so i study decolonization, as in i studied it as part of my degree, and i thought I'd make a list of some readings/films that might offer additional insight about decolonization (it also helps if you're tired of the christian moralistic thinking)

occupation 101 (can be found on youtube i believe, it's about the history between isreal and palestine, it focuses on palestinians and it is quite comprehensive. there's live footage, there's interviews with palestinian children, etc. it's a must watch i think, regarding palestine. it points the finger squarely at the united states.)

the wretched of the earth, franz fanon. fanon is really well known in the decolonization sphere because he writes about it in a very succinct and clear way. to him, decolonization can never occur peacefully, and i think that's a really important key lesson. he also talks about how colonizers don't just take land, they reframe ideas, they take language, art, thoughts.

the battle of algiers, 1966. this is a fascinating film, it's sort of a documentary, they got the actual people to play their parts. it describes and interviews the main individuals involved in the fight for independence within Algiers. i think understanding how a nation can gain independence over its colonial forces is really important in the grand scheme of decolonialism.

unthinking eurocentrism. if you can get your hands on it, i love this text. it's so poignant and it lays everything out so clearly and it really shows how we center our worlds around eurocentrism and westernism.

I had a dream last night where a new update came out for deltarune that added a sidequest in chapter 1 where you can go to a building labeled “BDSM Sex Dungeon” but when you went inside it was just a large undetailed white room with a single character with a playing card for a face who gave you access to a stock market simulator and the stock market simulator was like a full other game. There was a separate dedicated save slot system for stock market mode

If you are lucky enough to have steered clear of my Petrigrofian obsessions during my winter-long breakdown, Dogsled is an upsettingly tragic gothic/magical realist marriage horror clusterfuck of method acting and desperate astral metaphor on the ethics, dimensional logistics, and the destructive implications of "making an Ice Betty" on the sanctity of the timeline. The Bitches In Media Masterlist

Hello everyone, I am ready to formally introduce you to my spreadsheet of media that I am recommending on the grounds of enjoying its female characters.

I've got my recommendations sorted by type of media, length, whether they have female protagonists, and whether there's any canonical femslash in them. I'm also slowly going through the process of adding short pitches and notes for everything I'm recommending. If you're interested in digging into more media properties that center women or do a good job with their character arcs, take a peek in here and see if there's anything to your tastes!

Along with my own recommendations, there's also a backlog of things people have recommended to me for the sake of this project but haven't gotten to yet, along with ones I've been through but don't personally enjoy enough to recommend. Between these three categories there's around 200 titles running the gauntlet of every format and genre. Enjoy!
