October 2023 TBR
Welcome to my favorite month! I am super excited to pick some books and have an awesome reading month. I would like to see if maybe I can do a little retreat as well. I probably will keep Weekendween separate.
October has 4 weeks, so Iāll draw 4. I may add on others if Iām reading quickly.

September 2023 TBR
Welcome to another lovely month of reading! This month is particularly special to me because itās my birth month. Iām super excited to be back to school working with an AMAZING team. Fall is also coming which is my favorite season. I really hope I get to celebrate with some awesome books.
This is also a special month because I will be participating in the Trevor Projectāsā¦
Orilium Autumn Equinox Wrap-up
Wow! Always exciting to have a Magical Readathon month.
Love in Focus Volume 1-3, Yoko Nogiri

This was a very cute and short manga. Everything happened rather abruptly. In some ways, I wish her relationship with Kei had been explored more even if I wasnāt rooting for him. This in general I felt could have beenā¦
Recent Reads Wrap Up
Hello! The past few months have been quite bust. I had a lot going on and changing at work. Sorry that I havenāt been that great at posting. Letās talk about some books! I honestly wonāt be mentioning everything I read in May and June 2023 since I didnāt really have a lot of strong reactions to them. Before you protest, there were also 16 books.
I did read everything on myā¦
Orilium Autumn Equinox 2023
Itās time for Autumn Equinox! This is the second part of the Magical Readathon G from Bookroast has made. I always love taking part in this, even if it is challenging. Basically, you read a book for each prompt. Since this is the Autumn term, itās exam season. Each course will have various pass levels. You must complete the lower level before advancing to the next.

July 2023 Wrap Up
I added some new cards for my TBR deck challenge to make up for what Iām missing. I also read The Guest List and If We Were Villians to replace a DNF. Thereās a lot of books to cover, but most of my thoughts on each are brief.

March 2023 Wrap
A bit of a rough month. I only finished one book and DNFed two. I ended up changing roles at work this month which took my mental energy. I didnāt even post this on time!
Mornings on Horseback, David McCullough

Summerween 2023
Summerween is here again! July 7-13 is spooky time and I canāt wait! In case youāre unfamiliar with it, Summerween is an annual readathon hosted by Gabby and Olivia to celebrate the Halloween and spooky season all year long. You usually want to focus on horror, thriller, or mystery books that fit a certain prompt. I havenāt been keeping up with booktube so Iām not sure whatā¦
July TBR
This is an exciting month! I have the whole month to read and itās Summerween! Summerween will have its own TBR and begins the 7th.
Iām drawing 4 cards for the 4 weeks this month and a bonus catch-up card. I hope to be able to tackle all these and Summerween.
4 of Diamonds
Read an Own Voices book

June TBR
Welcome to the new TBR! We are closing in on the end of the school year and work has made a positive shift, so hoping that carries through despite the business of the last few weeks of school.
June is a 4 card draw.
10 of Spades

February 2023 Wrap up
A short month with the surprising concept of a break. Totally weird as an educator to have periods of breaks we did not have as a student. This will be nice even in the shortest month of the year with a bulky read. I did also need the time as I did have trouble reading during commutes. I did get approved to transfer roles at my school which is exciting so hopefully, theā¦
May 2023 TBR
Welcome back to our regularly scheduled reading shenanigans. Itās hard to believe itās May already. This was definitely more of a challenge than I anticipated. May is another 5 card draw! I ended up with mostly digital books this time which might help.
4 of Spades
Read a book that features body positivity
Iāll Be the One, Lyla Lee
This has been on my list for a while. Thisā¦
Spring Equinox Wrap Up
I have to say, I am quite happy with my bounce back. I had a tough month but I was able to make the most of my break. It wasnāt the best month in terms of quality, but I did make a decent effort on all the books on my TBR. I will be using my status to count one of the prompts as complete despite a DNF. I have a hard time with recommendations so Iāll count that one.
Gild,ā¦
Orilium Spring Equinox 2023
I am hopeful about this despite my recent slump. I do love Orilium and the Magical Readathon. My character is a necromancer. Technically, I can change my ācallingā but I advance in the guild ranks which gives benefits if I stick to it. I finished 2 semesters, so I have moved to the assistant level and can count DNFs. This is a bit daunting having 8 books.

āHere is what the sea smells like. It is more texture than scent, because the sea is primarily made of two substances that have no smell of their own: water and salt. Salt has no smell, but makes the air sting, and so all of the other smells of the sea are layered upon the pang of salt. Water has no smell but instead a comfort. We feel moisture as life and so the smells of the ocean are layered upon the contentment of the water. Salt is treble and water is bass. I donāt know how I know this is true, but I know it is true. The sea smells like old wood and wet leaves. Like cold mud and warm stone. Like every creature who has ever lived in it, a churning graveyard and nursery. Like winds from the inland carrying the hot circulation of life and winds from the ocean carrying the distant froth of waves against ships and islands. Like gray, only more so. Like blue, only less so.ā
