SO MUCH TO UNPACK in the above clip from the 1985 Unreleased, Unedited Private Interview with Morrissey & Johnny Marr
• Moz calls meeting Johnny the Awakening
• “i was so impressed and infatuated that even if he couldn’t play, it didn’t matter” [i am trying to imagine a world where Johnny can’t play guitar (the horror!) but it “doesn’t matter” and his function in the Smiths is what, sitting looking pretty? being attached to Moz’s hip?]
• Moz positively gushing about Johnny being a happy-go-lucky person
• “he came at a time when i was deeper than the depths, if you like, and that gave me a massive amount of energy. i could feel Johnny’s energy just seeping inside me”
Johnny was his happy pill… until he wasn’t
The Collector with Terrence Stamp in 1965 is an interesting film to refer to considering Stamp doesn't just kidnap his love interest - he wants his love interest to marry him, to be with him forever. He refrains from raping her to try and make her think he's noble and chivalrous, all while keeping her locked in the cellar. He only let's her out to bathe under his supervision.
The victim dies from pneumonia at the end of the film, after Stamp's character decides against bringing her a doctor, and then moves on to stalking a new victim immediately afterwards.
here u go anon, thanks to @noelgallgher i was able to find this hilarious lil anectode :)
