Adrien smiles as he eats breakfast with Nathalie, smiles as he walks through the halls of his new lycée, smiles as people stop him on the street and tell him time and time again what a "hero" his father was. (Adrien wishes he could've been a hero, too. He should've been. Maybe then his father would still be alive.) (But he's surviving. Everyone may be treating him as though he were made of glass, but he can still go through the motions, he can prove them wrong, he can still smile.) “And you’re… happy,” Marinette spoke carefully, a nervous tilt to her voice, “... right?” (Adrien has some things to find out.)

Hey guys, deciding to force myself to finally start uploading my post-season 5 finale fic! It's already complete and will be updated Mondays and Thursdays.

Basically, it's lots of Adrien angst and reveals dealing with the fallout of the season 5 finale. It was a lot of fun to write.

Adrien cannot fight his father. He can't do it. Not only because he's a fucking sentimonster, bit because Gabriel can take advantage of him so easily when he reveals its all for his mother.

'But he fought his father in Representation' but he wasn't being faced between the prospect of betraying his only family or betraying the love of his life then. He was just an angry teenager who had been pulled from his home. No moral dilemma just anger.

Adrien is not emotionally intelligent enough to chose between his mother and Marinette.

If Adrien was there, they would have fucking lost. THAT was the point of Chat Blanc and Ephemeral.

I am saying this with eternal, overflowing love for all of these characters, but it is so funny to me that I have seen people say that Kagami is too apprehensive and practical to fall in love with Félix. As if she did not spend half of season 3 with Marinette at her throat for literally no reason and then season 4 with Adrien ignoring and abandoning her even while they were dating. And then break down crying in the street because she loved them both so much. “She would not love someone who would hurt her just because they have good intensions” she literally already does. At least this time she is aware of how stupid it is. And its stupid enough to be funny. And he’s just as stupid for being in love with her when he also absolutely should not. And i hope they kiss on the lips for me. Hope this helps
