When they’re finally forced to make a move from the bunker and find the world safe enough to enter, Jesse goes his own way.    It seemed so rare these days to have any moment of peace. The Father had promised a safe haven, a paradise, but that didn’t last long. The Twins were ruthless, brutal. Coming from a man who had come to hurt so many, come to destroy what the old Gate had built-- maybe this was what it had felt like for the Seeds. The Judge isn’t paying attention, clearly. All John gets for a few seconds is a blank stare as he registers what had been asked. Where’s Joseph? 

  Hell, it still caught him off guard to see John after all those years, too. The last memory he had of the man was shooting him out of a plane, after all. Gods, what were you thinking?Now he was older, like the rest of them. A face just as worn as the others from the old days. As far as John knew, the Deputy was dead. Hopefully the Father wouldn’t let it slip who was really behind the mask. All John gets in rely is a strangled sounding grunt and a nod, followed by a small jolt of the head as a beckon for him to follow. It was easier to just take him there, rather than trying to explain with gestures and words that didn’t exist.
