because shinobu both envied / had full faith / confidence in rengoku? i genuinely think that she after the mugen train arc… tanjiro isn’t the ONLY person who goes to visit senjuro. i like to think she’s at least come over once or twice? she wishes him safe travels and is so confident he’ll be okay while being fully aware every goodbye could be the last time. so i can’t imagine his younger sibling isn’t, like all children, someone she genuinely has tenderness and a motherly aura for. 

she’d even put senjuro to work if he was feeling useless at the butterfly mansion because i feel he’d be so good at that? and constantly try to keep him busy while being available to hear him talk about anything. shinobu does have a heart. it’s just buried beneath ambition and rage and false smiles. but she genuinely does love the people that are in her life and genuinely grieves immensely inside / then it turns to rage at the loss of her comrades. she naturally would want to check on immediate family, imo? and i just see her being very gentle with senjuro, just as she is with inosuke, zenitsu and of course, tanjiro and nezuko. 

tl;dr: let shinobu put you to work but also quietly and guardedly mom all the kny kids.

RULES UPDATED! please give them a look. not spoiler free! i will gradually be getting back into this series, but if you’re familiar with me, my main blog takes up my time, so replies here are sporadic, that said i’m very excited to write shinobu, as she became my favorite character in k.ny after initially having tanjiro as my favorite! she over time took over the spot as queen. i hope you enjoy my portrayal as i enjoy getting back into a series i have a soft spot for.
