“This is the first time I’ve travelled alone. My friend told me that you learn a lot about yourself when you travel alone. But so far, I find it the other way around. I feel like I learn more about myself when I have to relate to other people. Today I walked around Sydney. I saw everything I was supposed to see. I don’t even know why I did it. It just felt like the thing I should be doing. Maybe I’m just not a contemplative person. I generally feel satisfied with my life. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I don’t have to love what I’m doing to be happy. But does that make me ignorant? Should I be searching for something?“

me: between 2009 and 2012 kesha satirised and parodied the archetype of the female pop star and the drunken party girl image. she has a 140 near genius IQ and studied psychology and comparative religion between recording her first album, the irreverent and heartwarming satirical masterpiece “Animal”. time after time she deconstructed the pop star image with a trash glam aesthetic that was authentic to her music taste and she frequently honoured her mother’s country rock/hippie mentality that informed her unique working class upbringing. “Rainbow” is a Butterly moment and the magnum opus of her career that honours her country rock beginnings and amplified the vulnerability of her songwriting. ‘Warrior’ is one of the most underrated pop albums of all time. she wrote every lyric to nearly all her songs and when you actually listen to the anecdotes in the verses of “TiK ToK” it’s clear she’s writing about real life experiences of parties in Nashville/California instead of just generic party song lyrics about being in the club. she really did brush her teeth with jack one morning in vegas, in this essay i will

Frida Kahlo & Josephine Baker had an affair when both women were living in Paris in 1939.
Kahlo had recently separated from her husband Diego and had come to Paris to oversee an exhibition of her paintings at the Louvre. In addition to her music career, Baker was, at the time, working for the French military intelligence as an ‘honorable correspondent.’ She would coax information about German troops and other military matters during her parties where she would meet officers frequently.
While the details of the affair have remained cloudy, it’s been confirmed by Baker’s son and biographer that soon after meeting, Baker and Kahlo became romantically involved. Both women identified as bisexual and were famous for boldly eschewing the conventions of the time.

Brazilian graphic designer and illustrator Butcher Billy got the idea of turning famous love hits into book covers of horror master Stephen King.
Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” The Smiths, “Head Over Heels” by Tears For Fears and many others were portrayed in a very unusual way.
“This series imagines an alternate universe where some of the most desperate and tragic romantic songs in the ‘70s and’ 80s are actually books written by Stephen King. The concept is to look at the dark side of love by the vision of pop culture, bringing aspects of its classic stories to play the true meaning of the songs - this can be completely subverted or stressed strangeness, while paying tribute to the vintage design of the original covers,” Butcher writes on his Behance.

Tuesday tips – Tangent
One of the many things to watch out while you’re drawing your composition is tangents.  Tangents are shapes that touches in an uncomfortable way.  There are many tangents, but the most common ones are continuous long lines and edges/angle that touches each other.  So just make sure you overlap your objects and avoid these.
