One time I had a breakdown and chopped off all my hair with craft scissors in my front yard because my logic was "if I am no longer feminine they will think I'm useless and leave me alone" and almost immediately(tears had not even dried yet) I heard "you look really cute"

Today I saw a new psychiatrist. I let him take a look at my unedited doctor's notes in my phone and he said, "So this was actually really helpful. Have you ever heard of borderline personality disorder?"
Last week I had a panic attack where I started having this weird delusion that I was literally about to die for no reason. I argued with myself about it while it was happening, like "Why do you even think that? Heart failure? Is it your stupid baby lungs?" but what got me to calm down was telling myself that if I was going to die there was nothing I could do so get over it, but also I reminded myself that I wish for death on a regular basis so it's fine. And that worked well enough but I also feel like there's a few red flags here you know

My puppy moved a pillow in front of the fish tank and he's spent hours over the past few days just watching the fish.

Lately I've been priming my canvases with yellow and using navy to create shades instead of black because I'm trying this method called "I want my dog to be able to see it better."

Seeing snotty tiktok dog trainers go "Your dog hates doggy daycare" practically makes me laugh because doggy daycare is literally hundreds a month for most of our clients, and most of them aren't rich! It's like saying "Your dog hates doing to the vet" because..... yeah, that's probably true.
"I don't know how he got out of his kennel!" "She jumps the fence!" "She's really old, has seizures, and needs meds three times a day. Is that too much?"
I've now multiple kennels in multiple parts of the US. Most of my dogs aren't from rich parents. They're working dogs that live in a city and are too smart/ high energy to be left alone, they have separation anxiety and pee all over their apartment when mom leaves, they break out and nearly get themselves killed, they're old and need extra care, etc.. They're from loving homes doing their best despite the cost, even if rehoming might be easier for owners in this economy. There are valid cons to sending your dog to boarding or daycare, such as more difficulty training, but the "Your dog doesn't like it," just doesn't really apply to most of the dogs that I've met in this industry, which is thousands at this point.
Much like a vet, your dog (or any other pet) may be very anxious at doggy daycare. A responsible facility will teach their employees how to recognize and cater to that anxiety, as well as build trust over time if a dog allows it. At a responsible facility your dog should be safe and cared for, which may not be able to be said if they're unsupervised.
Point: Take everything an internet dog trainer says with a grain of salt. Do your own independent research from credible sources.

"You're a turtle" (derogatory)
"I have adult money" is no longer a joke I make about frivolous purchases, it is a threat. On a similar note, I am watching ATLA with a giant tortoise.

He just left his bowl of snacks, slapped the remote to Netflix, and then went back to eating.... so. I guess we're watching something on Netflix.

It would be unethical of me to get a dachshund when I live in a house with six sets of stairs. I know poodles and doodles are prone to anxiety (this is anecdotal, but I've never met a white poodle or doodle without sensitive skin!) and I do not want to deal with that again. If I were to get a tiny puppy not %100 sure of it's breed but looked like a golden retriever, that'd be great except three months later it seems the shelter was apparently wrong and it's a husky that is now destroying my house(and I'm not in a position to be a full time dog mom), that would be a problem. A problem I could've prevented by not taking risk without research.
With cats the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is "all calicos are female" but that's trivia not a concern. White cats are more likely to have health problems, especially sight and hearing related. But unlike dogs, most cats are not actually a domesticated chosen breed at all. Not even a mix. Purebred cats are a human invention, but cats themselves aren't.
It's not that shelters are bad - quite the opposite! - but they can only work with the information they have. Adopting is great, but mindful shopping from ethical breeders (not pet stores) helps owners ensure that they know what they're getting into and makes it less likely that these animals will be surrendered again, have a less than ideal quality of life, or be neglected.
I used to be hard "adopt don't shop!" but since actually working with dogs professionally, I now really only see that justification with cats. I can look back and say that I just didn't understand the extent of why breed matters with a dog. I understood that working dogs existed and all that but I saw it as mostly "big dogs need more space than little dogs, certain breeds shed more." And while, in general, that's true it doesn't acknowledge that genetics absolutely matter, both for behavioral reasons and for their health.
