Flash of scenes as Feyre's voice goes bossy

“You’re moving into the House of Wind.”

Magnificent sequence starts showing the big house from far away, as violins music plays. Bottom to top showing all the stairs.

"Each morning, you will train with Cassian in Windhaven, in the Illyrian Mountains"

Scenes of Nesta sweating and falling to the floor as smirking Cassian disarms her.

"After lunch, for the rest of the afternoon, you will be assigned work in the library beneath the House of Wind"

Magnificent music sounds as the camera takes in all the floors of the library. The background becomes blurry but focuses on a red haired female walking down humming a lovely creepy song until she reaches the bottom levels and the lights go off.

*She screams, pure terror in her voice*

“And my other option?”

“You go back to the human lands.” Elain barks as she opens the door. The camera goes from Elain to Nesta.

Silver eyes gleam with promise of death as she takes in the betrayal. Camera keeps doing a panoramic of the scene showing the inner circle's shocked faces until it stops on a mirror.

A really thin Nesta shows in the glass. She looks at herself as the image in the mirror becomes blurry and it focuses again. Same Nesta, clothes hanging.

A ruffle of wings "Can I help you?"

Nesta looks at the clipped wings of Emerie and they both smile sadly at each other.

*Black screen*

"Your story is worth telling"

Music begins with flashes of Nesta dancing with Eris every spin shows a different scene:

Nesta scrying the three objects.

Gwyn and Nesta running through the library as in a mischievous way.

Emerie and Nesta laughing as books with really smutty titles start to appear in a table.

The three of them exchanging bracelets as the music gets to its climax and holding hands they say together:

"We are the rock against which the surf crashes"

Gwyn cutting the ribbon; the three of them climbing Ramiel as the silver pendant glimmers, reflecting in Nesta's eyes.

Cassian and Nesta training, fighting and...

*Music stops*

“You took him to your bed, didn’t you?”

Nesta smirks is answered by Cassians own.

Everyone bursts out laughing. Camera goes up and up, their laugh is driven away by the wind and as the dark sky is shown, Nesta whispers:

"Stay"

The screen goes black and when the music reaches its end, a silver bond glows...

Okay okay okay. I finished my reread of A Court of Silver Flames and after the initial high, can now process it clearly. 

I hated how the whole mating bond was handled. It was inconsistent with what we know of the mating bond in this book (and the previous books). How can everyone smell Nessian on each other when they’re fucking and then not mention anything when the bond actually snaps into place? Other than boning each other all the time, which they were already doing anyways, nothing changed after the bond took hold and it’s unfortunate because there was so much potential for emotional growth. Cassian having an actual meaningful conversation with Mor, Nesta and Mor coming to a head and actually voicing their issues with each other, the fall-out with Eris, how Cassian being tied to Nesta could affect her/their ties to the Cauldron and the Mother, just to name a few. 

I hated how the IC was basically absolved of all their crimes. It’s one thing for Nesta to accept and acknowledge her actions and how it affected and hurt others, but it’s another thing for her to take full responsibility for every hateful word and thought the IC had about her. For a group of people who think they’re so incredibly tolerant, they are not actually tolerant at all–not unless you’re kissing their asses or worshipping the ground they walk on. 

But I loved how Nesta was able to find and accept herself, that she was able to find people who love her and she loves in return. I’m happy she’s found her purpose and isn’t afraid of her unwritten future. I’m happy she has people she can be vulnerable with and isn’t afraid to be vulnerable around–isn’t afraid of sharing her heart. I love that Nesta found a home, both figuratively and literally, and that we actually got to see everything we’ve always known about her. That she has a warrior’s heart, that she loves fiercely, that the IC’s worst thoughts about her were unfounded, that she’s a total babe and everyone wants to marry her because she’s Nesta Fucking Archeron! 

Was this book flawless? Of course not! Were there so many inconsistencies in the writing and actual lore of the series that made me wonder if this book was the first and only draft? Absolutely! But hey, I can still love and enjoy something imperfect and deeply flawed, like Nesta herself. And if it takes another three years for the next book to come out, at least this one has enough ammo in it to allow me to share all my #thoughts! because I can sure as hell guarantee the Rhysand: The Most Worst High Lord essay is coming after his actions in this book.

This book. I just feel that there is only one thing to say to this book and to Sarah : THANK YOU.

I still don't have words to describe what a journey it has been and to express my love for Nesta and this story.

Also because she is already hating herself. Really I'm twice amazed about the lack of psychological knowledge of this mfukers. I mean they have a frigging planetarium!!!! These people know astrology but can't understand what depression looks like. Or - correction- what depression looks like ON SOMEONE THAT IT'S NOT THEIR SWEET MILD HAPPY LITTLE FAMILY MEMBER. OH FOR GOODS SAKE F*CK OF.

Cassy boy I was liking you. But man you don't have the right to treat my baby Nesta like that. She need someone that cares for her, be gentle.
