Julian Stetter - a mainstay on Mireia Records (for good reason); and by now a world renown specialist for all-encompassing and euphoric experiences on the dance floor (with his work on Correspondant, PNN, Kompakt & own akwa). His sound - chunky and towering, but never dull or ordinary. Tiny fragments dance around solid bass lines; a dense atmosphere is amended by his versatile melodic syntax.
Here is his latest addition to Mireia Records following "Napa" and "Jaipur".
It's been a few months already since the release of Mooncake. To accompany the album, RSS cherry-picked some of their favorite people in music today for remixes.
The results are unique, each in their own way. Ranging from unconstrained to introspective - all remixes are now collected on one album.
Welcome to the outside world!
Achim Maerz first full EP for Mireia is out today!
It's been a journey - Achim actually contributed a remix to our very first release many years ago. He then surfaced again for a track on the "We'll Sea" series.
But what probably has been unknown to most people til today is that he's actually our very own Max's brother.
"Please prepare to open the blinds for Achim Maerz new track "Outside"
You know it's springtime in space, cosmic rays tickle long dormant feelings. On April 14th Mireia Records will treat you to four new songs of Achim's dreamy take on house music."
“Concerned Burners”, the brittle but punchy opening track of RSS Disco’s album “Mooncake” gets a mind-boggling remix treatment. In charge are Keshavara, the band with the most kaleidoscopic approach to pop music in Germany right now. The result is a song that’s super colorful, funky and full of aural surprises. Music that escapes genre and boundaries - multi layered, frisky and uplifting.
"Irusu" may be the centerpiece of RSS Disco's album "Mooncake". Visually, it certainly is - thanks to this out of space video by Lars Zimmermann.
Premiering now on GROOVE Magazin's youtube channel. Here's the full article (german).
A few people need to mentioned here – couldn’t have done it without you.
Thanks so much for spending your energy, creativity, and time on this project:
The preorder of RSS Disco's debut album "Mooncake" just started. It will be released September 23rd. By ordering it now you will get it earlier and: with a fancy fridge magnet! Better be quick - it's a limited edition..
RSS Disco - Mooncake (Prins Thomas Diskomiks) [MIR254]
“Could you soak up moon beams,
the same way you’d soak up the sun?”
RSS Disco answer this clamant question with their new single “Mooncake”. An hypnotic piece of floating synth-dub-disco with freeform vocals that reminisce about nights spent outside; in touch with the sky and the body and the mind. We’ll leave the rest up to your interpretation.
Twirling the cycle to make a circle - is Prins Thomas. An iconic figure of modern dance music (and beyond), pulling cues from a broad range of influences to craft the instantly recognizable Diskomiks reinterpretations. Riding a fervent bassline, adding gleeful funk & fun to the original to get your balearic dance affair going. Tis’ the perfect jam for boundless, endless, hot summer days.
Vocals by Skygirl’s Eva Krämer.

“Mooncake”, the album, will be out September 9th
Summer of Mooncake is in full swing – RSS Disco release “Blizer”, the third single of their upcoming album. This one’s backed by a momentous remix by long time ally and friend Julian Stetter (Correspondant, Permanent Vacation, PNN, Planet Akwa & of course Mireia Records).
Blizer charms with catchy chords, a bouncy bass line and lots of tape delay. Guitars thicken the plot, before you know it you have found your Balearic happy place, a festival club Tropicana.
Julian’s Remix locks out the sunshine quickly, but keeps the tape delay tripping. Remember Carl Craig’s “In the Trees C2 Remix”? This Stoic, far-reaching and timeless monster of a remix. Well, that is a good reference point. But the trees are bigger here, and Julian controls the fog machine. You’ll want to get lost with us here.
RSS Disco serve up two remixes by the big JKs in the game. Two of everyone’s favorites - known for their touching, encompassing and magnetic productions.
It’s Johanna Knutsson of Klasse Wrecks, Kontra Musik, and Circle of Live & Johannes Klingebiel of C.A.R., Beats in Space, and Planet Akwa.
Johannes’ “Firm Shake” enchants the listener with an otherworldly, pitched vocal while congas splash in from the rooftop. Let the song’s piano outplay life’s worries.
Johanna’s “Marking Time” is an ethereal, pensive piece. Haunting but close, treading softly. You’ll want to hold your friends in your arms while watching the sun rise.
The JK dream team tackled songs of RSS Disco’s upcoming album “Mooncake”. But, wait - the originals of these songs haven’t even been released yet you say? Your phonographic brain can't place them, Discogs returns no results? Well, you’re absolutely right. Conventions have been thrown out of the window, time has been reversed. Please enjoy these two without the knowledge of the source material. “Mooncake” will be out in September.
Out now: RSS Disco – Tan Lines & Fizzy Wine [MIR251]
Hamburg's favorite cosmic disco trio RSS Disco surprises us with an early first taste of their upcoming album "Mooncake".
Starting the journey is the vibey "Tan Lines and Fizzy Wine". A song that’s reminiscent of your favorite summer afternoons - dizzy yet excited, dancing like a happy apéro accident. At dusk, Istanbul's Magic Jams, also known as ‘The Magic Movement’ label head Noema, takes you to the club with his cool-as-aloe funky steady housey interpretation of the "Tan Lines and Fizzy Wine" dancefloor bliss.
During the next months, we can look forward to more singles and remixes by Prins Thomas, Julian Stetter, Keshavara, Johanna Knutsson, Rigopolar, Johannes Klingebiel and more.
Premiering today on 44,100Hz Social Club: Oberst & Buchner's "Gravity Control".
The track takes us deep into the realms of dark matter disco, its engines fueled by cosmic energies and laser beams. So prepare for a hypnotic dance on the edge of a black hole, a one way ticket into foreign rave space.
Just a couple of days until the full EP hits - preorder on our bandcamp.
Seasoned propulsion scientists Oberst & Buchner are set to debut on Mireia Records with an out of this world EP.
First contact is established by two of the most weathered rocketeers: Zombies in Miami. The duo from Mexico City transform the title track into one of their signature galvanic Disco productions, while keeping the playful character of O&B’s space boogie. Darkness and a proper pinch of rock ’n roll coalesce into a supermassive black hole lit by strobe light.
The song’s energy is sufficient to stabilize Earth’ orbit well into the next year.
"Moments" is out today - congrats Julian Stetter on two monumental and emotive pieces of music.Find the single now on every streaming platform, digi shop, and of course on our Bandcamp.
