is an obstruction like a coastline blocking its movement. The result is that certain areas will experience higher or lower tides than others.
Why Do Tides Matter? Tides provide many benefits to humanity. They act as natural barriers providing protection from storms and flooding in coastal regions. They also move water into estuaries which helps with breeding grounds for fish and other marine life. Additionally, strong tidal currents provide power for underwater turbines which can generate electricity for coastal communities. Furthermore, since most human activities revolve around tides – fishing, sailing, surfing etc – understanding how they work can help make these activities more successful (and safe!).
From their mysterious origins to their practical applications - it’s clear that understanding how ocean tides work matters! With this knowledge we can better predict weather patterns, protect our coastlines from flooding events, use them to generate renewable energy sources – even improve our recreational activities! So next time you walk along a beachfront or watch waves crash into shore – take a moment to appreciate this powerful yet delicate balance between Earth and Moon!
